I have been working my way through this fic on a mammoth read, and have loved every minute of it. I love your style of writing, and the green knight series has to be my favourite series I've read to date. Please update!

I'm glad Legolas and the rest have made it back to join Eomer - and that Fastred has proved himself to his uncle. Everybody seems a lot more light-hearted. At the moment, anyway.

Three cheers for quick updates! I look forward to each update to this terrific tale and will be sad when it is complete.

Poor Himbalath! He must have felt guilty enough over his lord's "death" without Meivel heaping coals on his head, and I can only imagine what Andunie's brother might have said to hurt him so.

Oh my! I am thoroughly intrigued by the little spat between Elves--and as mystified as Eomer! I do hope you will explicate it to us in the near future--I could guess at some of it, but not all.

And the reunion!! What a delight! Just as marvelous as I had imagined it would be, to see the party from Edoras reunited with all of the others. What fun!

It's a good thing I had finished my juice before I came to this bit (it wouldn't do to splork all over my husband's laptop!)

The boy tugged on Fastred’s tunic and said in a clear voice: “Uncle, Fastred?”

“Yes,” said Fastred, and gestured to Éomer with his chin. “My uncle. Éomer.”

“Your uncle.” The boy blinked his big gray eyes up at Éomer and then said solemnly: “Uncle is like your horse, very big.”

*oh golly*that was so cute and funny!*

And then the Elves seeing Legolas! I could just imagine them passing him around in their joy, like the hero of a winning football team! And poor Bandy, trying to calm them down, LOL!

And it was so funny to have Cieran trying to tell his story without interruption!

You really pulled out all the stops with this chapter! You will have to go some to top this!

But I certainly look forward to seeing you try!

I love this chapter! Fastred is so cute in it--he's all grown-up and full of diplomacy one moment, and then fighting down jealousy of his friend the next! And the ending--he's in a hurry to get back to a comfortable bed and pastries--clearly over the years, Bandobras has had a very hobbity influence on the boy!

Your archaic language continues to delight me--I actually saw a new word: "dwine"--I believe I could tell the meaning from context, but it's a new one to me, and absolutely delightful. I hope I may pin down the meaning exactly so that I can use it myself!

I am glad to see the pace is picking up--soon all the forces of the Good Guys will be re-united! Won't some folks be glad to see Legolas again? Well, on to the next chapter...

I just love the way that Fastred's character has progressed during the story. To running away from his duty in the beginning, to very diplomatically speaking to Aldamir. I love your writing! xoxo

Author Reply: Thanks! He's actually turning out better than my own 13-year-old ...

This is probably a silly question with an obvious answer: why did Fastred translate between the Chief of the wild hill men and the elves? Not for the elves' sake, surely. I read this through so quickly the first time, I didn't question it. But the second time through, I just wondered...

Fastred is growing up very quickly! But still he has moments when he is just a child. Love his response to seeing his father - and that he and Tamin can just be young together and set their minds on pastries and pleasure.

Author Reply: Every time I write about them wanting pastries, I want a cherry turnover.

A prince indeed Fastred is proving.

An elf intent on matchmaking, when not stopping perfidy! Ah, dear Legolas.
