shirebound · 3 November 2006 · Chapter 15: Frodo

These are so adorable! You have me imagining all the wonderful adventures the stuffed animals are having, and I can picture Frodo and Sam eagerly awaiting the post every day to see if they have a letter from the other.

Author's reply

Hmmm... maybe I should write the adventures of Merry's stuffed animals? Glad you're liking this! God bless, Ellie

harrowcat · 25 October 2006 · Chapter 12: Sam

Oh poor Sam, the trees before Moria must have been dreadful for him but, hopefully, Lothlorien helped. And nasty, nasty Ted!

Author's reply

*shudders* Ted bothers me. I'm sure Lothlorien helped alot, but if he'd seen Fangorn... :) God bless, Ellie

harrowcat · 25 October 2006 · Chapter 11: Frodo

Am loving the discussion on vocabulary.

Author's reply

Glad you're liking it! I love words, so I put as many big ones in as possible! God bless, Ellie

harrowcat · 25 October 2006 · Chapter 10: Sam

What is this? A competition in spending time in bed? Can I join in please?

Author's reply

Lol! We can all do that! I'd like it very much, since I think I'm getting a cold, and it's not fun. I wonder who'd win?? God bless, Ellie

harrowcat · 25 October 2006 · Chapter 9: Frodo

Oh poor Frodo. I hope that the post is quicker than ours here.

cookiefleck · 23 October 2006 · Chapter 12: Sam

I have been thoroughly enjoying these letters, especially the ones written by Sam, as they express his personality in such a delightful and revealing way. Kudos to both of you and I hope to read many, many more of these.

Author's reply

Thank you very much! Eleon is a marvelous Sam, is she not? I'm so glad you are enjoying! God bless, Ellie

Antane · 23 October 2006 · Chapter 11: Frodo

So loving - wishing he was there to help Sam, writing out those stories which I know Sam will treasure all the more because they will be in his friend's handwriting, calling Sam dear. Ah, hobbity love and this is just the start of it! :) Namarie, God bless, Antane (P.S. tried to respond to your e-mail about my website but it bounced back for some reason. I got into the site without a problem but I will say that I am having a problem with The Latter Days Part 1 linking correctly that I have yet to figure out.)

Author's reply

Glad you're enjoying! I'm sad, though, because we've finally finished, though the final scene Eleon wrote is absolutely brilliant. We are going to be writing more together, but we're thinking of doing something with Merry next. Don't you just love Frodo and Sam!? God bless, Ellie (p.s. Oh, ok. I got on my Dad's computer, and was able to get on, so it must just have been something wrong with the connection when I tried to get on the other times. I'm honored that you're posting my stories on there!)

Larner · 23 October 2006 · Chapter 12: Sam

Aha! Sam is looking for good reasons to actually use his new vocabulary words! And he uses "outrageous" so very well and appropriately. Lovely!

Author's reply

I think he liked that word when he found out what it meant. Lol! Thank you! God bless, Ellie

Larner · 23 October 2006 · Chapter 11: Frodo

So, we have two abed now, recovering. And describing Bilbo as "bouncy" reminds me of Tigger, of course.

Author's reply

Tigger! I love Tigger! I didn't even think of that. *grins* God bless, Ellie

shirebound · 23 October 2006 · Chapter 12: Sam

How adorable that Sam is learning how to use those bigs words like... outrageous!

Author's reply

I love big words! I think Frodo would like big words, too, and Sam would be constantly asking him what they meant. :) God bless, Ellie

Antane · 20 October 2006 · Chapter 10: Sam

More sweet letters! I know I am overusing that word but that is what these letters are. I love Frodo giving Sam a 'big word' there and Sam asking what it means, but the poor dears both in bed and so far from each other! I hope Frodo gets well soon so they can be together and keep each other entertained. That'll shorten their misery but it will end the letters too and these are just so much fun to read. Forgot to mention earlier that cuteness of Sam poetry for Rosie - even at that young an age! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author's reply

They'd be so miserable without being able to write each other, wouldn't they? Glad you're enjoying! God bless, Ellie

Arwen of Lorien · 20 October 2006 · Chapter 10: Sam

Lovely! I am so glad you posted these! *teehee* I wanted to read them ever sense I heard that you and Eleon where writing these to eachother and now I can! How very creat- I mean, Bacon's Predictios!!! *Heh* I love um! Keep on writing! God bless ~Arwen

Author's reply

*blushes* I got a Bacon's Predictions! YOu must like them, huh? *grins* Eleon and I had such fun writing these. Thanks for reviewing, dear! God bless, Ellie

Queen Galadriel · 19 October 2006 · Chapter 10: Sam

*grins* Aaawww! These are soooo cuuuute! :) :) You both write your characters very well, and these letters look so real! I love Sam's spelling; that's a really nice touch. And I love that it's getting better. The part about the song and then Sam giving Rosie the poem was so sweet! Hahaha! And now they're both stuck in bed, Sam for a lot longer than Frodo. Poor dear, he'll be down for at least a month with that broken ankle. But it's good that they have their correspondence to cheer them up. Keep it up! I love it! God bless, Galadriel

Author's reply

Thanks! I'm glad you think we write our characters well. We really enjoy doing it! God bless, Ellie

shirebound · 19 October 2006 · Chapter 10: Sam

Awww, they're both cheering each other up from their 'sick beds', and looking forward to the next letter so much! That Shire Post delivery service is really humming along. What sweet letters.

