Stories of Arda

Frodo deserved all honour because he spent every drop of his power of his will and body, and that was just sufficient to bring him to the destined point and no further. Few others, possibly no others of his time, would have got so far. The Other Power then took over: the Writer of the Story (by which I do not mean myself), ‘that one ever-present Person who is never absent and never named’. A third (the only other) commentator on the point some months ago reviled Frodo as a scoundrel (who should have been hung and not honoured), and me too. It seems sad and strange that, in this evil time when daily people of good will are tortured, ‘brain-washed’ and broken, anyone could be so fiercely simpleminded and selfrighteous.

The 12Days Challenge by Grey Wonderer
Over the holidays, I took part in a challenge on a site called, 12Days. The challenge was to write one story a day for 12days dealing with the verses of the song, "Twelve Days of Christmas". Here are the stories. Each chapter is its own little story and each is based on one line of the song. This is filled with hobbits, the occasional elf, and even an Orc and NONE of these are my characters. Everything belongs to J.R.R. Tolkien. Most of the stories have nothing at all to do with Christmas or Yule.

Fwo & Unga Bee Universe: "A Part to Play" by cpsings4him
Though it is written in the "Fwo and Unga Bee" "universe", this story should not be read as part of the original, main story. It is a bit of a side adventure...a detour if you will. In Which: Bilbo cares for a very wee (just under 2 years old) Frodo as well as a MOUSE; Mr. Peeper is being himself; and Frodo becomes the "cream Nazi" (think "soup Nazi" from "Seinfeld")

Where They Are by cpsings4him
A "Quadrabble" plus a quarter - Or, whatever you might call a fic of 425 words. It tried to be a drabble. It really did. It.Just.Couldn't.Shut.Up. But perhaps it's ok anyway. Inspired by "The Great LJ Blackout of 2005" - and the resultant opening of a new "greatest journal" account as a way to keep in touch with all of my friends there. It wasn't exactly the same, but with all my friends there, I was amazed at how quickly it began to feel like...well, I'll let you read the drabble thingy and find out. :)
