The Green Knight and the Master of Esgaroth  by Le Rouret 279 Review(s)
FantasiaReviewed Chapter: 33 on 1/13/2010
Le Rouret, what a wonderful chapter, to see everybody getting back to "normality". I still hae my hopes of Legolas and Durfinwen, only because a long time ago, we did take a vote for them.

I'll read any story that you post, even if take you years to finish it. So, don't apolagize. Thanks for this chapter. Love Tamin, what a perfect esquire!!!

Author Reply: Fantasia, I'm back! Thank you for your patience! Ch. 34 is up and ready for you to enjoy!

*is nothing more than a glorified comma inserter* Your writing is brilliant, m'dear. I enjoyed this chapter. It is good to see Legolas realizing that he's too busy to sail, and giving Durfinwen her place back. I'm sure she still has a very long hard road ahead of her. I would be sad to see her choose mortality though it would be understandable after ALL YOU'VE PUT HER THROUGH!!!! Ahem....

Tamin was delightful. It was such a joy to see him being hobbity. I guess Bandobras' *sob* teaching did sink in after all.

So... when's the wedding? *ducks and runs*

Can't wait to see chapter 34! This is a fabulous story, one I read again and again. :)

Finally! ;)

So Kaimelas yet lives... I had *hoped* for that, I had *thought* that he might survive, but the description of his injuries sounds dire. I am hoping for a miracle here and his recovery, but given how he did with that arrow wound.... *shakes head*.

Still, it was an interesting opening to the chapter, hearing things from his perspective.

I am curious as to how Seimiel got there so fast - and, for that matter, the healer lady. I can see Meivel single-mindedly following Legolas once he had picked up the trail, but how is it that those two ladies (not warriors) are there so quickly? It wouldn't make sense for them to go with Meivel - what reason would they have had? It would make even less sense for them to follow after - unless they knew explicitly that they would be needed.

Re Legolas and his heart-to-heart with Thranduil... perhaps I am reading this wrong but Legolas *still* has some misgivings with regard to his father? Surely he recognizes that his father was ensorcelled as he was? So what deep dark thoughts is he hiding there?

Depressing that Legolas wants to leave Middle-Earth, though I suppose that I see his point. It sounds very much like he is going to need to find a purpose and reason for staying (? as well as Durfinwen?).

Although this chapter ended gloomily enough, at least there was a bit of humor re Seimiel and her dress orders. I hope for Kaimelas' sake that she ordered a red one!

Author Reply: Hello, Calenharn!

It's with dismay I re-read some of my earlier posts and realized that I've been at this for two years now. I really should have finished before, my personal life notwithstanding. However, I am happy to report that Chapter 33 is at the beta's being all polished up pretty-like, and that I am beginning my campaign for Chapter 34.

Yes, I couldn't bring myself to kill Kaimelas ... where else would Legolas find a "valambassador" to Erebor? And don't underestimate an Elf-woman's determination; even many leagues won't stop her when she's got her mind made up.

Thanks for sticking with me! I promise yet again, I WILL finish this!

Oh Hi, I'm so glad that you have posted. So glad that you let us know about Kaimelas, He is alive! Thanks!!!

Good that legolas was able to talk with his father. So sad that he is so ready to sail. I think that his faith in mortals is gone.

Hmmm, what about Legoasl and Durfinwen, his new mercer-princess?

I don't know why, but I can wait to see the reunion of Tamin and Faramir's son, so many changes had happened. And Legolas and Faramir. IF I recall, Eowyn was expecting.....

Thank again for posting and I hope that RL is less caotic. thaks to your betas too.

Author Reply: I can't believe I started this fic two years ago. It's appalling how long it's taking for me to finish it!

Real life is just as chaotic as ever, but my heart seems to be settling down. Chapter 33 is at the beta's being prepared, and Chapter 34 is in the works. I am determined to finish this.

Thank you for being so faithful, and I apologize for how long it's taking me!

Oh, how sad. What a wonderful interaction between father and son. A rare glimpse into what must be an extrodinary relationship. It is very nice seeing your Thranduil express exactly how a father would be feeling at seeing his child in pain. King or no king.

Well done!

Author Reply: Thank you, Eliza! It's with dismay I realized tonight that I posted the first chapter of this fic two years ago. I cannot BELIEVE how long it's taking me to finish it. Rest assured, the next chapter is at the beta's, and I'll post it as soon as I get my go-ahead.

Thanks for sticking with me! On to the next!

wonderful chapter! Thank you for updating. I loved the chat between Thranduil and Legolas, although it was sad toward the end. Can't wait for another update :)

Author Reply: Thanks for your review, Candiss! It's shameful that it's taken me over two years to get to this point. I think my beta, Nieriel Raina, has it right; we should never post a WIP ... it's too hard on our readers.

Chapter 33 is at my beta's and will be posted as soon as she clears it, and I'm working on Chapter 34. Thanks for being such a faithful reader!

This chapter almost makes the long wait for this story to finally meet it's conclusion. Although I haven't been leaving reviews I have been paying attention. Hi Niri, it has been far too long since I heard from you, but I digress. I too hope you do something about the possible paring of Legolas and the new discovered princess. Your amazing talent keeps growing, and I sense we are close to a wrap up of this wonderful story.

I was so happy to see another chapter of this wonderful tale.

I just loved the moment where Thranduil suddenly senses Legolas. The reunion was touching. Finally there's someone here that Legolas doesn't have to be strong in front of.

I haven't forgotten this story. I just...erm, haven't reviewed?

Anyway, I'm still following this, and I like what you're doing with it. :)

Ahem... *taps microphone* Is this thing on? Oh, good.

You already know how much I LOVE this chapter. The ending was perfect, I adored seeing Glóin riding behind Thranduil mirroring Legolas and Gimli, and the developments with Bard are very interesting.

And you certainly know how I feel about Legolas/Durfinwen. *pokes your muse*

However, comma, I do believe there is something very obviously left out of this.

WHAT ABOUT KAIMELAS?????

*glares at Le Rouret* *taps fingers* *points at desk* Next chapter, here, ASAP!
*g*

Thank you for another splendid chapter, meldis!
