Starfire_Moonlight · 26 January 2006 · Chapter 17: Namarie

That was so beautiful and so sad! I was in tears reading through the whole thing, and I don't easily cry. I wish Merry, Pippin and Sam could go with Frodo too. It was really sweet that Aragorn and Arwen came to say good-bye to Frodo as well. Btw, your elvish is wonderful, have you been taking lessons from a certain Baggins?

Author's reply

Elvish lessons from a Baggins? I wish! :) Thank you and thank you for your tears! You honor me. Namarie, God bless, Antane

Frodo Baggins · 21 January 2006 · Chapter 6: A Time for Joy

My Dear Antane! Oh, you have my heart simply bursting with joy! I am so happy that Frodo got to get a small taste of happiness. Well, a large taste actually. Hannon le. But again, something (maybe the omnious sentence at the end of this chapter) tells me that it is again the calm before the storm. Well, I had better go read more! Hannon le, mell min! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Larner · 20 January 2006 · Chapter 16: The Announcement

Of course Sam would figure it out, and Pippin would be the one to bring it out into the open. Needed but still painful.

harrowcat · 20 January 2006 · Chapter 16: The Announcement

I am so glad that the truth is out at last. No more secrets or worrying about how they will react. Lovely Antane.

Starfire_Moonlight · 20 January 2006 · Chapter 16: The Announcement

You made this chapter so sad. The way Sam found out that Frodo was leaving was a cleaver way to tell him without really 'telling' him. I don't think he could.

Queen Galadriel · 20 January 2006 · Chapter 16: The Announcement

Oh, I've just sat here and cried my heart out over this chapter! Oh, I couldn't have done it. I couldn't have been as strong as Frodo. I only feel a taste of that pain, reading this, and the less wise part of me thinks that if I really felt it, it would kill me. You make the grief very, very real. Oh dear...I do hope my Elvish is correct. I had better go check now. Namarie, God bless, Galadriel

Starfire_Moonlight · 18 January 2006 · Chapter 15: Meant to Be

Another wonderful addition. Poor Sam, having dreams as well. It's not fair, not for him nor Frodo. After what they did, they still shouldn't be haunted by dreams and such. And, like it did the first time, it's going to break Sam's heart to learn that Frodo's leaving.

Larner · 17 January 2006 · Chapter 15: Meant to Be

Yes, the both of them are torn in two, I think. And good use of the Light of all three--Frodo, Sam, and Gandalf.

Larner · 17 January 2006 · Chapter 14: The Decision is Made

I see you are doing some wish fulfillment, bringing Aragorn and Arwen to say goodbye as well. It is good to see the choice laid out so openly.

Queen Galadriel · 17 January 2006 · Chapter 15: Meant to Be

Oh! This chapter had me in tears. If I were in Frodo's place, I don't think I could make that decision, even with the pain. It's unfathomable! And you portray that very well. The decision seemed like it would be relatively easy (or as easy as it possibly could be), given that he would find healing in the West and Sam would one day join him there. But you really balanced things out with the nightmare. I say, well done, even while it makes the story sadder. :) Namarie, God bless, Galadriel P.S. Tried singing the song with the Elvish phrazes, and it sounds pretty good. :)

harrowcat · 17 January 2006 · Chapter 15: Meant to Be

The time between making a decision and carrying out can also be agonising - as my friend who has just resigned her job is finding out. All I can do is hope to be as good a friend as Gandalf.

harrowcat · 16 January 2006 · Chapter 14: The Decision is Made

Decisions to move on from the status quo are never easy no matter how joyful the next stage may seem. When it is a seeming choice between an unbearable situation and total uncertainty discernment of the right choice is so much harder. And it is often the little things that must be left behind that cause the most heartache. The fear that good friendships and relationships will change, lessen and become more tenuous can be the greatest thing that holds you back from making the decision you know is right. Thank you for showing this so well.

