“'That youngster enjoys every experience as if he will not see another sunrise,' Thalguron marveled." Such a perfect summation of toddlers' complete absorption in "now". Wee Pippin is so delightful! This really is a restful, healing story. I can't wait for more.

Auntiemeesh · 15 September 2005 · Chapter 14: Promises

I'm sure that conversation with Bilbo was very difficult for Frodo, but you handled it beautifully, allowing Bilbo to ease Frodo's fears even though he couldn't make the promise Frodo wanted. And of course, wee!Pippin. So cute with his ducks wandering up the side of Halbarad's crutch. :)

Lily · 15 September 2005 · Chapter 14: Promises

I enjoyed the talk a great deal! Poor Frodo, I so wish his parents would still be with him. Pippin and ducks and 'fwogs', eh? That reminds me a lot of little Frodo's tadpoles. Note to self: must write anohter tadpole story :)

Anso the Hobbit · 8 September 2005 · Chapter 13: Home Is Where the Heart Is

Awww. Lovely sleeping cousin-pile. :D This was another great chapter. I`m guessing that more hobbits than Pippin have the men wound around their finger, lol.

Pearl Took · 7 September 2005 · Chapter 13: Home Is Where the Heart Is

Ah - the matter of age. These are such good wee hobbit lads, no wonder they are stealing the hearts of Aragorn's men :) Wonderful, warm and cozy.

Pearl Took · 7 September 2005 · Chapter 12: A New Understanding

wonderful as always!! Pippin correcting Frodo's pronounciation, Scamp having fun with Pip's toy. The awe of Frodo's discovery and the new respect for the trees. Wonderful!!

Pearl Took · 7 September 2005 · Chapter 11: In Your Company

I can well imagine the Rangers being wary of Bilbo, one of those peaceful and often naive hobbits. They have a lot to learn, hehehehe. And now they will have that little bundle of energy of a Took! I loved Saradoc's cameo appearance!

Auntiemeesh · 7 September 2005 · Chapter 13: Home Is Where the Heart Is

Lovely, as always. I'm still smiling over the image of wee!Pippin hiding inside Halbarad's boot. :)

Samantha · 5 September 2005 · Chapter 13: Home Is Where the Heart Is

Just between you and me I have issues with 'fwogs' too. I love that Pippin hid in a shoe, how adorable! I'm glad that a lesson was learned about protecting the shire and its inhabitants. Innocence must always be protected.

grumpy · 5 September 2005 · Chapter 13: Home Is Where the Heart Is

Wonderful chapter. It was so sweet of Frodo to say that Aragorn could always have a home at Bag End. Plus to offer to give him the mithril clasp. Looking foward to more

Larner · 5 September 2005 · Chapter 13: Home Is Where the Heart Is

Am interested to see what gifts have been whittled for Frodo and his cousins. Their first time to see the three of them sleeping together, but not their last, unfortunately. And I love the hiding in the boot! Heh!

EllyBaggins · 5 September 2005 · Chapter 13: Home Is Where the Heart Is

i loved the ending of this chapter. and pippin in halbarad's boots? priceless! thanks for a great update :)

Andrea · 5 September 2005 · Chapter 13: Home Is Where the Heart Is

LOL! Little Pippin hiding in a Ranger's boot! Sometimes I simply forget how tiny hobbit children are. But the part I loved most, was this: “Look,” Thalguron said softly, pointing into the room. By the dim lamplight next to the bed, the two men could see that the bed was crowded with sleeping hobbits. Although Merry and Pippin had their own rooms, they had both ended up in Frodo’s -- in a peaceful, sleeping pile of cousins. Just what I needed today! That's so cute :)

The Hobbit Waffle · 5 September 2005 · Chapter 13: Home Is Where the Heart Is

No one would have guessed! Especially with you writing it. “When I returned from patrol, the game of hide-and-seek had become a frantic search for Pippin. He had chosen a most excellent hiding place -- one of Halbarad’s boots -- and one guess as to who finally found him.” That particular sentence made me giggle like a madwoman, and make everyone else in the room look at me strange. ^_^

Lily · 5 September 2005 · Chapter 13: Home Is Where the Heart Is

This is such a sweet chapter. And I wonder what Frodo and Bilbo will talk about... you will have Frodo tell Bilbo his fears, won't you?

frodo16424 · 5 September 2005 · Chapter 13: Home Is Where the Heart Is

Aww, Pippin hiding in a Man's boot! What a cute picture. Wonder just from whom Merry and Pippin learned to 'accidently' drop food for Scamp? Certainly not Frodo (much) LOL! Enjoying the story.

