A most wonderful job of mixing Frodo's dreams and reality :) Scamp is a most intelligent pup and those Rangers are getting a wonderful experiance :) Gandalf? ;)

Pearl Took · 3 August 2005 · Chapter 9: Home and Hearth

However will he be satisfied with woodland fare indeed! Ah, our odd Tooks and Bagginses, but oh how the Shire and all of Middle earth has need of them :)

Lily Baggins · 3 August 2005 · Chapter 10: Between Worlds

Oh, this was a delicious chapter... sweet retching Frodo being comforted by Bilbo and Aragorn. Quite delicious . . . and Frodo was so cute when he awoke, too, all sleepy and just barely cognizant. *sighs happily*

eiluj · 2 August 2005 · Chapter 10: Between Worlds

Gandalf? Pretty please?

Breon Briarwood · 2 August 2005 · Chapter 10: Between Worlds

Oh poor Frodo, sick and spacey! I wonder how serious this illness is going to be for him. But at least he has plenty of friends to keep him company, including one very special, very smart puppy! Hm, a visitor? Let's see... Gandalf is too obvious. Could be another Ranger, but my guess would be Merry's father, Saradoc. :D

Tigger · 2 August 2005 · Chapter 10: Between Worlds

Oh no...Poor Frodo!! I hope the worst is over for him. Nice touch on was Estel *really* Estel or was he someone else because the trees showed Aragorn in a much different light to the young tween. Really liked that. What would they do w/out Scamp? Aragorn's right, she understands more than what Bilbo might think. For instance to know who exactly to go to for help for Frodo. I'm sure Merry will be more than happy to help introduce Aragorn's men to the concept of Second Breakfast w/great gusto. :oD Really loving this visit to this cuddly universe you've created. :oD

Pearl Took · 2 August 2005 · Chapter 8: The Pledge

This was sooo cool!!! Love the trees speaking through Frodo and their safe guarding the pin. Aragorn is so noble and Bilbo so wise. Wonderful!!!!

The Hobbit Waffle · 2 August 2005 · Chapter 10: Between Worlds

I'd give you some description if you give me some dialogue. ;) Ooo! Who could it be? I have no idea. Pippin? Sam? A person who is living? A person who is not living (that would be nasty and scary)? Saradoc? Could I just have a Lolly anyways?

Dreamflower · 2 August 2005 · Chapter 10: Between Worlds

Poor young Frodo! To be all confused between reality and his dreams like that! But he's getting lots of TLC from Estel, Bilbo and Scamp, so he should be fine. A guest? Gandalf, perhaps? Or Tom Bombadil? (I know two guesses are unfair, but they both kind of popped into my head at the same time.)

Andrea · 2 August 2005 · Chapter 10: Between Worlds

“Where am I?” He looked around wildly. “When?” Poor Frodo! Those dreams are very vivid - and strange. What about the boat? Is this the past or the future? To me, both seems possible. Scamp is a wonderful dog :) Concerning your question: I vote for Gandalf, or maybe Pippin - accompanied by an adult of course, for it's a long way to Crickhollow ;-)

Larner · 2 August 2005 · Chapter 10: Between Worlds

I must suppose the guest will be Gandalf, or at least I hope it is. Would love to see his wisdom and guidance applied here to the Dunedain brooch and the trees' message. Glad Frodo's throwing off of the sap (I can't truly consider it a poison) isn't as horrible as was that of Halbarad. And nice to see Scamp is house trained!

Lindelea · 2 August 2005 · Chapter 10: Between Worlds

Ummm. Gandalf?

SlightlyTookish · 2 August 2005 · Chapter 10: Between Worlds

Another vivid chapter. Frodo's dreams were so creepy, and isn't Scamp the best dog ever? What a smart girl she is! :) Ooh, a visitor! Well, I'm hoping for Pippin of course, but Gandalf would be wonderful as well :)

Amy · 2 August 2005 · Chapter 10: Between Worlds

"Good pup, Scamp, good job." And Rangers taking good dogs on their walk! The trees are sharing quite a lot of history with young Frodo. Seems like he's on the road to recovery . . . *looks suspiciously at shirebound* My guess is Gandalf. Or poss. Tom Bombadil. Hee! Lots o' fun! Amy

