A Merry War  by Elendiari22 257 Review(s)

Elrond suddenly gave a great shout of glee and jumped, fist pumping the air.
“They’re gone! They’re gone! All will be normal again, for a while. Come, we must break out the wine! No more mishaps!”

LOL! Let's give Elrond this feeling of victory and some time of peace and quiet! But *we* know, they are coming back ;-)

I will miss this story, it was great fun to read it!

Author Reply: And Elrond will consider heading for the hills when he realizes it. Poor guy. :)

Thanks for reading! I'm going to miss this story, too.

ROTFLMAO!! Loved Elrond's "touch of dramatic" flair at the end and Arwen's remark of her father being all too serious. Merry and Pippin certainly know how to go about unhinging an Elven lord. I can so picture Bilbo doing a little victory dance as soon as the S-B's leave as well. Wonder what Elrond's reaction will be when he realizes that if the Fellowship succeeds the hobbits will eventually end up back at Rivendell?

Tee Hee! I can just picture Boromir, Frodo, Bilbo, etc eating popcorn up in the peanut gallery as they make their running commentary. Liked Merry's ink prank from "The Patriot" as well, poor Aragorn and Arwen won't be smooching for a long while I'm afraid.

His moment of drama was overturned--and as soon as they are off at last, it's BREAK OUT THE WINE! THEY ARE GONE! Hilarious juxtaposition of images there, the serious and the hilarious! Oh, I love it!

Awww...Poor Arwen and Bilbo, but if there's anyone able to give Arwen comfort, it's Bilbo. The two people they hold dearly in their hearts just left and they didn't know if they'd ever see them again. And then there's Elrond...*snicker* Doing the Dance of Joy after what the prank war did to Rivendell...Can't say I can blame the poor Elven Lord. Too much. ;o)

I really will miss this delightful story. Thanks for all the laughs and twists and turns!!

Oh, I fell behind...

The fake map was definitely an unexpected twist. And I loved the rest of the soon-to-be Fellowship spying on them.

But absolutely nothing compares to Elrond doing a happy dance when they left. That was sheer, insane brilliance. :)

This has been such a fun read right up to the very last line. I was howling with laughter at the normally so dignified Elrond's joy at seeing them go! I am surprised he let them past the borders on the way back but then Aragorn, legolas and Arwen weren't there then were they so how much trouble can they be? Famous last words!

*ROTFL!!!*

Poor Elrond! Well, at least we know *now* why he sent Merry and Pippin along--he had to get them *out* of Rivendell!!

I love Aragorn and Arwen saying farewell behind the curtain.

I chuckled maniacally when Elrond pondered on Merry and Pippin usurping the throne.

And I howled "I KNEW IT!" when he did his bit at the end! So Bilbo recognized the "dance of the weary host" did he? I'm sure every time he closed the door behind Lobelia he had done that exact same thing!

This was a hoot!

Now...*whistles innocently and pushes eeny weeny bunny in your direction...how did he react when he realized the hobbits would be stopping off in Rivendell on the way home...*

That was fun, Elendiari! I loved Elrond being so sober in front of the Fellowship and then doing his happy dance after they were gone. You can't really blame him! ~TF
