GOOD CHAPTER!!! I'm glad that Mordraug is forever in a dark never ending tunnel. I wouldn't want to be in his position. I thought everything would be ok. Legolas has to go back! Right? ah... update soon. -sofia

Author's reply

Thank you. I'm glad you are pleased with Mordraug's punishment. I would not like to be in his boots, that's for sure. You should know by now. Things aren't always going to be okay. :o) You can cheer him on about returning with Elrond. I think we'd all like to see Legolas go back. But, will he?

Eruanna · 6 June 2004 · Chapter 55

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!! *is speechless* The way you eventually dealt with Mordraug was *very* imaginative...I was completely fascinated the entire time... *applauds* I like the panic, affection, terror, and retribution in this chapter. *glares* I *thought* you were wrapping things up, and then you do *that*...WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?? My POOR x 999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 to the power of 9,999,999,999,999,999,999!!!!!!!! *sniff* Why won't he come back?!? UPDATE SOON!!

Author's reply

Thank you so much. The one thing I didn't want to do was just banish Mordraug into oblivion. I wanted him to suffer some kind of punishment for as long as his spirit existed. I'm glad you like the various emotions in this chapter. They were fun to write. Winding things up? Oh no, not yet. The road stretches onward, for a while, at least. Legolas doesn't think he can face paralysis. There. I bet you weren't expecting me to answer that question, were you? :o) More soon.

daw the minstrel · 6 June 2004 · Chapter 55

I was very interested in how you showed the power of Vilya. It's difficult to imagine how such magic would look, but you do a nice job. The swirling lights were beautiful as well as powerful. So is it the fear of paralysis that makes Legolas unable to go back?

Author's reply

To be honest, when I started to contemplate Elrond using Vilya to confront Mordraug, I was also interested to know how I was going to show it. I'm glad you like what I finally came up with. You saw it just as I imagined it. I hope you also liked Mordraug's punishment. I thought it most fitting, but then I'm slightly prejudiced. I don't think I'd be giving away any plot twist by saying that Legolas does fear to return to what he perceives as a useless life.

Karri · 31 May 2004 · Chapter 54

Oi! What a cliffie! Well, as when I first read this chapter, I enjoyed its tension and angst very much. :-)

Author's reply

I love cliffies (except when I'm reading them, of course). You've read this chapter before? Wow. I'm glad you like the tension and angst. More to come.

*~SuGaR~* · 31 May 2004 · Chapter 54

O.O GO ELROND AND LEGOLAS!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!!!! Mordraug's plan is pretty good...but it'll never work!!!!!!! Now we know how Mordraug is doing all this too...hmmm, maybe someone can find Mordraug's body and administer an antidote...but it probably started to decay already...ewwww...well, we'll just have to wait and see what happens, GO ELROND AND LEGOLAS!!!!!!!!! POST SOON! *~SuGaR~*

Author's reply

Yes, rooting for Legolas and Elrond is a good thing. Let's hope they hear you. I don't think I'd want to find Mordraug after all this time. Yuck. Yes, everyone must wait a while longer, but I will update soon.

sofia · 31 May 2004 · Chapter 54

When Elrond was in the little closed off room, I expected him to see Legolas, not Mordraug. That was a surprise. Then things got really intresting. Update soon. -sofia

Author's reply

Surprises are nice. I'm glad I wasn't predictable. I'm also glad you found it interesting. I will update soon.

rhiannon · 31 May 2004 · Chapter 54

Go Elrond! Mordraug is in deep *&%$ now. Hope he gets a very painful end!!! Looking forward to the next update.

Author's reply

Unfortunately, Mordraug isn't powerless, which will make for a most interesting battle. The next chapter will be coming soon.

daw the minstrel · 31 May 2004 · Chapter 54

Wow. Go Elrond! I am so hoping that between Legolas and Elrond they can defeat Mordraug.

Author's reply

Go Elrond indeed. He's a wiley elf, and he has Vylya. What happens next should prove interesting for all concerned. Author Reply: Go Elrond indeed. He's a wiley elf, and he has Vilya. What happens next should prove interesting for all concerned.

