| Imrahil knows! Not, perhaps, exactly what is going on - but he has seen the way they looked at each other and he is carefully not asking questions! He probably started thinking of Eomer as son-in-law material right after the Black Gate. I love Eomer's diffidence (it's the best word I can come up with at the moment) - he is really quite taken aback by Elessar, Faramir and Imrahil's instant agreement to provide as much support as Rohan needs. And, in spite of not needing a wife, Eomer goes straight off to carry out the bidding of the Princess of Dol Amroth. And, if he's lucky, see her - just, of course, so that he can express his displeasure. Author Reply: The most amazing thing about Imrahil is that he does indeed think of Éomer as son-in-law material. That says a lot about him. And Lothíriel is for Éomer some kind of itch that needs scratching. | |

| Aragorn muß Nerven wie Drahtseile haben, um Éomers Auftritt so cool hinzunehmen – auf jeden Fall bessere als Imrahil und Faramir. *grins* Naja, ich geb’s zu – ich hätte vermutlich einen Herzinfarkt bekommen! Ansonsten war das ziemlich deprimierend. So extrem habe ich mir die Zerstörungen in Rohan nie ausgemalt. Kein Wunder, daß Éomer nicht weiß, wie er das bewältigen soll und Gondor um Hilfe bitten muß, so sehr es auch seinem Stolz zuwiderläuft! Armer Kerl. Wenigstens haben die anderen sofort eingewilligt und es ihm erspart, lange betteln zu müssen. Trotzdem kam der Humor nicht zu kurz. Diese ganzen Seitenhiebe waren Klasse, und am besten war definitiv das: “Well,” he said wryly. “I will have to learn how to glare like Éomer King. I would have my sons in line in no time.” Oh, ich bin sicher, Éomer würde seinem Herrn Schwiegerpapa liebend gerne behilflich sein, um seine nervenden Schwäger ein wenig zurechtzustutzen! Imrahil muß sich nur noch ein wenig gedulden! Author Reply: Auch in deprimierenden Zeiten - und Krieg hat nun einmal den Nachteil eher deprimierend zu sein - sollte man den Humor nicht verlieren. Oder, wie Heinrich Heine sagte: "Je wichtiger ein Gegenstand ist, um so lustiger muss man ihn behandeln." | |

| Gondorians share some traits with hamsters. Now there's a line you don't see every day! Éomer asked himself seriously if Éowyn would mind very much being bonded to a man with a multiple broken nose. I love Eomer. Given how you show his future in-laws, I'm thinking that family gatherings will be lively. Author Reply: I'm a sucker for lively family gatherings. I have plenty of family; I know what I am talking about and Éomer better gets used to the idea that Lothíriel's family is a bit on the strange side (at least the one I gave her - and you haven't met Aunt Ivriniel yet) | |

| I loved the vision of Eomer storming around the palace, and the bemusement to these others in response. I love Imrahil's controlled and calm response... and the comment that Eomer needs a wife... of course he does! He is thinking only of useless women, not how helfpul a good wife would be in helping Rohan recover. You put a lot of thought into the recovery of these nations - of food, and horses and shelter and how injured soldiers can be of use still...nicely done. Author Reply: A war is not over with the end of the armed conflict. A war is about destruction and devastation. There might be victory celebrations on the winner side, but even the winners have suffered casulties and losses and need to recover. That is too often forgotten. | |

| Also echt, was Lothíriel hier macht, nennt man wohl ‚den Teufel mit Beelzebub austreiben’! Zu Éomer ins Schlafzimmer zu gehen, um darüber zu sprechen, wie sie den anderen Vorfall erklären können ... sie hat wirklich Glück gehabt, daß es ‚nur’ Elfhelm war, der sie dabei erwischt hat! Ganz schön keck, die junge Dame. Kein Wunder, daß Éomer so irritiert ist! Er ist es wohl kaum gewöhnt, sich von einer Frau sagen zu lassen, was er zu tun hat, selbst wenn es richtig ist, daß er vielleicht mal seine Leute besuchen sollte. Obwohl ich gut verstehen kann, daß er das hinausschiebt angesichts des Zustands, in dem sein Land ist und weil er ihnen so keine Perspektive bieten kann. In einem Punkt hat sie allerdings absolut recht – es war Gondor, das Rohan zu Hilfe gerufen hat und jetzt verpflichtet ist, den Rohirrim zu helfen. Author Reply: She was just taking a "calculated risk". Und ich glaube nicht, dass sie bei einem Schlafzimmer die gleichen Assoziationen hat wie Éomer. | |

