Hobbit Lass21 · 30 April 2005 · Chapter 4: A Deliberate Mess

Augh! Cliff-hanger! If I wasn't absolutely compelled to stop and review (which, of course, I am) I would read on...which I will...in a second. I just had to comment on this chapter. Poor Frodo...he can bounch back from mishaps, however....I like Bilbo's comment that Frodo's easy to amuse. For a tiem, at least. I was like that. I once went an entire palne ride with just a napkin to play with...at least, that was all I wanted to play with. I was an odd child. But at any rate I must read on and find out what the 'monster' is....

Author's reply

Most children will entertain themselves with simple things for quite a while - Frodo is no exception :) I used to play with little ponies too - could do so the entire day without getting bored.

Hobbit Lass21 · 30 April 2005 · Chapter 3: Breakfast for Two

Ah yes, the classic idea of a child trying to bring breakfast in bed to an adult and making such a mess of it.....then of course there's the bit where the adult walks in at exactly the wrong moment and, if they're cold and entirely unforgiving, yells at the poor kid or takes one look at those big blue eyes and pretends not to mind a bit. Love that concept, and tossing Frodo into the mix makes it perfect! ^.^

Author's reply

How could you do anything else but pretend that you don't mind a bit when those eyes are on you?

Hobbit Lass21 · 30 April 2005 · Chapter 2: Ponds and Tubs

'ending with tadpoles and a new pond in Bag End's garden which Bilbo should excavate after lunch at the latest.' LOl! Mmm...I love little Frodo...just plain love him! Yes, it's me again, reading all your stories...should've done this sooner.....Better late than never! *giggles at the ideas of tadpoles and Wormies*

Author's reply

Young Frodo is a delight to write... especially when he is so cute!! :) Poor Bilbo is having a tough time, though :)

Desidera · 13 April 2005 · Chapter 9: Another Guest

Bilbo really is a great uncle! And I'm so glad Gandalf appeared! I suppose little Frod won't leave him alone until he has done some kind of magic...He's so cute when he's curious yet doesn't dare to get too close to Gandalf *gg*

Author's reply

I'm glad you like it. You shall see if Gandalf is allowed some peace or not :)

shirebound · 9 April 2005 · Chapter 9: Another Guest

Oh how I love this story! "The size of the person before him - not yet Gandalf, but at least no dragon's spy - was completely unbelievable. He was at least trice the size of Bilbo if one reckoned the hat he wore as well and for Frodo he looked more like a monster than the friendly and helpful wizard Bilbo had told him about." Great description from a childs-eye view! And now we have another guest! What fun.

Author's reply

Thank you so much. I'm glad you're enjoying this.

Desidera · 19 February 2005 · Chapter 8: The Long Way Home

That was another cute chapter!!! I guess I couldn't deny little Frodo any of his wishes, eyes and all. Just imagining that little hobbit boy...*lol* Anyway, I'm sure he's sorry Balin went away so early! I can remember a few times when my parents didn't wake me up when something important happened. I know I wouldn't have had the heart to wake a little child either, but I can also remember the other side... I liked the character of the innkeeper and the story Bilbo told Frodo! *lol*

Author's reply

I would not be able to deny him anything either. I wonder how Primula manages. :) I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter.

shirebound · 15 February 2005 · Chapter 8: The Long Way Home

I do love this adventure! How I wish I could have accompanied them. And of course I ADORE lines like this... "Frodo squealed but did not protest when Bilbo snuggled him against him but instead curled into the loving hobbit's arms and smiled." *sigh*

Author's reply

I knew you would love this line :)

Andrea · 14 January 2005 · Chapter 7: Dwarven Tales And Dragons' Gold

So, Frodo would not go on without showing his tadpoles? That made me laugh! I really like this story, please update soon!

Author's reply

Of course Frodo had to show his tadpoles. They are all his pride after all :) I'm glad you're enjoying the story.

shirebound · 14 January 2005 · Chapter 7: Dwarven Tales And Dragons' Gold

What an adventure! I especially love this: "Frodo's eyes wandered form one to the other in wonder. All the tales Bilbo had told him so many times suddenly grew to life - more than they did usually and it had all begun with Balin's arrival the other day. A shiver of delight ran down his spine and he hoped his two companions would never stop their talking - even if he would not talk for the time their conversation lasted. For them it was a mere exchange of old memories but for Frodo it was legends coming to life."

