shirebound · 5 June 2005 · Chapter 34: It's No Mystery, Really

There was a slight pause and then Pippin said, “The older hobbit isn’t going to quite yammering on is he?” “No,” Merry said. “And the younger hobbit isn’t going to quit being so bone-head and listen to reason anytime soon, is he?” “No,” Pippin said, softly. Gotta love these cousins! What a wonderful relationship.

Author's reply

They may be a bit insulting at times, but they look out for one another no matter what. Thanks for your kind words and the review.

SlightlyTookish · 5 June 2005 · Chapter 34: It's No Mystery, Really

Delightful! I love your Merry and Pippin ficlets, GW. The bantering here is wonderful and humorous, and I love how they so obviously love each other behind the insults. :)

Author's reply

I think that's a guy thing. Guys are never completely nice to one another verbally even if they are the best of friends. I'm so pleased that you liked it and thank you for reading!

good_one_pip · 4 June 2005 · Chapter 30: A Sticky Situation

Where do you think these things up? I can't wait to see what you have in store for Pip to "Get Even" hehehe...

Author's reply

I have no idea where the ideas for these come from. It might frighten me if I did. LOL So glad that you enjoyed it and thank you for the review.

good_one_pip · 31 May 2005 · Chapter 29: Inside Out

Funny! I thought that you were going to do something with that mysterious key, though. It would make a good idea for a future story:)

Author's reply

Well, I thank you for that plot bunny. I just might have to do something with the key. Thank you for reveiwing!

GamgeeFest · 28 May 2005 · Chapter 33: Errol

Now really, Merry, there is nothing wrong with sleeping with a stuffed bunny rabbit, or a security blanket for that matter either, lol. At least Merry's hijinx meant that Errol was there to comfort Frodo during the storm. Adorable story, as always.

Author's reply

I think that about finishes the Errol stories. That rabbit now appears in three stories and that is quite enough for one bunny. Thanks for the review.

GamgeeFest · 27 May 2005 · Chapter 32: The Perfect Gift

Awwww! Little baby Pip Squeak! So cute! Loved the scene at the end. Pippin is indeed getting his way - Merry's warming up to him at last.

Author's reply

If they are very careful they just might become friends later on. LOL Glad you liked it and thanks for reading!

zhaz87 · 24 May 2005 · Chapter 33: Errol

Awww how cute was that. I used to have a clown when i was younger until my mum put it in the washing machine and it blew up! HEHEHEH Merry and his pink blanket! Classic! Nicely done, can't wait for more *winkwink*

Author's reply

Wow! It blew up? How did your mum explain that one? Glad you liked the story. More will show up before long I am sure. Thanks for the review!

Larner · 24 May 2005 · Chapter 33: Errol

I am giggling. Yes, Frodo's secret is safe with Pippin. Dear lad!

Author's reply

So, made you giggle. That's a good thing. I also believe that Frodo can trust Pip with this secret. I just hope Errol doesn't decide to tell anyone. LOL

Bodkin · 23 May 2005 · Chapter 33: Errol

in case I was a lass or something revolting like that Is there anything else that could possibly be as revolting as that? What else might his mother give birth to? A warg? Really, lads are hilariously disgusted by any non-mother female. Until their hormones make them the lasses' slaves, of course. And Merry's protection just at the moment is a bit heavy-handed - the kind of protection that can be worse than the threat. Although I suppose it is done in love. I'm glad Pippin won't tell about Frodo cuddling Errol, though.

