Dragonfire  by White Wolf 123 Review(s)

Sorry for the delay. Graduation is near, and work is plenty. BUT, I do love this story so much that I just HAVE to review. Well, let's start off with this:

Turning back to the elven warrior, Aragorn laid a slightly shaking hand on his friend’s shoulder. “You must fight it, Legolas, You must break the stone’s hold on you.”

Legolas shook his head. “I cannot.” There was defeat in the elf’s eyes, and his voice was soft, as he begged. “Please, Estel, give it to me.”

Wow, Legolas didn't even fight and he already admits defeat to the stone. I am very glad that violence isn't resorted to anymore, but this is worse than any physical injury that can be caused. After all, mental pain always hurts more.

AH. Poor Ricard. Apparantly he shouldn't have been so revealing to his wife even if he trusted her very, very much. He owns Ravenlore? I thought it was Allaura's place that she inherited. Why did he ever tell her about picking the lock? But even if he didn't, that option would probably come to her anyway, since that's what we all do nowadays as an experiment.

Treco's return. Amazing. But the roof isn't a very sensitive place to hide, especially for a creature his size. Apparantly he hasn't taken shadows into consideration. Something that huge would create a shadow upon the ground, if even just a tiny little one. If a bad guy look at the ground and saw and shadow and look up, the dragon is so dead.

What is Legolas's plan of obtaining the thing that is now "a part of his soul?" From the way you put it, that he didn't even feel guilty, I suspect it'll be a ruthless plan and will involve physical injuries.

Good job. You really do do well on cliffys. As for me, I hate them. I don't like suspense, you know that.

*hands White Wolf a candy bag filled with chocolate* Enjoy!

Author Reply: Forgive my delay. RL and all that suff.

I'm afraid the violence isn't quite finished with yet. You'll see what I mean shortly. But you are right about the mental pain.

Ricard did trust Allaura in the beginning and told her everything. Ravenlore is Ricard's. Remember I mentioned that one of the reasons she married him was to get her hands on it. It was the perfect place, isolated as it is, to carry out her plans.

I imagine Allaura would have tried to pick the lock in any case, like you said. She was determined to get out, and you will se in the next chapter why I needed her to.

Treco was aware he would cast a shadow while on the roof, which is why he had to be on the side with the sun. Luckily that's the side where the next action takes place.

Legolas's plan will be revealed in the next chapter. I can say no more now.

Cliffies are fun. :o) (for me to write, that is).

Thanks for the chocolates. Keep 'em coming.

things look glum. at least he's not violent in this chapter.

Author Reply: That's an apt description. It remians to be seen if it stays that way.

I'm glad that Legolas at least remembers Aragorn. Go Treco! I love this story! Keep up the good work!

Author Reply: That's a good sign, however, he still doesn't seem to care, and that's a bad sign. Go Treco indeed. Thank you. I will do my best.

I really enjoy your story and have enjoyed all of your stories so far. Poor Legolas he makes me think of an heroin addict. They will do anything for that next fix. Aragorn at least knows now what he is dealing with. Tough love is what is needed. It will be hard on both the friends. Allaura is free. That isn't good. Now she is after both of them. Maybe she will run into an enraged dragon. I like that idea. Ricard deserves a chance to live his life without her in it. When will she need to feed again? How will the lack of it affect her? Hurry up and update. I can hardly wait for the next chapter. Will Treco be able to destroy the stone? Did I say update soon?

Author Reply: Thank you. I'm glad you like them.

You have it exactly right. I also compare Legolas to a heroin addict. Aragorn does know now, however, he has to find a way to help. That's not going to be easy. Tough love is an option, but I don't know if he'll think of that. Allaura is after the necklace first, and she'll try to destroy anyone who gets in her way. Ricard was just a victim in all this. We'll have to see what becomes of him.
As for Treco destroying the stone, he tried once already. Remember? He tried to flame Allaura while she was wearing the necklace, and nothing happened to either. All your questions will be answered.

you have got to stop leaving these cliffhangers. good chapter. I'm expecting Legolas to either demand the stone and attack Aragorn or be like Aragorn after the stone was used on him and just be really out of it.

Author Reply: Sorry. My plot bunny loves cliffhangers. I'm afriad we're all stuck with them I think getting Legolas free of the stone will be like getting a drug addict free of heroin. It's not going to be easy. Did I say my plot bunny doesn't do easy? :o)

Unfair--cliffhanger!

So, Legolas has awakened, but to what? That we will see; and I have the curiosity to know what other tricks Allaura might have up her sleeves.

Author Reply: Are any cliffhangers fair? :o)

That is the question. Indeed, we'll have to see. We'll also have to see what more Allaura can come up with, since she isn't finished yet.

Gosh, the situation is far worse than what any of us expected. Legolas's obsession with the stone has gotten him in a position which he would kill for the stone even if it is in his possession. Poor Aragorn. I think that the threat probably caused his heart pain more than the fact that it would frighten him. He didn't doubt what Legolas said would be true, but hearing the words come from his best friend's lips is enough to cause pain in the soul. As you've said earlier, elves are more sensitive and in tune with their surroundings, and so they could see inside the stone's inner core, and thus be drawn in more deeply than humans.

