· Chapter 16: The Story of Poor, Unfortunate Toffin
Killer chickens? Where do you come up with this stuff? That was hilarious! I was rolling! Poor, trusting Pippin, so proud of having Merry to look after him. Merry was such a rascal to do that to him. This was great.
Author's reply
Doesn't everyone have a killer chicken story? No? Well, maybe this is the beginning of a trend of some sort. I don't really have any idea where this sort of nonsense comes from. It just shows up and I go with it. Thank you for reviewing!

I think this is one of my favorite Merry and Pippin stories that you have! I love when you go back and have them telling a story and the present mixed in! Killer chikcens! That was great! I like that Merry wasn't going to tell the rest of the story but I am glad Pippin finished it! lol, Thanks for the fun!
Author's reply
Thank you. So happy that you liked this one. I wondered when I first decided to post this if I had gone a bit too far with my killer chickens. I am a big fan of flash-backs myself and so I do tend to do this sort of story form often. I am glad to see that someone else enjoys it. Thanks for the review!

I am a very sad person and feel the need to point out a couple of typos - on a separate review so you can delete it.
I am only lowly a knight
breaches
I might of heard
he tried to frightened the life
as if a damn had burst
it might not be a bad idea of chickens ate Pippin
It made me laugh again looking through it. Lovely story
Author's reply
I have only ever deleted one review since I started doing this and it was from a rather distrubed individual who shall remain nameless that was more interested in the names of my characters than the story. So this review stays put and I thank you for the corrections. I used them all even though the one regarding, "I might of heard" was more of a younger Pippin speech pattern thing that I was going for, but on re-thinking it, I decided that it didn't work. Thank you for taking the time and letting me know what you found in need of correcting. It helps the story a great deal.

This story is brilliant. It is so funny it made me laugh out loud - it is set up brilliantly and has all the inevitability of a really good joke. Loved it.
I think that it is my favourite so far.

Why thank you! This is one of my favorite reviews also. Thanks for reading.

LOL...so cute! Pippin chasing after Gandalf for a tonic to make him grow...which reminds me of something...
I just love these little moments you concoct between Pippin and Merry; I love your world of little hobbits. Thanks for sharing!

Oh, how true this is for any child!! That wanting to get measured all too often. And worse, as you have it, when a child is short for their age. Another winner!!!!!

Not just a four-foot tall eleven-year old, but a 4-ft tall eleven-year-old Pippin. Now that's a frightening notion. I can just imagine everyone running for their lives, LOL! Cute chapter.
Author's reply
Yes, as Merry said, "very un-natural" and in Pippin's case uncontrolable! LOL Now that would be an interesting AU story, wouldn't it? Thank you for the review! Since you write about Merry and Pippin mostly also, I am flattered in a big way that you enjoyed this.

*laughs* That was great! I liked how you used the even from so when they were little and then Merry and Pippin talkig about it in Minas Tirith! Very fun! And I can just imagine an elevem year old Pippin pestering Gandalf to make him taller! Thank you!
Author's reply
Yes, poor Gandalf must have been driven nearly crazy by little Pippin. I do believe that Pippin would have asked for magic if he thought Gandalf would be able to help him. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! It is much appreciated.

Author Reply: Hi, I think you left me a review for a chapter that I posted and then had to delete due to a problem. When I deleted it, it took the reviews with it. I did want to let you know that I appreciate your review for that chapter and to thank you for reading and this was the only way that I could find to let you know! The other chapter is temporarily gone, but I hope to repost it later. Hope your 33rd birthday is a special one!_ review was on chapter 27 which is gone at the moment_

"So, what sort of presents did you get us this year?" Pippin dares to asks Frodo. I love the lad’s nerve. I could never stay angry at him. I suspect that this little hobbit actually is my best friend, but I don’t plan to tell him that. I doubt that I have to because he probably knows.
Wonderful!! Marvelous!!
Sorry it took me so long to get around to reading these. They are such wonderfully fun and heartwarming stories. Thank you so very, very much.

