I am not sure that anyone is ever ready for what change brings even though it might be nothing but joy. But you are right - both Aragorn and the city is ripe for change.
Author's reply
Oh yes, change can be difficult, even happy ones. I can only imagine what type of change marriage brings! Thanks for the review :)

Though I know this story so well, your retelling of this moment still caused a pitter patter in my heart. LOVELY!
Author's reply
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

This just broke my heart. Beautiful. A reminder of her beloved Arathorn. To look upon Aragorn brings her joy and sorrow. There are not enough Gilraen and Aragorn stories. This was just beautiful.
Author's reply
Yea, I have always been interested in the older Gilraen, when Aragorn was older. I'm glad I could add my own tribute. Thank you for the review.
Oh man.... that's awful. I mean... the scene telling was wonderful... but the sadness and waste of the scene... sigh.

· Chapter 10: Magic: Hands of a Healer (A. + OCs)
A very good way to win over your future subjects - and to prove yourself king through the bringing to life of a legend.
Author's reply
*nod* Yes, it definitely worked well; Aragorn's selflessness finally paid off ;)

· Chapter 10: Magic: Hands of a Healer (A. + OCs)
Wonderful. We read that he laboured far into the night, but not the details of those labours. And we can imagine the word spreading far and wide, until, by the time of the coronation, the people of the City have fully accepted that their long-awaited King has returned.
Author's reply
Yea, him healing many of his citizens throughout the whole night most definitely lifted his popularity with the people.

Loyal Halbarad. He must have had his doubts about this! It doesn't seem the most sensible thing to do.
Worked, though.
Author's reply
I believe only someone like Aragorn could have made it work. Can't see really anyone else directly opposing Sauron; no wonder Halbarad thought he was mad!

Hes, Halbarad would have had experience with his cousin's great will. And Aragorn is one to consider deeply before doing in most cases.
Author's reply
Yea, Aragorn never just jumps into a situation; not at his age... perhaps when he was younger he learned a few valuable lessons.

Squee. Don't stop now.

*grins* Glad you enjoyed. I'm not quite sure if I'm ever going to write Aragorn confronting Sauron book-verse; that would be quite the challenge.

· Chapter 8: Hidden: Line of Kings (A. + Elrond)
Information received numbly. Probably better than vocally at this point. It must have come as a dreadful shock. Followed by an wave of horror at the responsibility. Possibly accompanied by pride. But it will take him time to adjust.
Author's reply
Seeing how he was feeling the next day while he was wandering the forests of Rivendell, the pride came pretty quickly. I think realization of the responsibility *really* hit him once he was with the Rangers, personally.

What a shock this must have been for Aragorn! He's making his way as an adult Estel, establishing his identity for himself, and suddenly his world is turned upside down. And as Elrond thinks, what a burden. But even at 20 Aragorn must have been strong.
Author's reply
Since the Dunedain live longer than mortal men, I imagine that at age 20 he was like a normal 18 year old, and being only a year and a half away from that age, I can only imagine having that large of a responsibility suddenly dumped onto my shoulders. But yes, Aragorn is strong enough even then, though he grows stronger as he grows older.

for eighteen years he has not been called by his true name
That's a powerful line, and what a lot for 'Aragorn' to think about! The days following this one must have been interesting indeed...
Author's reply
Oh yes, I would imagine so, with his lineage and Arwen coming into his life! I imagine there would be a few sleepless nights.

I like this Ainu Laire. A heavy burden indeed for Aragorn but it must also have been a grevious burden waiting to decide when to tell him!
Author's reply
I would definitely imagine so, but when the time came, Elrond probably knew that this was the time to tell.
