Linda Hoyland · 23 December 2008 · Chapter 62: Celebration: Preparation (A.+ Arwen + Faramir + Legolas)

You have me wondering now what happened at the event.I liked the "battle" between Aragorn and Faramir and Arwen.

Linda Hoyland · 23 December 2008 · Chapter 61: Rogue: Stick-at-naught Strider (A. + Bill Ferny + Men)

Poor Aragorn to be so slandered.I'd love to know what happened to Ferny and his mates once Aragorn was king!

Linda Hoyland · 23 December 2008 · Chapter 60: Knife: Morgul-blade (A. + hobbits)

I love seeing Aragorn working some magic.

meckinock · 22 December 2008 · Chapter 61: Rogue: Stick-at-naught Strider (A. + Bill Ferny + Men)

Poor Aragorn; he's got an uphill battle between fending off Ferny and herding hobbits.

Author's reply

Such a pity he couldn't give Ferny some well-earned justice. "Herding hobbits"! Heh, how very true.

meckinock · 22 December 2008 · Chapter 60: Knife: Morgul-blade (A. + hobbits)

Interesting; it's always been intriguing that Aragorn seemed to have prior experience with Morgul blades.

Author's reply

The possibilities on where he encountered his previous experiences with the Nazgul (and their blades) are truly endless, as well.

Independence1776 · 22 December 2008 · Chapter 61: Rogue: Stick-at-naught Strider (A. + Bill Ferny + Men)

And we all know how well that turned out... Interesting little ficlet! ~ Indy

Author's reply

Thank you; I am glad that you enjoyed it.

Estelcontar · 22 December 2008 · Chapter 61: Rogue: Stick-at-naught Strider (A. + Bill Ferny + Men)

A very perceptive take on the moments before Aragorn meets the hobbits. And it ties perfectly with Aragorn's mention of his looks being against him, and of the desire of a hunted man to be trusted. Well done.

Author's reply

Thank you! I remembered that passage and wondered how many people distrusted him because he looked like a scoundrel.

Estelcontar · 22 December 2008 · Chapter 60: Knife: Morgul-blade (A. + hobbits)

Fortunately, Aragorn knew what a Morgul blade was and how to deal with it. A most excellently written gap filler.

Author's reply

Thank you very much :D

Larner · 22 December 2008 · Chapter 61: Rogue: Stick-at-naught Strider (A. + Bill Ferny + Men)

Indeed--"Stick-at-naught" Strider's far better than Bill Ferny could ever prove, much less a roomful of squinty-eyed Southerners! And he did try to keep these Hobbits out of danger!

Author's reply

It always kills me when I read about Butterbur stopping Strider from warning the hobbits. And while Bill Ferny is a no-good man, he is one of my favorite unknown characters XD

inzilbeth · 20 December 2008 · Chapter 60: Knife: Morgul-blade (A. + hobbits)

I loved this. Aragorn would indeed recognise the significance of the Morgul blade and how well you tell it. Well done.

Author's reply

Thanks :) Sometimes I wish we could see more of LOTR from his point of view, but all the gaps in there are perfect for us fan fic writers to interpret :D

inzilbeth · 20 December 2008 · Chapter 59: Secrecy: A New Name (A. + Elrond + Gilraen)

A difficult choice, well reasoned here. This was another burden for Gilraen but Elrond must have been a tower of strength for her.

Larner · 20 December 2008 · Chapter 60: Knife: Morgul-blade (A. + hobbits)

Ah, yes--the hilt and the horror it conveyed. Nicely done.

Author's reply

Thank you once again for your input, Larner.

Larner · 19 December 2008 · Chapter 59: Secrecy: A New Name (A. + Elrond + Gilraen)

Yes, I can certainly see this happening! Sad but necessary.

Estelcontar · 19 December 2008 · Chapter 59: Secrecy: A New Name (A. + Elrond + Gilraen)

This must have been a terrible time for Gilraen. Thankfully, she had Elrond and his sons to support her and Aragorn. I liked the way you portrayed this moment. You managed to show Gilraen's grief and strenght without going all melodramatic.

shirebound · 18 December 2008 · Chapter 59: Secrecy: A New Name (A. + Elrond + Gilraen)

What an interesting conversation. She and Aragorn were both so young to have their family shattered like this, but another branch of their family was ready to welcome them.

Estelcontar · 2 December 2008 · Chapter 58: Prank: Diplomatic Tensions (A. + Éomer + Arwen + Lothíriel)

This is delicious, Lairë. Like Arwen and Lothíriel, I really, really enjoyed listening to a worried Aragorn fussing over Eldarion.

harrowcat · 1 December 2008 · Chapter 58: Prank: Diplomatic Tensions (A. + Éomer + Arwen + Lothíriel)

Good giggle to take me down the motorway - thanks!

shirebound · 1 December 2008 · Chapter 58: Prank: Diplomatic Tensions (A. + Éomer + Arwen + Lothíriel)

"I suppose we should tell them that we can hear every word, but I am afraid that this conversation is simply too entertaining." *giggles* This is really cute.

Larner · 1 December 2008 · Chapter 58: Prank: Diplomatic Tensions (A. + Éomer + Arwen + Lothíriel)

Oh, I love the wives and their joke on their husbands! Heh! They know, even if the husbands don't! Heh!

Estelcontar · 25 November 2008 · Chapter 57: Sky: Gil-Estel (A. + Elrond)

A lovely vignette Lairë. I found the image of Estel pinching himself to keep from sleeping delightful. Trust wise and loving Elrond to seek to impress on Estel's mind to recall to 'recall the days of joy and light', to 'hold on to hope', and not to give in to hopelessness.

Author's reply

Thank you, Estelcontar; I think that holding onto hope was one of the only ways Aragorn survived some of his toughest years.

Larner · 25 November 2008 · Chapter 57: Sky: Gil-Estel (A. + Elrond)

The star for which he was, in part, named. Now, to learn to know the hope he himself embodies. Lovely.

Author's reply

I imagine that the hope itself faltered here and there, but the only way he was able to survive for so long was likely because of hope. Thanks for reviewing.

inzilbeth · 25 November 2008 · Chapter 57: Sky: Gil-Estel (A. + Elrond)

This was absolutely delightful, Laire. What a wonderful lesson for Estel. Well done.

Author's reply

Thank you, Inzilbeth; I am glad you enjoyed it.

Lindelea · 25 November 2008 · Chapter 57: Sky: Gil-Estel (A. + Elrond)

If your own days ever become dark and hopeless, just remember to look upon Gil-Estel and recall the days of joy and light. Ah, lovely. Hope looking upon hope, and storing it away in his heart. Nicely done.

Nefhiriel · 25 November 2008 · Chapter 57: Sky: Gil-Estel (A. + Elrond)

Nicely done. I liked how this had the feel of the books (i.e. Gilraen lives), but didn't lose the feeling of MC-style closeness between Elrond and Estel. Very sweet moment between them. =)

Author's reply

Well, the MC-style closeness was taken from the books; it says explicitly in the Appendices that Elrond took Aragorn and raised him as a son. *g* Glad you enjoyed it.

harrowcat · 25 November 2008 · Chapter 57: Sky: Gil-Estel (A. + Elrond)

Thank you my friend. I needed this one.

Author's reply

I am glad I could be of service.