Starfire_Moonlight · 15 January 2006 · Chapter 14: The Decision is Made

That day when Frodo leaves will defiently not be a pleasent one, for anyone. I hate to admit it, but it makes me both sad and relieved that he's leaving. I get sad when I read the books then I cry during that part in the movie *blushes from admitting that* Anyway, another great chapter and more wise talk from Gandalf. :)

Queen Galadriel · 15 January 2006 · Chapter 14: The Decision is Made

I didn't think I could bear this part of the story, when it came. It tears me up every time I read it in the books. But I feel almost...relieved, now that it's come to it. Frodo really must go, hard as it will be. Now, how is he going to tell Sam? Namarie, God bless, Galadriel

Starfire_Moonlight · 14 January 2006 · Chapter 13: The Thirteenth

Once again, sorry for not reviewing. I really didn't want to miss any updates and looked what happened! Anyway, wonderful chapter, as always. Too bad Frodo can't just have peace after everything he did and not be troubled by these nightmares. but, Sam is always there to help him through. :D

Author's reply

Welcome back! I was just thinking about you today that I hadn't received any reviews recently and then you bless me with another! Hannon le! Yes, terribly unfair, isn't that, that Frodo sacrifices everything to get to Mordor and then discovers he still has to sacrifice even more, but thank God that Sam is there! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Frodo Baggins · 13 January 2006 · Chapter 5: Birthday Gifts

Oh, my dear Antane! Hannon le, mell min! Hannon le for giving me such an encouraging, wonderful thing to read. I am going through this one rather slowly, though. Unlike the first part where I was watching my inbox like a hawk to see the next update. You are ever bringing me closer to tears, and one day my dignity will be completely dashed and I will break down in tears right here at the computer. But that is all right. Thank you again for beta reading, hopefully, I will soon be an author myself. Namarie, mell min! God Bless, Frodo Baggins

Elanor Silmariën · 12 January 2006 · Chapter 13: The Thirteenth

That made me cry! It was beautiful. And I loved the songs by Galadriel, they're so perfect for your story. Elanor : )

Author's reply

Hannon le! You honor me with your tears and I'm sure the queen appreciates your support too! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Queen Galadriel · 11 January 2006 · Chapter 13: The Thirteenth

Oh, poor Frodo! That's worse even than the sixth illness. And poor Sam. I don't believe there's a worse feeling than to watch someone you love suffer and not be able to do anything, even physically touch them, without causing distress. And I won't soon forget this: “I didn’t know, not all the time. I’m so sorry. It must have been horrible for you, but I heard you sing all those wonderful songs. Thank you. They were the only things that kept me from going completely mad. How many more times is this going to happen, Sam?” And I worried I wouldn't be able to write enough in time. I'd write a million to hear those words. :-) Thank you for that, and loved this chapter on the whole, of course! Namarie, mellon nin! God bless, Galadriel

harrowcat · 11 January 2006 · Chapter 13: The Thirteenth

Oh, poor Frodo. He has taken the step of trusting Sam with is feelings about the ring. Can he go that bit further?

Larner · 11 January 2006 · Chapter 13: The Thirteenth

The decision is being made, and yet he knows that Sam will always be there, even when physically apart.

Larner · 11 January 2006 · Chapter 12: A Terrible Secret

A wonderful use of the Thomas Aquinas prayer, and a good use of confession.

Author's reply

Hannon le, Larner! The prayer is part of what we say after Mass during a monthly Day of Recollection my parents and I go to and when I searched for the text on the web, I found this other one so combined parts of both. Thought it fit very well and am so glad you agree! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Larner · 11 January 2006 · Chapter 11: Baptism

And we all need that cleansing. Loved the quotes.

harrowcat · 10 January 2006 · Chapter 12: A Terrible Secret

That really is a lovely adaptation of those prayers Antane and perfect for the Frodo in all of us. And I would love to hear some of the verses, especially this one, set to music. Oh well, the music in my head will have to do for now.

Author's reply

Hannon le, harrowcat! Appreciate all your support! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Queen Galadriel · 10 January 2006 · Chapter 12: A Terrible Secret

Oh, Antane, how precious, how beautiful! I'm glad Frodo finally told Sam about the desire he still had for the Ring, and as I was reading this I just wanted to hug Frodo and say, "Oh, my dear, you really don't realise just how much you're loved, do you? But just as the song says, nothing you could say or do could quench that love." Oh, I do hope things will get a little easier for him now. Can't wait for more! God bless, Galadriel

Frodo Baggins · 10 January 2006 · Chapter 4: Held

Oh Antane! This chapter has left me nearly speechless. The way you do Rosie is wonderful. When Sam went to Frodo...the whole part was so heart wreching and sad and sweet and....it was wonderful. I am especially impressed with the way Frodo became the comforter for once to his Sam. I don't like the picture of Frodo always getting comfort and never giving it. I also loved the little spark of teasing you gave Frodo at the end. No, you didn't need to say it was a masterpiece of Queen Galadriel's, You always put them in the most wonderful places. Namarie, mell min! GOd Bless, Frodo Baggins