Author's reply

I think Merry got completely out of hand with his protective urge because he was thinking about the teasing that he received. A case of, with friends like these, who needs enemies. LOL Oh, I think you may have a splendid idea for a 'horror in the Shire' fiction. Esmeralda Brandybuck gives birth to a warg child, hides it from everyone, until it grows large enough and begans attacking the neighbors. LOL

Armariel · 22 May 2005 · Chapter 28: Important Choices

LOLOL! Another delightful glimpse into hobbitdom. Thanks for the trip! cheers Armariel, mainly the author of depressing angsty poems~~~{~@

Author's reply

Glad you had fun reading this one. I admire anyone who can write a poem. Mine never turn out the way that I want them to. I always sound a bit like Dr. Suess on a very bad day. LOL

Stormscrystal · 21 May 2005 · Chapter 32: The Perfect Gift

It is so great to know how Pippin got Erol and how he was named. Pippin is so adorable and Merry thinking he knows exactly what he is doing is so hilarious. Question did you mean to say "small" green eyes? I love this series and can't wait for the next one.

Author's reply

thank you for the review and for reaing this one. Errol seems to have become quite popular lately. I did write "small" and I think it was because I had used the word, small in an earlier sentence to discribe Pip's face. I may need to change that. Thanks!

PIppinfan1988 · 20 May 2005 · Chapter 32: The Perfect Gift

Awwww!! So CUTE!! Well done, Grey Wonderer! Such a sweet baby Pippin--makes me want to pinch his cheeks! Thanks for another fantastic tale. :-) Pippinfan

Author's reply

Thank you! Glad you liked it. This one was by request and so now Errol the rabbit has three stories! He is becoming my most popular OC.

Larner · 20 May 2005 · Chapter 32: The Perfect Gift

Very smart baby and very thoughtful Frodo as well. The Old Took is in both of them, I suspect. Lovely fluff!

Author's reply

I do wonder what 'the old Took' was like at their ages. Now, that might be entertaining to know. Glad you enjoyed my fluff and thanks for the review!

Zahz87 · 20 May 2005 · Chapter 32: The Perfect Gift

heheheh lovely chapter. Now i have this urge to adopt baby Pippin, put him in a high chair and feed him porrige and pat his head!! God he's so adorable. Makes me want children of my own and im still a tad young for that lol. Cant wait for more chapters. I adore this series of ficlets.

Author's reply

Babies are such sweet things, aren't they? Thank you for reading this and for all of your lovely reviews. It's very encouraging.

Bodkin · 20 May 2005 · Chapter 32: The Perfect Gift

Another lovely story. Even too-young-to-speak Pippin is superb at manipulating his cousins! And Frodo should be a diplomat. So funny the way that even the mention of a thought of getting a pipe for Merry should gain him respect from his fellow lads. So . . . typical of the age. And it explains beautifully the rather un-Shire-like name of Errol. It would seem that Merry is still a bit on his dignity yet, when it comes to being managed by his baby cousin. Still, he'll outgrow that.

Author's reply

You know those interesting noises that almost sound like words that little ones make. I thought that Merry might have a tendancy at his age to translate them into words in the same way that parents do when they claim that there five-month-old just said "ball" or something. So, I suppose in a way, Merry actually named the rabbit.

eiluj · 20 May 2005 · Chapter 32: The Perfect Gift

Wonderful! And I had so much fun figuring out what Pippin was saying.

Author's reply

Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed it.

Mysterious Jedi · 17 May 2005 · Chapter 29: Inside Out

LOL, excellent story, Marigold chose well. <>< Saved from sin through Christ, MJ

Author's reply

Thank you! It was very sweet of her to recommend this one and I appreciate the fact that you left a review. I thank you both!

Andrea · 16 May 2005 · Chapter 31: It Helps To Have A List

Oh my, I just love "Pippish"! But I can understand Merry, not at that time of the day, or should I say night? I can imagine, that Frodo, now knowing the most burning question in Pippin's mind, may tell him of his own what it feels to be invisible, wrapped up in a light conversation, of course :)

Author's reply

Glad you enjoyed it. I suspect that if Frodo feels up to the challenge that he just might give Pippin a bit of information about being invisible. LOL Thanks for reviewing!

harrowcat · 16 May 2005 · Chapter 31: It Helps To Have A List

I know exactly how Pippin feels! And the idea that the list might get so long that he can't talk to Frodo at all is wonderful. I just adore the ending, though I did guess it. I would love to hear the list too! And maybe a follow-up where Frodo answers some of the questions.

