I discovered the world of Tolkien after the first movie was released (I know, I know...somehow, for some reason I just never picked up the book and I think that is a tragedy as C.S. Lewis is one of my favorite authors!) and have not put it down since. I went from devouring THE LORD OF THE RINGS to reading each and every book written by Tolkien I could find (some of which I am working my way through for the second time). I teach in an elementary school in a small southeast Texas town north of Houston, and would like nothing better than to know that I somehow instilled in my classes a love of reading and perhaps later, writing. Lord knows they see me doing it all the time! I believe one of my happiest discoveries was the Stories of Arda site and its wonderful readers/authors! I am relatively new to the writing aspect of LotR, but I am enjoying it immensely!

Through All of These Years
A King should know better than to listen to gossip, but when it concerns his best friend, it is difficult to ignore it. Aragorn learns a hard lesson about trust and the nature of promises, while Legolas discovers one is never too old for lessons in patience. This story was written in response to a songfic challenge (MY IMMORTAL, by Evennescence) issued to the aragorn-legolas yahoo group affiliated with the Mellon Chronicles.