Alina · 31 May 2004 · Chapter 54

Oh wow, now things are really staring to move! A showdown in Legolas´ mind - that is quite an interesting idea. I like the fact that Legolas and Elrond try to work together even though that does not always work the way they may want it to. I see serious trouble ahead, though - hopefully Elrond will have the strength to pull through. Great work, I´m looking forward to your next chapter. Alina

Author's reply

I thought it was interesting, too, when I thought it up. I couldn't resist exploring that idea. I think Elrond and Legolas make a good team. We'll see what comes of it. Thank you. More soon.

OakWolf · 31 May 2004 · Chapter 54

Huzzah(sorta)!Elrond is takin on Mordraug but unfortunatly not very well, W.Wolf show mercy on Legolas, the elf has had to put up with a lot of @#&* lately (in other tales being posted right now he's died twice and been struck blind) Can we please have one miniscule nice thing happen?Sorry, that was lame but hey,Mordraug has a lot of dark karma building....

Author's reply

Elrond is indeed taking on Mordraug. That will be quite a battle. I hope you will like it. Yes, Legolas has endured a lot, but then, this *is* an angst story. And, it isn't over yet! Things won't be all bad, though.

Jay of Lasgalen · 31 May 2004 · Chapter 54

Perhaps one way to make Mordraug leave Legolas alone would be to convince him Legolas is paralysed? Mirkwood probably wouldn't accept a crippled king. Of course, it would mean Legolas has to believe it as well - more angst! Jay

Author's reply

That's a most interesting idea. The elves of Mirkwood love their youngest prince, but whether they would think him capable of ruling them, if he was paralyzed, is subject to speculation. There will be more angst, you can be sure. :o)

Alina · 28 May 2004 · Chapter 53

Oh - what a cliffie!! I´m excited about what Elrond is about to do, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that he will succeed. But what if not?? I guess he is at least keeping that option in mind - and if the dark elf could somehow use this connection to "switch bodies" that would possibly be good for Legolas, but certainly not for the others. I cannot wait for more. Alina

Author's reply

Yes, keep those fingers crossed! Switch bodies. Hmmm. I must admit I never thought of that. Very intriguing idea. It would certainly put Mordraug in a 'paralyzing' bind, wouldn't it? I think you will enjoy the coming battle, at least I hope so. :o)

*~SuGaR~* · 26 May 2004 · Chapter 53

...OMG!!! What a mean way to end the chapter!!!!!! Elrond's now in Legolas's terrifying room of voidiness!!!! (yes, I know that is not a word...) Must have been very strange to be floating around with pretty shades of blue all around you to just suddenly end up in an empty room...Can't wait to see what Elrond does!!!! But what will this do to poor Legolas?!?!?!? Argh! POST SOON!!! *~SuGaR~*

Author's reply

Mean? No, you should know from my previous chapters what mean rally is. :o) On one level, Elrond probably knew he would end up in a strange place sin-ply because of Mordraug. Still, I'm sure the room surprised him a bit. You also know I can't answer your last question right now. Hang on. I will post next week.

Karri · 25 May 2004 · Chapter 53

Oi! That would be a terrifying moment -- the first instant of waking up and realizing one was paralyzed. I hope you will let him recover.

Author's reply

Yes, that would be terrifying for anyone. As for recovering, well.... All I can say is: more to come. :o)

rhiannon · 25 May 2004 · Chapter 53

What a great description of the power of vilya and the way it works. Hope Elrond will finally get rid of Mordraug. You wouldn't really paralyze Legolas, would you????

Author's reply

Thank you.. Elrond is worth betting on, that's for sure. Paralyze Legolas? You must wait for the answer to that one. :o)

daw the minstrel · 25 May 2004 · Chapter 53

I really hesitate to ask what Legolas thinks is going on now. What a long series of nastiness you've put him through! The Quest will seem like child's play.

Author's reply

Legolas will soon be enlightened, as will the readers. I think all this is a tune-up for the Quest. Maybe that's how he got through it relatively unscathed.

sofia · 25 May 2004 · Chapter 53

Oh! So Elrond is in Legolas scary trapted room.

Author's reply

Yes. Now it remains to be seen what Elrond can get accomplished there.