Author's reply

Can you just imagine what might be on that list? After all, Pippin was known to be very curious and so I am sure that he had quite a few interesting questions. LOL Glad you enjoyed the ending and the fact that you guessed it must mean that it fits well with the rest of the story which is very good to hear. Thank you for the review and stop by anytime!

Bodkin · 16 May 2005 · Chapter 31: It Helps To Have A List

The idea of Frodo, tucked up in his blankets enjoying the conversation is a delight. He will so enjoy knowing that Pippin is suppressing his curiosity - you never know, he might just drop little snippets into what he says, just to tease the poor lad further. Only Pippin, you could say. Like Merry, I love the image of his earnest face as he draws up a list of what not to say.

Author's reply

Yes, if Frodo really wants to he can amuse himself even further by trying to get Pippin to ask him about being invisible by dropping things into the conversation. At least it brightened his mood for one night and helped him to sleep. Pippin does have a talent for that sort of thing. Glad you enjoyed this one and thanks for the review!

Hai Took · 15 May 2005 · Chapter 31: It Helps To Have A List

I like that Frodo heard the whole conversation! Very considerate of Pippin to try not to say anything unfortunate. I'm sure it is very difficult for him to keep his curiousity to himself! Very nice little interaction between Merry and Pippin here, I loved it!

Author's reply

Thank you. I suspect Pippin did have a very hard time not asking too many questions since he is such a curious hobbit. I also think Frodo would have found it sweet that Pippin was trying so hard. Glad that you agree with me.

Eruviluieth · 15 May 2005 · Chapter 31: It Helps To Have A List

Excellent!!! Love the questions, love the conversation, especially love that Frodo heard and was amused. Only Pip trying not to hurt Frodo could end up making Frodo happy!

Author's reply

thank you so much for the review and I am glad that you liked this one. I did think that Frodo might be amused by Pippin's efforts.

PIppinfan1988 · 15 May 2005 · Chapter 31: It Helps To Have A List

ya got me sniffling again... Lovely piece of art, Grey Wonderer. I did get a nice chuckle out of Merry asking Pippin if he would be able to talk to Frodo at all when they return to the Shire. Awww...and Frodo getting a smile out of Pippin's list...beautiful. See you next time... PF

Author's reply

I'll be right here. Speaking of which, when am I going to see a new story by you? I enjoyed your challenge story a great deal, but it has been a while since you started something over here.....HINT! HINT! LOL Or maybe begging works better? Oh, please, please, please, oh please? There. I've tried but hinting and begging. Let me know if either of them were effective. Thanks for the review!

PIppinfan1988 · 15 May 2005 · Chapter 30: A Sticky Situation

ROTFL....! Oh, poor Pippin is too cute--and what trooper! Bless his hobbity heart. That darned Merry again (snickering)...what shall we do with him??? I love these little stories; they're always funny, sad, cute, or else I'm wringing my hands over trusting little Pip. This tale in particular was fantastic in that is portrayed the entire family interacting, and those are especially my favorite. Thanks for sharing! Pippinfan

Author's reply

Thanks you! This one started out with only a few characters and wound up growing as I wrote. In fact, the bees were a last minute entry. It suddenly occured to me that bees would simply have to show up with all of that molassas and all of those flowers. I was just going for something embarrassing and messy and wound up with painful as well. I just never know where these things are going. I am sure that Merry will get his at some point in the future because Pippin did seem determined. Thanks for the review!

Larner · 15 May 2005 · Chapter 30: A Sticky Situation

OMG, this is priceless. Pippin in his underwear and molasses, in the garden. Esmeralda must be truly frustrated. Lovely short story, and I have done more laughing in the last bit than I'd expected. Gorgeously funny!

Author's reply

Oh, good, laughter! Exactly what I was going for on this one. Glad you enjoyed it. I am very sure that Esmeralda wasn't laughing but I did hope that everyone else might. Thanks!
