White Shores  by Gentle Hobbit 47 Review(s)

My goodness, it really took me a long time to get back to this beautiful tale! I love the new chapters, especially this one. You know, I live in a very Shire-like landscape, but my grandmother once was born close to the sea, and I can so relate to Frodo's feelings here! I have done what he does - that easy, joyful dance amidst the waves - and this scene touches my heart in its very depths. Thank you for writing this!

Yes, Frodo the Dancer is alive again, rejoining the Song with the movement of his entire body, there where the Sea holds and reflects It most strongly.

Lovely images.

Oh, my dear, this is so heart-filling. Poor Frodo feeling that his courage is gone and himself so broken. I especially love Elrond's dictum to find courage through joy - which you so beautifully show Frodo finding as he leaps and dances naked in the waves.

What a glorious thing it is to be cracked, he thought and then, without thinking, jumped into the next wave.

Wonderful chapter, Gentle Hobbit!

As Elrond said, this is Arda Unmarred. There are no restrictions. There is no fear - only freedom and happiness. Frodo found his courage again, I'm glad he did. And I'm quite sure he will make fast progress now.

Dancing is joy - I fully agree with you :)

Oh my goodness . . . this is amazing! It speaks to me in so many ways. Thank you for sharing.

As long as he danced, he would not be overcome.

Oh, how lovely! If more of us could that this lesson, we would all be much freer and happier.

Poor Frodo. I know that feeling. He needs to get out of his head, step back and just observe for awhile, I think. Let himself just be. I enjoy that Celebrain is helping him to see those walls he keeps running up against, and to hear Frodo talk about Sam was nearly heartbreaking. Ironic that Frodo wished for Sam to be one and whole and now Frodo is the one torn in two.

Oh you write so lovely!! I can't wait for the next chapter. Your fics always bring a little tear to my eye as I think (and, yes, feel) what Frodo is feeling. I think this is how it must have been for him.

Did you hear?? WE'RE GETTING TOGETHER AGAIN!!!! *does gleeful jig around the room chanting hobbitshobbitshobbitshobbits* SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Thank you for your kind words and for telling me that I make you cry (!)

Celebrian gave Frodo good advice, but the task that lies before him is not easy. He came to Tol Eressea to forget all the bad, traumatic things that happened to him. And now he finds that he has to remember them to find himself again. But I'd say there will be lots of good memories, too. And *this* was the first one:

"I like the last name the best," said Celebrķan.

"Why?" asked Frodo. He tilted his head and regarded her closely.

"It was the only name that you said with a soft voice," she answered.

I'm looking forward to reading more!
