· Chapter 18: The End
Oh, I forgot I hadn't finished this! I was missing a lot! All these are sooooo sweeeeeet!!! :) Poor Sam, to fall out of a tree! No wonder he'd never want to climb a tree again! That was always my fear when I was little and my brother dared me to climb to such and such a branch, in these little skinny sapling things!
So funny to hear Bilbo described as bouncy. LOL! I guess he is, in some ways. And I love the little friendly argument as to whether Sam can be compared to Bilbo as far as "nice-ness" (not a word, I know) goes.
Love the indoor adventures :), and that Ted does have a lot of nerve, mean thing. *gives him the glare* Unfortunately we learn later that Ted and Lotho made a very horribly effective team; where Lotho led, Ted followed. I can't bring myself to pity them.
Love the vocab lessons! Reminds me of what my grandma did for me when I was little. I used to be southern to the extreme LOL, and every time I went to her house she'd sit me down, give me something fun to do, and while I did it, she taught me new words and proper grammar and vocabulary. :)
I can really sympathize (empathize?) with Sam here. I love fussing over my dear ones, but when I get fussed over...I *hate* it! It's so *embarrassing*!
Also love the bit about Sam not wanting to leave the Shire unless he was with Frodo, and Frodo saying what adventures they had. They had no idea they really would, and it would be more than they could have imagined then.
And dear Sam, finally admitting how much he needs his Frodo. And Frodo must have been so torn, though he'd never tell either Sam or Merry so. So sweet of Merry to realise that it was important that Frodo be with Sam as well and let him go. And the end was absolutely priceless! Tell Eleon I said she did a perfectly marvelous job and brought tears to my eyes with it.
Again, you two did super, and this looks like it was tremendous fun. Now I want to do something like this...I think I might have to coax FB a lot first though, and maybe that's not such a good idea right now? :)
God bless,
Galadriel :)

Yes, only for Frodo would he leave home and the Shire, but he would indeed come home again. And Lotho and Ted DID scheme up a storm, didn't they?
Glad he is able to wish the right wish in spite of his own desires.
Author's reply
Yes, they did! *shudders* I am glad of that too. Sam's a very good hobbit. Thanks for reviewing!
God bless,

Frodo must be feling very torn - both his friends need him and he can't split himself in two. Well done Merry!
Author's reply
Yeah, Merry understands that, I think. He'd love to have Frodo there with him, though. Thanks for reviewing!

Oh poor Sam - trying so very hard not to be selfish and jellous but it comes out at last.

He tried very hard, didn't he? But he does need his Frodo some times. Thanks for reviewing!

Trust Frodo to hold out hope to Sam. Poor Merry I hope the fever abates soon. True, those two nasty people could either hurt each other or band together to be even worse.
Author's reply
Yeah, them together would be bad! I'm sure Merry will get well soon!

Oh Sam! So modest yet wise, so perceptive but still able to be feeling a little lonely.
Author's reply
Everyone gets lonely, only Sam is less likely to say so. I'm glad Eleon had him say so here. Made it much more interesting, I think. *grins*

I love the indoor adventures. Hobbit youngsters are always able to make the best of a bad situation.
Author's reply
I'm glad you liked that! My friends and I used to do that all the time with our stuffed animals when we were little. *grins* Thanks for reviewing!

Author's reply
Eleon says thank you! She said she 'had a fantabulish time writing Sam!' Lol! It appears I've taken your role for this one, eh? Sorry 'bout that! *grins at you*

I forgot to mention - you can't have it end here! Do another one with them taking care of each other, reading that book etc. :) And that was nice of Sam to say he hoped Merry would get better and for Merry to realize that Frodo should go back.
Author's reply
Lol! We were thinking of doing another scene at the end, but I don't know if we will, unless it's in a differnt story. We're already planning another story to write, and we're pretty excited about it! More Frodo and Sam stuff! *sighs and hugs hobbits*

Oh, Sam, how could you ever doubt? But it's good to have that bond affirmed. Remember this, you two - nothing can sever it no matter what distance physically separates you, your hearts will ever be united.
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
A bond that will definately last a long time. I love how Eleon wrote this ending scene.

Which is probably why I need you the most. You keep me out of trouble.
I do believe that the reason Iluvatar created Sam was to love Frodo. This is just wonderful that they both know how dependent and needed they are to each other, as if there was any doubt but cute that they write so to each other. Lovely!
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
Indeed, where would they be without each other? I think that is exactly why Iluvitar created Sam. It's so wonderful! I'm so glad you're enjoying!

p.s. I'm glad you're enjoying the verses as well! I LOVE that verse you pointed out in your reply. One of my favorites!

I love this whole letter! Sam admiting he's going to be selfish (as if he has a selfish bone in his body, dear me), saying how much he needs Frodo and how he would never leave the Shire unless it was with him and that Frodo would make sure he enjoyed himself.
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
Eleon says to say thank you very much! She's so glad everyone is liking her letters! And I am too, I really enjoy her writng, and I"m glad everyone else is as well!

Sam waited to read the elvish story until Frodo came home. He couldn't possibly read it himself anyway, with all those tears of joy, contentedness, and overwhelming love blocking his sight.
"Sam! Mister Frodo's back!"
Yay! This leaves me with such a happy feeling.
Author's reply
*bounces* Eleon was so excited that every one liked her writing. She wrote this ending all by herself, and we were going to do another scene, but I liked this one too much! I like happy feelings!

So nice to see another batch of letters! I love that Frodo is enjoying translating his tale because of who he is doing it for, saying he is missing Sam and having fun being sick with Merry. I remember my sister and I being sick once and we were competing for who could have a higher fever (not that we were encouraging it of course, it just happened) and it's always good to use that opportunity to catch up on reading!
Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Author's reply
Lol! That's funny! I don't remember if my little brother and I ever competed for higest fever, but we've competed to see who could stay sick the longest and not have to do school work. Glad you're liking these!

I am glad that Sam does get to learn some elvish. I would love to learn it too but RL gets in the way as well as reading these many wonderful stories. I will just have to get by with the little I learn from them.
And Ted is really, really nasty!
Author's reply
Elvish would be fun to learn! At the moment I am learning Latin, and that is somewhat like Elvish. I really like it. But I would like to learn Sindarin next. Thanks for reviewing!

Nah, I'm with Sam--leave them with no other company than their own, and let them suffer so no one else has to. I'll admit I tend to get vindictive with such folk, but want them to punish themselves. Heh!
And let's have the animals fight a nice, scary dragon that they conquer with ease! Yes!
Author's reply
Lol! I doubt they'd be able to stand each other, even though they are much alike! If you have an adventure, you must have a dragon, right? Or so Frodo and Merry think. Lol!

Ah, Ted isn't a very nice Hobbit, is he? And I'd be wary of any get-well message that might originate with him.
Love the little "inside" adventures they must experience as Frodo and Merry can't go out right now.
Author's reply
Yes indeed. Not very nice at all. I used to do that with my best friend if we didn't feel good or if it was raining outside, we'd play with our stuffed animals and have all sorts of adventures!
