I have always felt, Prim, that poetry is your special gift. Glad to see you back to writing LOTR. This was magnificent.

I have always felt, Prim, that poetry is your special gift. Glad to see you back to writing LOTR. This was magnificent.
Antane · 19 February 2009 · Chapter 12: Nodding by the Fire
It heals the heart of journeying just to watch him sleep. How sweet! A loving tribute to one long missed. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
Dreamflower · 19 February 2009 · Chapter 14: Brandy Hall
What a perfect tribute to the home of Merry's heart! Love to see a similar tribute to the Great Smials and to Bag End!
Dreamflower · 19 February 2009 · Chapter 15: The Burly Axegrinder
I love "Errantry" (Earendil was a mariner not quite as much) but there's no doubt it's a *really* difficult scheme to pull off. You do it brilliantly, and it's amazing how well it fits Gimli!
Dreamflower · 19 February 2009 · Chapter 17: Thorns
Oh, my word! This is not only visually stunning, showing the sharpness of the theme, but the imagery is heartbreaking. Wow.
Antane · 18 February 2009 · Chapter 17: Thorns
one back to still be leaned upon, one mouthful of scant water to share, one spark of faith to carry, one bleeding hand to hold. Lovely! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
shirebound · 18 February 2009 · Chapter 17: Thorns
How beautiful and poignant. You have a real gift
Larner · 17 February 2009 · Chapter 17: Thorns
Oh--Frodo and Sam and the Star seen from Mordor! Beautiful!
Larner · 17 February 2009 · Chapter 16: The Way Home
Ah--so beautiful! Thank you for this one!
Larner · 17 February 2009 · Chapter 15: The Burly Axegrinder
Ah--worthy of the Master! And such a succinct depiction of the race of the Three Hunters and the encounter with Éomer and his folk!
Larner · 17 February 2009 · Chapter 14: Brandy Hall
Love the toast and am impressed by the rhyming pattern! Very nicely stated! Have done so few poems, and find they don't always go where I wish them to go. Thanks so for this lovely tribute to Brandy Hall and our beloved Meriadoc the Magnificent! Elanor would love this, I think.
Dreamflower · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 16: The Way Home
This is marvelously constructed, as your poetry always is! I love structured poetry, and in this, the imagery is just perfect! There were ships going forth from the Havens, Filled with those weighted down and bent, Each bow in the waves a release of the stays, Each sea-wind a breath heaven-sent. The metaphor there is just right, and I could imagine the weary voyagers reviving as they sailed.
Larner · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 16: The Way Home
You think that Cirdan himself at the last chose not to sail, remained here in Middle Earth to fade but keep somewhat alive the memories? The cadences and rhyme schemes I am certain would have delighted the Master himself.
Larner · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 3: In the Garden 3: Ithilien
How the call to renewed life and fulfilment is shown in this poem. Thank you.
Larner · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 2: In the Garden 2: Faramir
The lack of acceptance from before contrasted with the acceptance of Eowyn at least now gives him reason to live.
Larner · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 1: In the Garden 1: Eowyn
And so healing finds the White Lady, her own company a balm to the soul who bids her walk with him.
Larner · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 10: Pippin in Gondor
So true the rambling of thoughts, come full circle again and again, with the plaintive worry for the others, and the worry as to where Merry has got to in the midst of these last days....
Larner · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 5: Wormtongue
Save the serpent is about to be illumnated by the Heart of Fire, new come. Saruman wrought well, but the light of Day itself shows the trick of it.
Larner · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 6: Galadriel's Message
The trees and the stones will remember. How wonderful a weaving of text into this poetry!
Larner · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 8: Two Such Friends
This most beautiful and unusual and needed of friendships, of two peoples who will fade into obscurity as the time of Men at last comes.
Larner · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 9: Seabird's Cry
This one I've read before, this expression of Legolas's own sea longing. And I love it as well the second time as I did the first.
Larner · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 12: Nodding by the Fire
Our so-well-beloved Bilbo.
Larner · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 7: The Banks of the Anduin
Frodo, at the moment Legolas kills the first fell beast carrying the Nazgul west of the River. How very hobbity that he thinks to dig down into the earth to hide! And he is so clearly identifying with Legolas and the nature of Elves.
Larner · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 13: The Havens
This one truly has me in tears, Primsong. What a beautiful expression of Frodo's leaving, and the reason so many choose to leave with him. Thank you so very much. This has to be one of the most beautiful LOTR poems I've read by any but the Master himself. And I hope his birthday brought you joy.
Larner · 4 January 2007 · Chapter 4: Lothliorien
What a wonderful look at this Elf Haven east of the Sea, the reflection of the gardens of the West. Thank you, Primsong.
