Yes, at least alive, and while there's life there's hope, of course.
Now, to see how badly damaged Frodo was.
Nice to see the update!
Author's reply
Bad me!!
:)
Thank you so much, Larner, and yes. He's alive but badly hurt. :(

Oh, I hope the plan worked!
*worries over poor tortured Frodo*

Hooray! Sauron is taken by surprise, and loses his hostage! Excellent, Samwise Gamgee!

Hurry, Gandalf!

I hate Sauron, the vicious creep. Now, how will Frodo and Gandalf deal with this new agony?

Hurry with that other Frodo, Gandalf. Neither will last that much longer.

What an awful choice to be forced to make. Oh, Gandalf--I pray he takes no true harm from it. But something must be done and soon.

· Chapter 18: A Deep Breath Before the Plunge
Help is indeed needed by Frodo. Now, what plans does Gandalf consider? At least at the moment Sauron is letting his captive be.

· Chapter 17: A Feast for Frodo
Sauron just gets worse and worse. And poor Frodo gets little respite. I'm certain he'd much prefer to be dead at this point.

· Chapter 16: Alive
Apparently here we go again. Sauron has no intention of giving up, does he?

I suspect they'd best consider other options. This one works to much to the Dark Lord's advantage.

· Chapter 14: The Mystery Revealed - and a Predicament
Sauron's own evil will again works to his own ill. And I can certainly understand Frodo's own desire.

Time to get him to Rivendell and see what long-term effects this form of treatment could leave.

· Chapter 12: Fading
He loses his captive, his wraiths having stabbed the corporeal Frodo? Interesting concept! Now, Gandalf--save him!

So we mirror the book once more. Now, to rescue the Hobbit.

An increasingly vicious soul, Sauron. Nasty sot! Rats indeed!

· Chapter 9: Taken
They've taken him? What do they hope to do with him while Sam holds the Ring?
Okay, so Gandalf now is almost to Rivendell, bookwise; and Frodo's mind is lost. What are they going to do now?

· Chapter 8: Down and Out
Fighting the evil will of the Ring is difficult, but possible, just as spirit Frodo can use his very thoughts against his captor.

· Chapter 7: An Unlikely Way Out
No--not Sam now! But if Frodo doesn't have the Ring, can Sauron still torture him for it?
Larner

· Chapter 6: Critical Decision
When torture is GOING to happen no matter what, Frodo's done the best thing he can. How can they keep him unconscious until they get to Rivendell at this point so he can't show Sauron what's happening? Or does the stone work whether he's conscious or not?
Larner

· Chapter 5: Tight-lipped
Pretty frightening indeed. How can he tell without Sauron finding out he's telling? This is the question.
Larner

· Chapter 4: Terror
A desperately nasty one, Sauron. Pure spirit, this Frodo? Then how is it he feels hunger and his stomach growls and he breathes out in a huff of air? It seems if he could somehow manage to destroy the palantir or to hide it from Sauron he could halt a good deal of what's going on.
That last image is pretty gross, I'll admit.

· Chapter 3: Comforted... no!
Oh, NASTY Sauron--nasty Sauron. The cell becomes a torture chamber, and the palantir of Minas Morgul is at Sauron's command, not allowing free Frodo to tell what's going on.

· Chapter 2: Frodo, The Fog, and Strider
Sauron is starting quickly with the torture, I see. It has managed to scare the rest, I see.

· Chapter 0: The Fog
An interesting premise and beginning. Frodo divided and used against himself?
