They are learning the basics in the responsibilities associated with caring for their ponies, and that is good. Dear Pippin has come into his own. Author Reply: Yes, the lads will be ready for the responsibility once they've had a year or so of occasional training. I'm loving writing Pippin at this age. He's gained confidence and no longer feels like he's living in the shadow of his father. He's surrounded by a loving family and he has good people working with him to keep things going as they should.

I should hope the lasses should go the next time. Interesting reasons for each first gift. Author Reply: It's going to be fun when Sassy turns three. Ruby and her will have a great time looking for first gifts.

A good time was had by all, obviously. Poor Goldy, having to remain separated from Faramir. Hope she is good on the way home. Author Reply: Poor Goldy, she just can't help herself where Faramir is concerned. ;)

Ah, lads and lasses who are drawn together who drive one another crazy! Thanks for the laugh! Author Reply: I know about that first hand and this was one of those moment that wrote itself. My ex and I couldn't stand each other as kids yet we were somehow drawn to each other like a moth to a flame. Sadly though, now we'd just ss soon not be around each other and his wife was apparently very relieved when I married my current husband.

Settling in can be difficult, but it's normal to have such rocky starts. Been there, done that too many times. Author Reply: Glad this rings true. I keep thinking of my best friend. She and her husband have on biological child and one adopted. when their son, who they adopted before they had their daughter, was little he was constantly telling his dad that he was fired as his parent every time they told him something he didn't want to hear.

Having gotten my children somewhat pre-growed myself, I know firsthand the upsets known by children coming to appreciate new homes and relationships, May these four come to know they are indeed. Love the underc introduction to their new home and family. OK⁸⁸ib Author Reply: If there's one thing that grows as this family expands, it's love.

A terrible foretelling this has proved. The poor North-Tooks! Author Reply: Yes. and this was one of the hardest parts of the story that I had to work out back when I started this. A lot of times it was like they were just telling me what was going on and I just wrote it down but this part had me thinking and rethinking what was going to happen. I think that having such a terrible winter that year helped me resolve the plot delimma. At least the children end up with adoptive parents who truly love and want them.

I love Diamond's honesty, and that Merry accepts that he needs to lighten up. Estella is able to demonstrate her innate wisdom well. Author Reply: Diamond realizes just what she almost threw away. She's never going to act so selfish again. The four of them all are like parts of each other. individually they're good but when they're all on the same page, they're unstoppable.

Yes--the need to be reassured is there for Merry. Love the comparisons of familial traits. Author Reply: For someone named Merry he can be way to up-tight at times. :)