So what he said was true. Estel was risking his life to help his friend but instead he is starting to get choked by Legolas. If Ricard weren't there Aragorn would have died. Strong as he is he still can't beat an elf. And Legolas's quick healing abilities have gotten him up, and that must have unnerved Ricard since he doesn't know that fact about elves, though Aragorn does.

Hmmmmm I wonder what would happen next. Would Legolas still be dangerous in his obsession, or would he recover??? Stay tuned for the next chapter of "Dragonfire" by White Wolf to find out!

What am I doing? Why am I telling this to myself and to you? I must have gone insane. The state testing has driven me crazy. I hate them. They're called CAT6, which stands for California Achievement Test, 6th edition. Four hours a day, for four days.

Hurry!

Author Reply: That is a bad situation. Even though Legolas had the necklace, he didn't want anyone free to take it from him. What happened, knowing it and hearing it, does pain Aragorn, but at least he is able to understand what's going on with Legolas.

Aragorn was very lucky that Ricard was there, because if he hadn't been, the ranger would have been choked to death. And Ricard would have been next. Ricard was very surprised that Legolas recovered from being knocked out as quickly as he did. He hasn’t had any experience with elves.

You pretty much summed up what I was going to say. I was also going to ask if you had a blue stone that was making you a little crazy. :o) Yes, you must stay tuned.

I hope you did well on your exam.

Oh my god.... this is the worst cliffhanger i have encountered in a long time! I just have one question...why did legolas lose so much blood from the arrows in the beginning? well, this is an extremely well written and original story, so update soon!

Author Reply: I think that's a good thing, because there are certainly a lot of clliffhangers out there in fanfictionland.

The blood loss was just a consequence of the wounds. It adds more drama to the story when a character loses a lot of blood.

Thank you very much. I will update at the end of next week.

Wow, that was a truly amazing chapter. I'm so glad that Ricard turned traitor against Allaura. Yay! *claps hands and jumps all over the place (tries to)* Since I'm writing this at my school, I have to keep it secret and make sure no teacher or any of the librarians sneak behind me and see what I'm doing --> that'll be completely scary. =( Treco DOES have a conscience after all...that's interesting! As you've said before, no dragon from his family did, so him being the first to have one is quite astounding, seeing as he broke the chain for the "no-conscience" dragons that were all before him. =)
Seeing that Ricard had only agreed to help Allaura in the past only because he was scared of her, it was quite amazing that he decided to help Aragorn instead despite his fears of his wife. I wonder how husband and wife could have ever felt affection for each other in the first place...*stares off into space, wondering deeply* Well the good news is that Ricard now trusts Strider, though if I were in his position I wouldn't have because I would be scared that Allaura could surprise Aragorn and then break free and kill me. Certainly Ricard took a risk, because after all these years with his wife he should have known that she might have had tricks up her sleeve even without her necklace, and once she got free from the ranger, she would certainly kill him.
Aragorn finds Legolas. Not a very good thing here. Since Legolas's obsession with the stone has been this long, I think it may be too late to be able to save him now. Oh no! You had better not do anything bad to him. He's suffered enough as it is. Poor Aragorn, I think I can feel his puzzled hurt when he finally found Legolas and the elf pushed him back. Interesting...your story now has ME enraptured instead....and don't take too long until your next update, please!!!

P.S. This time, along with all the Hershey's, I will add Ferrero Rocher along with your usual chocolate load. Hopefully you will have finished all the chocolate that I'm sending now along with this review, because I've sent 2 tons of Ferrero and 3 of Hershey's. That'll be enough for your breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day!!! WOW! Chocolate paradise! I'll keep it coming if you keep the chapters coming. =)

Author Reply: Thank you. I hoped you would like it. I also hope you didn't get into trouble at school.

Treco does have a conscience, and he isn't too happy to discover that fact, either. But I don't think he'll be telling any of his family about it. Maybe he developed one only because our elf and ranger are so compelling.

Ricard isn't evil, he was just terribly abused. He's going to finally show his backbone, and if Allaura kills him, then at least he’ll be free of her. There's more I could say to explain, but that will come a little later in the story, so I can't reveal it now.

The reunion was certainly not what Aragorn was expecting, that's for sure. As for doing something bad to Legolas, I'll have to wait and see what the plot bunny decides to do.

I love Rocher. Keep it all coming. More soon.

Thanks white wolf!

My, how I enjoy reading your works!i'm glad that nothing's going right for allura! Ah! It served her right! But poor Legolas! Oh, My! what a terrible thing to happen to him! I jusrt can guess how Aragorn is feeling for elf friend. I feel especially, well, Shall we say, worried for Legolas as he's one of my most favorite characters! Please, tell me it will come out all right! Oh, please!

Author Reply: Thank you.

Thanks again. I'm glad you like my stories. It's great to find a fan.

Allaura is where she should be, but I'm afraid we're not finished with her yet.

Legolas is in deep trouble, that's for sure, and you definitely should be worried for him. Aragorn will do his best, but will it be enough? I can't tell you just yet how things will turn out. You'll just have to stay tuned. :o)
