i have adored yew since he first appeared in a challenge story, and i found those last two chapters leaving me wishing once again that some authors had all the time in the world to devote to my entertainment because i would love to read the tales those two could relate. thank you for making the time to tell us of yew.

Author Reply: aw, (((nancylea)))

I wish I had all the time as well. I'm also embarking on a career writing original stories that can be published and so have to balance how much time I have for my fanfiction. At this point, I have NO intention of quitting my fanfiction. I enjoy it and it's a nice break from my other stuff.

I"m so very glad you've enjoyed Yew and his adventures growing up.

A very creative and happy ending, Pearl! Thank you for another wonderful story.

Author Reply: I'm so glad you enjoyed it all, shirebound. :-) It has been fun to write. Hugs!

Hmmmm. Missing items. A lizard who can get places that he's not supposed to be able to get to. Connection? I wonder.

Thanks for the bedtime story! More tomorrow, I hope.

Author Reply: Thank you, Lindelea! :-)

Yes, he's a clever lizard. I'm glad you're enjoying Yew's story.

“Yew of the Dragons at yours,” replied the dragon as Gandalf had instructed him just that morning. There was no need to add ‘and your family’s’ as wizards had no families.

*Grins* I like that! Apparently, Pippin taught Yew many hobbit customs.

Radagast was wonderful in this chapter, a wizard like Gandalf, but with an expert knowledge of (and love for) all kinds of animals, even the dragons and the correct pronunciation of their mysterious names!

Happy birthday to you :-)

Author Reply: Yes, I think Pip did, plus even bad dragons seem to have excellent manners. LOL

I'm glad you enjoyed Radagast. He's doing well with knowing how to pronounce Dragonish. :-)

Thank, Andrea, you for the birthday wishes and for reading and commenting! Hugs!

Every boy needs a pesky sister, and Vinca certainly fits the bill.

Yew continues to act like an unusually intelligent and perceptive reptile. (Well, intelligent, except perhaps for trying to eat a yew leaf.)

A most happy birthday to you, my friend, and many happy returns!

(and speaking of which, I hope to return soon to read more of this delightful tale)

Author Reply: LOL and sister's need pesky brothers.

Thank you for the birthday wishes, Lindelea!

I"m so glad you're enjoying it!

So glad you updated this on a day I had a few moments to read. Now I'm reminded of the story, that's been on my want-to-read list for ages, by seeing it at the top of the SoA list, and so I clicked on the first chapter and indulged myself.

Your Pip is so natural, so real and believable a small boy, and his mum is wonderfully quick on the uptake as well as kind and understanding.

Yew sounds like quite an intelligent lizard. Looking forward to reading more. Hope I get the chance soon.

Author Reply: Thank you so much for having this on your "want-to-read list", Lindelea. :-) And thank you for your kind words about my characters.

He is an unusual critter!

Hugs!

Yew is in good hands, to be sure, and I'm happy that he's concerned about the hobbits. Happy birthday, my friend, and thank you for this lovely story.

Author Reply: Thank you for the birthday wishes. :-)

Yew has turned out to be quite the good hearted dragon. I don't think he will ever forget his little friends.

You're welcome and thank you for reading it. Hugs!

I love this story, it's so sweet. I like how the relationship between Yew and Pippin, and yew and everyone else has progressed.

Author Reply: Thank you so much, Pip4! Glad you're enjoying the story. :-)

Wonderful chapter!

Radagast is the best person Gandalf could have chosen to bring Yew safely to his new home.

I loved the farewell scene behind the stables and the wishes Pippin and Yew had for each other.

I think Paladin is as sad about parting with Yew as his little lad is, although as a reasonable adult he knows that they can't keep the dragon. Still, he's young enough to be impressed by Pippin's "statue trick" ;-)

Author Reply: LOL Yes, Paladin is still young at heart.

Radagast will do a fine job, I'm sure.

Thank you so much, Andrea, for leaving a comment! :-)

Ahh...*sniff*
Lovely chapter. Yes, Radagast will be a great person to settle Yew.

Hope you don't mind me mentioning it. One slight jarring note but maybe only to me. (Merry volunteered to help his cousin police the various relatives and acquaintances ) police is a very modern word for middle earth. You could substitute 'sheriff'.

Author Reply: Sorry about that, harrowcat. That's what I get for not having all my chapters vetted by Dreamflower. I don't know if 'sheriff' can be a verb like 'police' can. I'll see what else I can come up with.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the chapter otherwise. :-)