| So jetzt komme ich endlich mal dazu, meinen Senf dazuzugeben! Ich muß ja zugeben, ich habe durch Zufall den Rest im OSA gefunden und gelesen, soweit Du dort gepostet hast, und einen Heidenspaß dran gehabt, aber es hier nochmal in Ruhe zu lesen, ist schön, und es gibt einem die Möglichkeit, ordentliche Kommentare zu schreiben. Armer Éomer, manchmal ist er ein wenig zu ehrenhaft – zu meinen, er könne Lothíriel nicht haben, weil sie Imrahils Tochter ist! Andere würden ja sagen, er hätte sich in eine Frau verliebt, die standesgemäß ist, nicht wahr? Ihr erstes Aufeinandertreffen seit dem denkwürdigen Abend in den Häusern der Heilung war ja sehr unterhaltsam. Willow bark tea! Also wirklich! Und Aragorn hat offensichtlich schon Lunte gerochen, daß Lothíriel dem guten Éomer sehr gefällt – er muß sich köstlich amüsiert haben über die zwei. In diesem Kapitel gibt es so viele nette Stellen – der denkwürdige Smalltalk der beiden auf dem Weg nach draußen, ihre offensichtliche Auseinandersetzung schön in Sicht von jedermann, Erchirions Auftauchen und sein Gespräch mit seiner Schwester ... durchgehend sehr unterhaltsam zu lesen! Author Reply: Ich denke Éomers Dilemma ist, dass er eigentlich überhaupt nicht heiraten will, Lothíriel aber eine Frau ist, die er nur als Ehefrau haben kann. Und noch glaubt er, auf sie verzichten zu können. Er wählt sozusagen das kleinere Übel. Übrigens: Weidenrindentee ist ein erstklassiges Heilmittel gegen Kopfschmerzen und bei fiebrigen Erkältungen. | |

| I love Elfhelm's story. Eomer should take note. And Lothiriel can wrong-foot Eomer with a glance. If she only knew what she was doing to the poor man it would be cruel. Mind you, he is doing similar things to her! And the most delicious thing of all, is that neither of them appears to have any idea of how obvious they are. Love this. Love it. (Now how will the sheer sexual tension hold out once they're actually married? Can't wait to find out.) Author Reply: I found that certain people, because they do not really care what others do, think nobody cares what they are doing. They think they are invisible. And I love Elfhelm! Or rather a certain idea of what he could be, because he doesn't have a background story in the books and has been ignore in the films. In a way, those are my favourite Tolkien characters. As a fanfiction writer I can play with them much better. | |

| I love how she absolutely discomfitted Eomer here. She is just going about being her and he he is beside himself with desire and frustration... though I am sure much of the frustration was fed by the desire! Author Reply: And she doesn't have the slightest idea what she is doing to him. She doesn't even know that she can have this effect on a man. | |

| Eomer is certainly off balance. I really liked the moment when Lothiriel told him that he could ask for anything after what he and his people had done for Gondor. Author Reply: In a way Éomer knows that Gondor owes the Rohirrim support, but for somebody who is so proud and fiercly independent it is still hard to ask for help. | |

| YES! At last, a ficcer with a truly literary background!!! I absolutely adored how you worked in the reference to "The Lion In Winter", quite possibly my all time favorite script. Do all Rohirrim have knives? *evil grin* Cheers, and can't wait for more, Chibi-Kaz Author Reply: For some reason Geoffrey has always been my favourite of that wolfs pack. He is definitely the son with the most brain (I think). Do all Rohirrim have knives? - Yes, I think they have, but I have never considered them being barbarians. | |