Lossenchristal · 20 May 2004 · Chapter 52

Ooookaaayy... so he is not dead, but possibly paralyzed??? I am not sure which is worse!!!!!;) This is still interesting, so I will stick with you. Please update again soon!:) Namarië, ~Lossenchristal

Author's reply

No,one death only. Paralyzed? You'll have to wait and see. "o) i'm glad you are still interested and will be sticking with me. Thank you. I will try to update next week.

Rhiannon · 20 May 2004 · Chapter 52

Have been enjoying your story very much. Sorry haven't reviewed before *hangs head in shame*. Promise to review more. You must have read the Silmarillion at some point?

Author's reply

I'm glad you are enjoying my "little" tale. Better late than never. I'm always happy to hear from my readers. It's been ages since I read "The Silmarillion". I should probably reread it.

Alina · 20 May 2004 · Chapter 52

Oh my, that was a close call (yet again)! I wonder what the dark elf will do if it turns out that Legolas is, indeed, paralized. I would expect him to get really angry, because what good would a "host" do him that cannot move? Thinking about this, the perfect solution would be for Legolas to be temorarily paralized (maybe by some swelling that would go down after a while). In that case Elrond would have to tell Legolas there was no chance to heal him (what a mean thought!!) and hope the dark elf would leave him be then... I guess I´ll have to wait to find out! Thanks again for sharing this story. Alina

Author's reply

Your scenario is very interesting. What I have planned I think will surprise you. It's not what most people are thinking may happen. Yes, I'm afraid you will have to wait a bit longer. :o) You are most welcome.

Sivan · 19 May 2004 · Chapter 52

More please... That was evil one... and so good. I still love what I read, thank you. Keep up the PERFECT work that you are doing with your fic. You wrote it so good. Sivan (RL was so tight lately)

Author's reply

Well, you know I do get evil from time to time. Thank you. Thank you. Yes, RL can be a bugger. My mother is in the hospital, and I haven't had time to do much reading or writing. However, I do hope to update again next week.

*~SuGaR~* · 16 May 2004 · Chapter 51

ACK!!! I knew he was going to try something like this!!!! Self-sacrifice...again!!!!!! Legolas will do anything to protect the ones he loves...*sniff, sniff* But he can't be dead!!!! I know he can't be dead!!!!! Ergh, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!!!!!! Stupid Mordraug, Legolas not dying would make him happy though, especially since Legolas would be hurt...argh, what a lose-lose situation...Oh well, i know you'lll think of something, hopefully it won't end up meaning further torture =) POST SOON! *~SuGaR~*

Author's reply

That dear elf is truly compassionate. He'll do anything to save his family and friends. Now would I kill Legolas - again? I know what's coming, and I think it will surprise you. Update coming Wednesday, I hope.

Alina · 16 May 2004 · Chapter 51

Aww, no, not again! It was the logical solution, really, and I wonder whether it was a reaction that demon anticipated. He should have - maybe he hopes that it will be easier to control Legolas´thoughts when he is in an even worse physical condition? But what if the elf truly dies? One question after the other - I do hope for a QUICK update after this mean cliffie. Quick like - right away? Pretty please??? *walks away hoping for a mircale* Alina

Author's reply

No, Mordraug had no idea what Legolas was going to do. Legolas didn't even know until the instant before he jumped. The poor boy was so desperate, it was the only thing he could think of, at the time. Mordraug is not happy. Questions are fine. I just can't always answer them, except in the story, of course.. Miracles do happen. I'll try to update Wednesday.

Lossenchristal · 15 May 2004 · Chapter 51

All right! Have you authors conspired together and decided to make this "Kill Legolas" week????;) This is the second(I think) story that I am following that has (supposedly) had Legolas die. But like I said to the other author, I am not worried too much. I trust you! Just don't make me wait too long!;) Namarië, ~Lossenchristal

Author's reply

I've read many stories that have killed Legolas off, some were good and some weren't. Trust is a good thing. More soon.

daw the minstrel · 14 May 2004 · Chapter 51

Whoa! Nasty ending. It's hard to see how you're going to get him out of this.

Author's reply

Stay tuned, and you will see how things go from here.
