Larner · 13 December 2005 · Chapter 4: Falling

Well, they are at last able to rejoice in one another once more; and then Glorfindel finally begins being honest with himself and her, and that pain is eased somewhat.

Author's reply

Men always hide their 'feelings'. :0) Its like they are evil or something so they just don't deal with them.

Larner · 13 December 2005 · Chapter 3: Fleeting Moments

Love seeing the two love stories told side by side. This is all I can read tonight--must try to catch up with the rest later.

Author's reply

I am glad you are enjoying it. Indil and Glorfindel wouldn't simply fade to the background and he's a mighty stubborn balrog slayer so I had to tell his story as well. :0)

Larner · 13 December 2005 · Chapter 2: Sacrifices

A terribly harsh fate; but at least he is now willing to accept there MIGHT be a future for the two of them.

Author's reply

Unfortunatly at Elrohir, its just one more thing he has no control over that brings about loss to him - like his mother's torture, her leaving M.E., Arwen's death, etc etc.

Larner · 12 December 2005 · Chapter 0: Prologue

A grievous report indeed; and her question remains valid.

Author's reply

Very true - much like the story of Melkor/Morgoth reminds me of the story of the devil - the fairest and most powerful, how far they fall.

Rhapsody · 6 December 2005 · Chapter 7: Facing the Enemy

Oh Alassante, this chapter is incredible. I can't believe the way you wrote Laureanna trip into the past of Arda. It is just simply amazing. The difference between 'peaceful' Elrohir and the bitter & watchful Elrohir is incredibly well written. Ah and, the heart to heart moment between Elladan and Elrohir, there is no better way to write brotherly (and a bond between twins) this way, you expressed the consequences of Elrohir's demise to Elladan in a very powerful and emotional way. I found myself, at a certain moment going like: you're such an idiot Elrohir, look what you're doing to your brother! This actually tells me how captivating your story is. Every chapter is a gem, it draws me into it straight away, and when I put it down again, I feel a bit disoriented... so two thumbs up here Alassante! I can't wait to see what will happen next, the parts between Gimli and Laureanna are priceless and the visuals you give us of the War of the Ring gives me a good idea how desperate the situation at that moment was. This, also combined with the future of Valinor... please update one of my favourite stories soon!

Author's reply

Thanks so much Rhaps. I'm glad your enjoying it. I love the twins and wanted to display the strong bond they had in a non-slashy twincest way that you always seem to see in fanfiction.

pipinheart · 20 November 2005 · Chapter 7: Facing the Enemy

This is so lovely.... You have to feel the pain Elrohir is going through, he feels he should have died instead of Arwen, ans Elladan is upset he didn't share it. Laureanna is put in a tough spot no-one she knows and you know she feels alone. Gimli is very suspicious of her, but Legolas wants to protect her as much as he can... She dreams what could come to pass, but is it really a dream is it something or someone trying to scare her away from her quest... It seems Elrohir is cold and arogant when she sees him again, and she puts him in his place...good for her...It seems he likes her and thinks she is familiar, that will come in handy for her.. Please continue, can't wait till you update...

I've been remiss in replying! I am glad you are enjoying it so far. I have enjoyed writing it. :0)

Jay of Lasgalen · 7 November 2005 · Chapter 6: Whispers of the Past

I'm really enjoying this story. Laurëanna's pain when she confronts Elrohir again/for the first time is very sad - as is his confusing sense of familiarity. I also liked the flashback to the battle with orcs at Rivendell, and Elrohir's growing recklessness in battle :( I'm looking forward to seing more of this complex situation. Jay

I love this story. I cannot wait for more! It is dark, haunting, beautiful, and so very well done. Keep up the good work and PLEASE update soon!

Thanks so much for your comments. I am glad you are enjoying it and hope you liked the next chapter as well. I will update more as soon as I can. :0)

pipinheart · 16 September 2005 · Chapter 6: Whispers of the Past

I love the segments with Laureanna and her parents and the life she had before... I was afraid legolas wouldn't believe her, and she had to be mean to Gimli... She is scared and she has a burden to carry and guilt if something goes wrong.. Gandalf at least felt something about her that was true... Please continue...

Author's reply

Thanks for continuing on this journey with us!

Lianna · 11 September 2005 · Chapter 5: A Band of Gold

*sigh* I suppose it was time to get on with it and have Laureanna go to Helm's Deep. If you didn't do it now, the pacing of the story would be off. But I shall miss hearing about the relationship between Indil and Glorfindel. How sad to think that the life they had together will no longer exist. :( I am looking forward to the rest of the story, though.

Author's reply

Don't worry, I will still show Indil and Glorfindel's past in the flashbacks and who knows what the future will bring! :0) Author Reply: Lianna - you left me a review on AFF on the most recent chapter but I didn't have an email to respond to you. Please email me (alassante7@yahoo.com) and I will answer your question.

pipinheart · 11 September 2005 · Chapter 5: A Band of Gold

I love the scense with Glorifindel and his life with his wife and baby daughter, you can tell how much he loved her the dy she was born. You feel for Laureanna as she is torn. Her love for Elrohir is strong and she is frightened. They find her in the city walls, and at first I thought she was in trouble when she asked for Legolas... I hope all goes all right... Please continue...

Author's reply

Glad you are still enjoying it!

pipinheart · 31 August 2005 · Chapter 4: Falling

This is just great! You can feel how everyone's emotions are tight...Elrohir finally gets his time alone with his wife... And she tells them all of the decisions. I kinda like the fact that somehow maybe all of them are meant for each other and perhaps will find a way back to each other... This is a real good story.... Update soon...