Author's reply

Thanks a lot! Frodo must hhave been really excited about their conversation.

periantari · 14 January 2005 · Chapter 3: Breakfast for Two

lol aww sweet Frodo to want to surprise Bilbo... i'm surprised at the amount of work that he already did have done in terms of preparing the table. :D so it's 1374 so is Frodo only 6 years old at that time? Since Frodo is born 1368, i guess that would make him 6... He's doing quite a lot for a six year old--i'm impressed =)

Author's reply

Young Frodo is almost six years old, yes :) Considering the importance of a breakfast table (especially for hobbit children) I thought it would be all right if Frodo did the best he could :)

shirebound · 5 December 2004 · Chapter 6: Of Mice and Young Hobbits

Sweeeetness! "Yawning the child laid his head on Bilbo's lap and allowed himself to be snuggled." Awwww. And... "The boy could hardly wait for their trip to begin - his very own adventure, travelling with Bilbo and a dwarf across the Shire." I can't wait, either!

Author's reply

How do you do that? I post a new chapter, and no matter when, you will need less than two hours to read and review :) I'm glad you're enjoying this and I can assure you in the next chapter the journey will finally begin.

AngieT · 27 October 2004 · Chapter 4: A Deliberate Mess

This is just great. We don't get nearly enough of Frodo being a perfectly normal, messy, into everything child. I love this. Mind you, if I were Bilbo I would be pulling my hair out by now - but I guess young Frodo is so adorable he makes up for it.

Author's reply

I guess young Frodo is so adorable he makes up for it. I think so too, otherwise poor Bilbo would really be losing his nerves by now. :)

EllaG · 26 October 2004 · Chapter 5: Old Friend Monster

Lovely story! I am greatly enjoying reading it!

Author's reply

Thank you! I'm glad you do! :)

shirebound · 17 September 2004 · Chapter 4: A Deliberate Mess

Oh my goodness, I think Frodo's about to have a real adventure walk right through the door of Bag End! What a delight of a story.

Author's reply

I guess Frodo's attitude to andventures is quite different to what he had expected. Thankfully it is not a dragon waiting at the door.

shirebound · 2 September 2004 · Chapter 3: Breakfast for Two

This is so sweet! Frodo is so earnest and serious about everything he has to accomplish (and how quiet he needs to be), and Bilbo so understanding and compassionate. I just love them together.

Author's reply

I'm so happy you like this story.

Breon Briarwood · 2 September 2004 · Chapter 3: Breakfast for Two

Aw, how precious! Makes me want to snuggle and huggle him! I love your young Frodo; he's such a thoughtful lad.

Author's reply

I have the same problem. At times I wish I could take him out of the tale and snuggle him :) I'm glad you liked it.

Dreamflower · 2 September 2004 · Chapter 3: Breakfast for Two

Oh my, what an adorable story. So detailed, and so full of just what the thought processes are for a small child. You have a lot of insight into the way a little one's mind works! And the descriptions are wonderful!

Author's reply

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for mentioning the descrptions. I love long descriptions and always fear I bore others with them. Thanks for commenting.

shirebound · 7 August 2004 · Chapter 2: Ponds and Tubs

This is delightful! I'm enjoying this story so much. "...if he was drowsy or just gathering his strength for another five hours of talking, Bilbo could not tell." That's wonderful. I know that *Bilbo* will sleep well after this energetic lad's day!

Author's reply

Bilbo will definitely need a good night's rest :)

Lily · 30 July 2004 · Chapter 1: Things Arranged

This is definitely different from your other stories. VERY different. still, I think I’m going to love this story ::hugs Frodo and Lily:: Hope you update soon.

Author's reply

I'm sure you will :) And you are right, this story IS very different. Sometimes I hardly recognise my style.

shirebound · 17 July 2004 · Chapter 1: Things Arranged

This looks to be a lovely story! There are so few happy-Baggins-family tales out there. "A smile crossed her lips when Drogo looked at her with a guilty expression that reminded her very much of her son. Frodo would give her that same look whenever he had been up to something and she had caught him just a second before any harm was done. He would look at her with those dangerous eyes of his, so she would need all her willpower not to give in and just pull him into a warm hug. Drogo's expression had the same effect on her, though his eyes were not half as perilous as Frodo's." That's wonderful. I can't wait to read more!

Author's reply

Thank you so much! Chapter two is almost finished but I fear there will be almost nothing aobut the 'happy-Baggins-family'.
