Rose Sared · 7 July 2005 · Chapter 5: My Enemy, My Love

oh dear, nothing good will come of this, but at least she found him somewhat attractive. Can hardly wait for the next ch. Thanks Rose

Author's reply

Sorry to be so long in replying, Rose - I've been on vacation. Oh yes, she finds him attractive, unlikely as that seems - the reason will come out later... Glad you're reading! jo

Calime · 5 July 2005 · Chapter 1: The Throwback

An excellent beginning; I'm hooked already. I'm so excited to see another story of yours come up, though a bit worried about the darkness you mentioned. That's only because I know how great a storyteller you are. I'm sure it will be powerful, and it will be worth it.

Author's reply

Hi, Calime - it's good to hear from you! This one's pretty angsty, but I find that hope creeps into my stories by the window, even when I try to close the door, so I hope that you'll enjoy this one. jo

Rose Sared · 23 June 2005 · Chapter 4: Temptation

Ah, what maggot indeed. The Shire invaded and Logi at war with his nature. What a lovely complex tale, your characters sing with life. Graddad arrives soon, I hope. Rose

Author's reply

Thank you, Rose! You know, I wrote Logi in the beginning just to be a sort of throw-away villain - and he up and went real on me. Weird. Glad he's coming to life for you too. jo

Rose Sared · 23 June 2005 · Chapter 3: Where There's Smoke...

Ah, trouble stirs and Logi left to his own devices without his balancing elf - oh dear. Gran and Pa to the rescue I hope. Rose

Author's reply

Hi, Rose! How funny to think of Malawen and Canohando as Gran and Pa - like the Waltons - jo

Raksha The Demon · 17 June 2005 · Chapter 1: The Throwback

Looking forward to the conclusion of Canohando's marvelous story; though I hope that there won't be too much misery...Has it really been 3000 years since the end of LOTR? Logi is an intriguing character, it was inevitable that at least one of Canohando and Malawen's descendants should be a throwback to the original orcs.

Author's reply

Hi, Raksha! Yup, 3000 years. And this is a very dark story, I'm afraid - yet as in Tolkien's original, "There is always hope!" I hope you'll enjoy it. jo

Meldewen Ilce · 17 June 2005 · Chapter 2: Taming Logi

Wow, Jo, I am so excited to see a new story featuring Canohando and Malawen even if it is going to be dark! I was sad to read of the changes to the Shire and Logi sounds like he is going to be a problem but I cannot wait to see how this story will continue. Please update soon!

Author's reply

I'm so glad you're ready to welcome Canohando and Malawen back, even in a not-at-all-a-feel-good story. I guess all good things have to come to an end, even Canohando's protection of the Shire - for Tolkien said that these days, Hobbits live hidden, secret lives. And Logi is - no question- a problem. Buckle your seatbelt, it's going to be a wild ride. jo

Shemyaza · 17 June 2005 · Chapter 2: Taming Logi

Why haven't you received more reviews? This is an excellent story and I agree with the previous reviewer that you make your characters live. Wonderful story so far, well written and well thought out. I will await more with anticipation.

Author's reply

Thank you, Shemyaza! I'm so glad you enjoyed it - and I hope to get more chapters posted in a few days. They're written, just need a bit of re-write. Thank you for reviewing - I see the "hits" sometimes and chew my nails. (Someone's reading, but do they like it? hate it? what?) No, I'm not paranoid, not at all... jo

Rose Sared · 17 June 2005 · Chapter 2: Taming Logi

Jo, how wonderful, you are back! These characters must live in your head because they certainly live on the page. But that Logi is a worry, so orcish I suppose he will inherit his grandfather's immortality along with his nature. Great stuff. More more soon, please. Rose.

Author's reply

Hi Rose! Oh, it's nice to see an old friend dropping in to read and review - thanks! Yeah, Logi is Orc to the bone, and immortal. Kinda fun, writing a juvenile Orc - I'm glad he comes alive for you. More soon, I hope. jo