Author's reply

Thanks so much! Elrohir was very happy to be alone with her at last. hehe Glad you are still enjoying it.

pipinheart · 28 August 2005 · Chapter 3: Fleeting Moments

This is lovely...Lauraeanna has son many that love her. Her father and Husband were pushing her but they are afraid. I am glad the choice was granted, even though things could change they have the knowledge of remembering her. I feel for Elrohir, he is afraid for her and loves her so much...Please contine...

elliska · 25 August 2005 · Chapter 2: Sacrifices

You do a great job in this chapter showing how the decision Laurëanna must make tears up the wonderful little circle of family and friends that she has in Valinor, culminating, of course, with that concersation between her and Elrohir. It is especially poignant in contrast with the beginning of the chapter where we see exhausted Glorfindel and Indil arriving in Valinor and experiencing hope that we know is destined to be destroyed. Angst! Sorry to be so late reviewing this--you know how insane the last week has been for me because you heard the rants. :-)

Author's reply

No review is too late. Hopefully no author reply is either hehe

Daynawayna · 24 August 2005 · Chapter 2: Sacrifices

Wow. I'm bawling like a baby. This is NOT a story to read at work between reservations... "::sniffle:: Thank you for calling..::sniffle:: Reservations. This is Dayna..::weepy cracked voice:: may I have your name please? ::sniffle sniffle::" LOL OH my gosh this is just intense and deep and emotional and amazing and just... wow. I read your bio and I'm VERY glad your friend dragged you here; SHE'S to blame for my tears! LOL :D This is going to be such an amazing ride, I can hardly wait. Please don't wait too long to post! LOL

Author's reply

OOOPS!! Perhaps I should start posting a Kleenex warning on chapters! :0) There is one chapter I was crying as I wrote it. I am glad I am here too. Its a very nice site and I feel very welcome here!!

Daynawayna · 24 August 2005 · Chapter 1: Daughter of the House of the Golden Flower

CRIPES Alassante! This is just... I mean she... ummmm.... WOW. I'm just blown away! This is SO cool. I love the premise and how you've woven it together. Amazing. I like your ME take on Time Travel... very interesting. :) I can't wait to move to chapter 3! Of course, I'm reading at work between reservation calls, so this is a challenge!

Author's reply

Yeah - I took a little different approach on the dropped into Middle Earth scenario. I am glad you are enjoying it and thanks for such a great review!

Lianna · 23 August 2005 · Chapter 2: Sacrifices

I love your portrayal of the developing relationship between Indel and Glorfindel. Perhaps the saddest thing in this story is that if Laureanna succeeds, that relationship will never have existed -- at least not in this form. Of course, if she fails, far worse things will happen -- or will have already happened, depending on your point of view. Your description of Legolas is interesting and quite consistent with canon, I think. It seems to me that the Legolas of the books is often more of a wood-elf than a warrior, even though he is skillful and courageous in battle. The idea that he's an outdoorsman type who just happened to be naturally good with weapons seems to fit.

Author's reply

Legolas is a difficult character to write because you have book Legolas, movie Legolas, and fanon Legolas. I have written a combo of movie/fanon Legolas and a movie Legolas but the hardest part is writing book Legolas!

pipinheart · 23 August 2005 · Chapter 2: Sacrifices

This si wonderful but sad....I love Glorifindel and Indil, they are meant ot be together, but willll they truly if time is change how can the love they each deserve be? Elrohir...I feels so bad for him, poor him.... Elrohir loves his wife and is heartbroken about what Laureanna. He decision is most cruel she has to make and making it she asks for something to help ease the heartbreak. Elrohir was harsh with her, but he done it out of his love...And can he be right to have her try and have his past self fall in love with her... I was worried and scared for her and you have me to the end....Please continue....

Author's reply

Glad you are still enjoying it. Only time will tell for Glorfindel and Indil. :0)

Lianna · 22 August 2005 · Chapter 1: Daughter of the House of the Golden Flower

Wow. This is certainly one of the most ambitious fanfiction concepts that I have ever encountered. I'm certainly hooked. I can't wait to see where you take this idea.

Author's reply

Wow! I'm flattered! I am glad you like it. I have loved writing it so far.

elliska · 22 August 2005 · Chapter 1: Daughter of the House of the Golden Flower

The family and set of friends that you have built for your heroine Laurëanna in Valinor is a wonderful group, which make it all the harder to seem them sundered. Laurëanna has very difficult times ahead of her. Angst! :-)

Author's reply

You know how I love the angst!

elliska · 22 August 2005 · Chapter 0: Prologue

Hi Alassante! Oh yes, I have read this at another site and I remember when I first read this prologue--my jaw just hit the floor. And it did again on this reading. I do like the idea of 'if just one wrong decision had been made...' And you have exploited that well here. This is a very intense story.

Author's reply

Thanks El! :0)

pipinheart · 22 August 2005 · Chapter 1: Daughter of the House of the Golden Flower

This is very powerful story...So Many characters...I loved the story with Glorifindel and his to be wife and thier Daughter...Elrohir married her now sweet. But things turned dark where she will have to make a choice and leave to help chnage the past...Not to be known as Glorifndel's daugher, and will Elrohir loose his wife too...So sad... Please continue, couldn't put it down...

Author's reply

Thanks so much again! I have grown quite attached to Glorfindel and Indil. My main focus was Elrohir and Laureanna but Indil and Glorfindel have snuck in to borrow some spotline. I think the Balrog slayer will always be a spotline stealer!

pipinheart · 22 August 2005 · Chapter 0: Prologue

This was layer upon layer of horrible events that led to the destruction of Middle Earth... Very powerful...Loved it! Pleease continue...

Author's reply

Thanks so much. When I was telling people about this story they thought I was insane. One person told me that Legolas fans would lynch me if I posted the Prologue without Chapter 1. Just to be safe, thats what I did!!
