One of your best drabbles; I love the metaphors and imagery, not to mention the reference to Faramir.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. This drabble was one that just wrote itself as an idea jumped in my head. I'm pleased you ike it so much and appreciated your support that helped it place second at MEFA!

And I declared the last one perfect? I so love the humility of the King Returned! Yes!

Author Reply: Thank you so much.I love Aragorn's humility too.

Now, this is perfect! Yes, a phoenix indeed!

A gorgeous drabble on multiple levels. It's so easy to lose one's way, and sometimes a reminder of light, no matter how far away, can reaffirm one's fundamental hope. Good job!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm delighted you enjoyed this drabble so much.My Mum used to tell me to look at the stars.

Ah, poor Halbarad. I didn't really even pay attention to his death till I started reading fanfiction, now it's one of the saddest. Well, one must trust Eru knows what He's doing, and one day all will be reunited. Beautifully written.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased that you enjoyed my drabble.THere are clues in "The Passing of the Grey Company" that Aragorn and Halbarad were close, but it is nice to be ab;le to flesh Halbarad out.

I am certain that along the way Aragorn found himself following his cousin more than once. A sad but necessary separation--but he was there to welcome Aragorn home before, and will do so again now!

So poignant!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I like to imagine them one day reunited again too.

LarnerReviewed Chapter: 5 on 12/23/2010
Ah! Excellent advice he's following now!

Author Reply: He is indeed, Aragorn was certainly taught by the Wise!

LarnerReviewed Chapter: 4 on 12/23/2010
Could that have been the start of the animosity between father and son? A horrid vision for him, even if it is Hope he sees for two peoples and all of Middle Earth!

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.Yes,I imagine something happens quite early to make Denethor prefer Boromir so much.It is so sad that he is so set against Aragorn.

Raksha The DemonReviewed Chapter: 4 on 11/24/2010
Oh yes, Boromir was always the perfect heir in Denethor's eyes - interesting take on the beginning of Denethor's disappointment in his younger son.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. It must be very hard for a second child if the first is regarded as perfect.

Thorongil did indeed face an agonizing choice. It is fitting that he decides in favor of his regard for Ecthelion. Nicely written drabble that conveys well the difficulty of this decision.

Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I'm pleased you liked this glimpse of Thorongil's difficult decision.I think he cared deeply for Ecthelion.
