| Hooray! A truly stunning chapter. My heart was in my throat the entire time. You were crueler to Pippin than even Tolkien. Love how you change things around and still make the story work. I've still got all my fingers and toes crossed for the safety of the Brothers Mir. I'm very concerned for Froso. As I read more and more of this tale, I realize you can possibly kill off this particular Ringbearer. What's to hold you back? What's to keep you from having Sam throw It into the fires of Mt. Doom. Excellent work. You must be near exhaustion! Author Reply: So glad you enjoyed chapter 48 ^_^ I took a many year long holiday from writing the story so I'm not too exhausted :p but the poor characters didn't get to have a break! | Excellent chapter - Faramir v. Saruman, and Saruman loses! He can't corrupt Faramir by the power of argument or sorcerous voice, so he has to resort to physical means to break the man. Great dialogue between Faramir and Saruman; and I love the bit about Faramir holding the white queen. Of course, Pippin seems to be practically dying, and Boromir isn't doing too well either. I hope that Saruman and his orcs are soon scattered, while our heroes still live, not to mention the hosts of Mordor. | It was very hard to realize that the Rohirrim were under the spell of Saruman's voice. Very hard. And poor Eowyn attacked by that monster. Leave it to Pippin to be around to try to help. And now he's pulled Faramir into a horrid place. Yikes. I've caught up and must wait. Drat. *drums fingers on computer desk* | |

| Oh good grief. I fully commiserate with Legolas. When I broke my back, laughing was hideously painful, yet too often did I laugh. Poor things. All of them. I can hardly bear to read further in this chapter. Oh - I love the phrase 'stretching with his mind for Bag End.' Says it all. :( Good old Radagast has a plan! I do so hope Boromir - no, he can't be affected by this Ring this far away. And yet, perhaps Denethor's decree about strangers in Gondor???? Ah Merry wondered too. I know Boromir died in the original... I am aghast at the thought he might die in your tale too.... And poor Pippin. Good grief, you don't mean the Orcs are flaying Legolas and Faramir... Too cruel... good grief. I loved the humor in this chapter. But did NOT enjoy this chapter. How could I? You are cruel... No, you are the author. You can do what you want, but my goodness gracious.... | |

| I don't trust titles of chapters. But I was keeping my fingers crossed. The only Captain of the White Tower I know is............ BOROMIR. Hooray! Not forgotten. At long last. (Can you tell I'm excited?) Of course, you leave him in as much jeopardy as you do his brother. But a great chapter nonetheless. I'm sure Merry will persuade the Rangers to HURRY! Good grief but this is a fun book. PS - I can't stop reviewing. You make it easy with good writing and great plot twists... and favorite characters! | |

| I'm so sorry they didn't try to hide. I understand Eowyn's mind, but why didn't Faramir and Legolas and Pippin run and hide? Eowyn could have said they fled during the night or something. Yikes! And Faramir - is he now scarred? *heavy sigh* | |