Lily · 2 August 2005 · Chapter 10: Between Worlds

Poor Frodo! How terrible to have dreams like this and be sick! I wonder, though, why he asked for Bilbo's age. Did the trees reveal other things to him as well? A visitor? This wouldn't be Gandalf, would it? Or maybe Saradoc? *is curious*

I have spent a fair amount of time catching up on this series of stories for I have quite recently stummbled upon the Hurt/Comfort community and subsequently this site. I have resigned myself to the fact that I must wait for the next chapter but I do it under duress =) Your writing flows very freely and I have fallen completely into this world. I might have a crush on Estel/Aragorn/Stridor but shh! lets all keep that a secret. I was highly amused when you pointed out that Aragorn has a different name for everywhere he goes. This used to confuse me and continues to do so to my best friend when I try to explain the books to her. Usually I tend to shy away from the 'book' characters because the stories can be forced but I am entirely enjoying this. I am not a writer, for I could not measure up to most of the talent out today, but I am an avid reader and can only hope that my commenting encourages you to continue to write such completely enticing stories.

Anso the Hobbit · 28 July 2005 · Chapter 9: Home and Hearth

I`ve been so occupied with "real" hobbits lately that I didn`t know there was a update on this, but I very much enjoy it. I especially loved the conversation between Bilbo and Aragorn about Aragorn`s background, and of course the bits about Merry. ;)

Auntiemeesh · 26 July 2005 · Chapter 9: Home and Hearth

I love your descriptions of Merry throughout this story; so young still, but already possessing such a strong sense of responsibility. The image of him falling asleep on the floor of the parlor because he wouldn't abandon *his* guests is so sweet. :D

Tigger · 23 July 2005 · Chapter 9: Home and Hearth

“It has been many days since you have fully rested, Captain,” Thalguron said. “Do you wish a meal before sleep?” “A most hobbit-like thing to inquire,” Aragorn grinned. “How will you ever be satisfied with woodland fare after this?” How will any of them be satisfied w/woodland fare after this...LOL. I loved that. Especially Aragorn's reply. Me thinks the hobbits are rubbing off on Thalguron. ;o) Rangers, hobbits, pups and a slumber party. Who could ask for anything more? :oD What a lovely fluffy chapter. Can't wait to read about Bilbo and Aragorn's talk and hopefully, a well Frodo excited to show the clasp to everyone. I do love your Merry. So young, but determined and level headed. A fine future Master of Buckland indeed. Can't wait for the next installment!!!

Lily Baggins · 22 July 2005 · Chapter 9: Home and Hearth

I just love your Bilbo---he's always so sensible (for a cracked Baggins, that is) and always has Frodo's health and best interests at heart at all times. Oooo, did I hear he's setting out towels and BASINS? :D And Aragorn . . . well, cannot go on and on forever, but you know how I feel about your Aragorn here. Especially his explanation to Thalguron of everything hobbity . . . and his query about whether the stories told were appropriate for a child. Surely, surely all the rangers' tales are appropriate for children? ;D Can't wait for the next chapter---I imagine Frodo will probably be waking soon, and I'm very curious to see what that will be like. Blankets will surely be involved, I think . . .

Larner · 22 July 2005 · Chapter 9: Home and Hearth

Again, a pleasure to read. Bilbo's interest is now up, and it won't be too terrifically long before he knows the full tale of Aragorn son of Arathorn.

Mysterious Jedi · 22 July 2005 · Chapter 9: Home and Hearth

Do you think those tales told to Merry will be remembered and repeated all over the Shire? :) <>< Saved from sin through Christ, mj

Amy Earls · 22 July 2005 · Chapter 9: Home and Hearth

Oh, a slumber party with hobbits and rangers! *bounces* I've reread this ch. twice already, Janet, one of my favorites. I am so looking forward to Bilbo's talk with Estel! And I liked how the latter wasn't entirely sure about his age. Trees are smarter than we think! *nods*

harrowcat · 22 July 2005 · Chapter 9: Home and Hearth

*big grin seeing new story alert from Shirebound!* More poem writing? and big hobbit = Ranger chat coming up? I have stopped borrowing Marigold's sticksies, I promise but my fingers are itching!

TheHobbitWaffle · 22 July 2005 · Chapter 9: Home and Hearth

I can understand how you feel, Shrimpy Barrel. I vividly picture things to the point of having too much description in my stories. Cliffhanger much? ;)