Love this story. Cheeky little Pippin, neither of them can stay mad at him for long. Great dialogue between the cousins, especially the verbal sparring between Merry and Pippin. Thank you for this fun read! :-)

· Chapter 14: Skirmish
That was great! Merry and Pippin fighting was rather comical, all the more so because I can actually relate! My closest sister and I use to fight like that, although I am proud to say we haven't in a while ;) Frodo's reaction to the predicament was funny! I couldn't help but laugh, poor guy he gets locked in a pantry with his cousins for his birthday! Thank you for the fun!
Author's reply
Yes, I think poor Frodo got caught in the middle again. I was thinking a bit of the Ent Draught scene from the extended Two Towers while writing this one. The part where Merry has taken the Ent draught and Pippin is trying to get it back from him? Thank you for reading and reviewing.

· Chapter 14: Skirmish
LOL, this was hilarious all the way through. From Pippin's hair pulling, to Merry sitting on Pippin, to the both of them trying to sway Frodo to their side, to all of them getting trapped. This was great, but now we need a Pippin's POV story. Maybe something where he's explaining how one of his pranks backfired or something. Keep these coming.
Author's reply
I wrote a Pippin POV for this same challenge site not too long ago, but it was Pippin and Bilbo and didn't have the Merry/Pippin theme to it so I never moved it over here. You have given me a small plot bunny here, though with the prank that backfired suggestion. Keep watching and it may turn up in the future.

· Chapter 14: Skirmish
This was a lovely epison - the flour fight in the pantry. Pippin squealing and pulling hair and biting 'like a lass'. I had never thought of the potential for hair-pulling afforded by a hobbit's hairy feet before.
And then all three of them shut in the pantry, with flour everywhere, waiting in hope for the eventual arrival of rescue in the shape of Sam. So funny.
Author's reply
I imagine that having the hair on their feet pulled would be very painful indeed, but Pippin was out-sized and desperate at that point. Also, some of the arguements he must have had at home with his sisters must have taught him something useful. LOL And Sam always seems to be my rescuer for the cousins. I'm going to have to write one where they save him in some way. Thank you for reviewing.

ROFLMBO!! That fight scene was too much! "I reach up with my right hand and began to pull on his ear while hissing, "You fight like a lass." - GW LOL!! You write these cousins so perfectly; each personality complimenting the other. The ending was yet another tender moment between two best friends. Loved it! :-)

Author's reply
Thank you! I figured that having three older sister at home, Pip might know some of their fighting tactics. I also thought it would be interesting if he managed to beat Merry in a fight using those tricks since Merry doesn't have any sisters. We lasses are tougher than some might think! LOL

These little stories are just adorable.
You've done a great job of capturing the love and the sweentess of the bond between Merry and Pippin, without making them too saccharine or simple.
Please keep writing more of them. I just read the 'bug' one too -- utterly wonderful.
Thanks for these.
Author's reply
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed them. I am very pleased that they aren't seeming too saccharine because I don't think they were always sweet with one another. After all, even friends argue, especially family. Thank you for reading and I am sure there will be more of this in the future.

And, of course, Pippin does turn green later on! Loved the conversation about bugs. It's very much something little boys would talk about.
Author's reply
Bugs are just too interesting not to talk about. LOL I had watched a special on Animla Planet and so I really should have credited them on this bug idea. And yes, Pippin would have been able to hide in the grass a bit later on after Merry dyed him green. LOL

· Chapter 12: Thinking Too Much
Like Merry could get rid of Pippin even if he wanted to, LOL. What a sweet and touching moment between the cousins. They're friends for many more reasons than just their age, though I can see Pippin being a bit concerned about such a milestone.
Author's reply
I seem to think of Pippin as one of those folks who will come up with questions and concerns late at night just when you're ready for some rest. LOL Thanks so much for reading!