Author's reply

Gotta love the Shire Post! Thanks for reviewing! God bless, Ellie

Larner · 18 October 2006 · Chapter 8: Sam

Oh, love the walk that "just happened," and the poem that "just happened to be in his pocket" as well. I see that love indeed came early between Sam and Rosie here. Heh!

Author's reply

Of course it "just happened." Lol! I laughed so hard when Eleon sent me this one. God bless, Ellie

Larner · 18 October 2006 · Chapter 7: Frodo

And peace of mind is coming to our Frodo.

Antane · 18 October 2006 · Chapter 8: Sam

I love these letters! They are so sweet and friendly. And Sam's spelling is certainly improving. So sweet of Frodo to compliment him on that and confiding his fears of being in the water again and Sam assuring him he'll do fine and signing one of his letters Your Samwise. Brothers already! Many thanks for your kind reviews of Love Endures and Via! :) Namarie, God bless, Antane

Author's reply

Glad you're enjoying these, they were such fun to write. I love writing with someone who views the characters like I do, it makes it so much fun! You're welcome for the reviews! I haven't been reading much lately, though, since I've been really busy. I'm trying to catch up this weekend. God bless, Ellie

Dreamflower · 18 October 2006 · Chapter 8: Sam

These are so cute! I love the time-frame you have chosen to explore, the year after Frodo went to live with Bilbo, and Pippin being a new baby, and little Merry. Frodo's letters are so gentle and interested in Sam, and I love Sam's efforts to improve his spelling. Adorable.

Author's reply

Thanks! I've been wanting to do a story about this time for a long while, and only just recently thought of asking Eleon to write it with me. God bless, Ellie

harrowcat · 18 October 2006 · Chapter 8: Sam

I am sure that Sam is right about trusting Frodo more than Merry. Bilbo has been a good influence, not to mention Sam himself. Loved Sam's encouragement on the swimming - the utter confidence that Frodo will do more than fine!

Author's reply

Glad you like it! Thanks for reviewing! God bless, Ellie

shirebound · 18 October 2006 · Chapter 8: Sam

I hope Sam or Frodo kept these letters! What a sweet correspondence to look back on.

Author's reply

I'm sure they did. I don't think either of them would want to throw them out. Thanks for reviewing! God bless, Ellie

Larner · 17 October 2006 · Chapter 6: Sam

Our Sam is up a tree? Now that's as unexpected to me as him wanting to swim with Frodo! Nice learning of his spelling as he goes along.

Author's reply

Yes, Sam is up a tree... we will see where that's headed. I think Sam would have said he'd go swim with Frodo.... until he got to the water, that is. Lol! I love how Eleon did his spelling! I'm glad everyone else agrees. God bless, Ellie

shirebound · 17 October 2006 · Chapter 6: Sam

Awww, these are cute. :D

Author's reply

Thanks! I'm having such fun writing them with Eleon! God bless, Ellie

harrowcat · 17 October 2006 · Chapter 4: Sam

What is srange, is that, in all the story's , the people that go on these adventures, don't seem to plan them. But, I supose that is Merry for you, he hass just got to have all his things in order, planed, and werking like a littlle grane mill. Yes that is Merry - he even had the beginning of the quest all planned out! It was a shame that it wouldn't stay all nice and controlled! Oh well, then it wouldn't have made a story worth the telling! Lots of fun! Well done both of you.

Author's reply

Indeed! Eleon pulled that out in this letter, and I hadn't even realized it before! Merry does plan everything, doesn't he? Thank you very much from both of us! God bless, Ellie

Antane · 16 October 2006 · Chapter 4: Sam

Sweet letters between these two! Like the spelling errors - something very sweet about that and that they are corresponding and the warmth and friendliness in Frodo's letters and the words of 'wisdom' (not quite) that Sam quotes. I can very easily believe he had heard those around him and that's a shame actually because he would absorb everything like a sponge at that age, but he's also absorbing Frodo's love to and Frodo is absorbing his. Certainly good for each other, they are! Looking forward to more! :) Namarie, God bless, Antane

Author's reply

Thank you, dear! When I suggested Sam had just learned to write, she just ran with it, and that's what she wrote. I loved it! We are having such fun writing these, more should be here soon! God bless, Ellie p.s. Eleon thanks you as well.

Larner · 16 October 2006 · Chapter 0: The Story Behind the Letters

Lovely premise.

Author's reply

Thank you! It just kind of popped into my head one day, and Eleon agreed to write them with me! It's really fun! God bless, Ellie