Amy · 5 September 2005 · Chapter 13: Home Is Where the Heart Is

"I have a lot of reading to do today. Mind if I join you all?" *settles down with hobbits and rangers* "Umm, that smells good. Stew and veggies and pie?" "I'll help clean up. Mind if I read next to the fire?" *snug for the night, surrounded by hobbit piles and rangers on the floor*

Sandy K · 5 September 2005 · Chapter 13: Home Is Where the Heart Is

Pippin hiding inside a boot! LOL! I can just see it! :D I'm glad this story is being so sneaky. I've enjoyed every chapter.

SlightlyTookish · 5 September 2005 · Chapter 13: Home Is Where the Heart Is

Ooh, I loved Frodo and Aragorn's conversation about Elrond and Bilbo, and I'm so happy that Thalguron finally understands the hobbits. That scene at the end of the chapter is just too sweet. But of course... “When I returned from patrol, the game of hide-and-seek had become into a frantic search for Pippin. He had chosen a most excellent hiding place -- one of Halbarad’s boots -- and one guess as to who finally found him.” Eee, that's the most adorable image I've ever come across! I'm imagining just how tiny he is, to fit into a boot! So, so cute...are you positive that Pippin has to return home just yet? Can't he stay a little longer?

Lily Baggins · 29 August 2005 · Chapter 12: A New Understanding

I so enjoy seeing the hobbits through others' eyes... and seeing how charmed the rangers are with the Little Folk (like, who wouldn't be, right?) And Frodo still has a low-grade fever and naps beneath a tree . . . very sweet. Low grade fever, high-grade fever---it's all good! I can see your archaeology background in so many of your stories, and I love it---even though it's Middle-earth, you make it seem like real history!

Anso the Hobbit · 28 August 2005 · Chapter 12: A New Understanding

"Do you need a nap?" LOL (Well, I do actually but I`ll wait a bit). Pippin does know how to charm his way around both big and little Folk. I hope Frodo will not have a relapse!

Samantha · 27 August 2005 · Chapter 12: A New Understanding

This story feels like home. I get so immersed in this world and am a little bit sad when the chapter ends. Will be waiting for more. {(hugs pippin)} just on principle.

Baggins Babe · 27 August 2005 · Chapter 12: A New Understanding

Oh how delightful to have little Pippin! How did he sneak in? Those Tooks get everywhere! Nice to see Frodo recovering, and I'm so glad that Saradoc and Paladin both trust Estel - who wouldn't? Lovely chapter, Shirebound!

Andrea · 27 August 2005 · Chapter 12: A New Understanding

“No ducks this time,” Frodo laughed, hugging his young cousin. “Just fwogs.” “Fwogs,” Pippin corrected, eliciting a chuckle from Halbarad. LOL! I love that Tookish accent :) It's typical of Frodo to honor the tree, under which he prepares to sleep. And Thalguron, after some thinking, does the same. I think, Frodo has made a great impression on him.

Tigger · 26 August 2005 · Chapter 12: A New Understanding

Awwww....Poor Pippin seems to know whenever anyone needs comfort. Even at this tender age. Went straight to Halbawad, ( ;o) ) and then I'm suspecting right into his heart. Sweet wee hobbit lad. Loved both Frodo and then Thalguron gave thanks to the tree. Lovely chapter Shirebound and thanks for the review of my story over at LJ. Been pretty sick since I posted it and just haven't been able to make it over there to add and also answer the two reviews I got. Thanks again!! :o)
