Short, Occasionally Sweet - Gwynnyd's Drabbles  by Gwynnyd 65 Review(s)
Raksha The DemonReviewed Chapter: 18 on 6/21/2006
A wonderful comment on the evil of destruction for its own sake; and another WFM - Wonderful Faramir Moment - as his heart speaks, as always, for hope, and preservation, and green and growing things.

Now this is a gem! :) I rarely smile about Boromir, he is mostly shown as a tragic figure, but this "piece of music" surely comes together with him! Splendid you gave him back what he deserved - a touch of artist in a warrior! :) PS. I may imagine how weird elven verses might seem to him.

A sadly beautiful scene... I guess I see them in front of my eyes, as well as their longing dreas and memories of distant home... piercingly charming and sad... especially for Boromir. Thank you!

Lovely! I can never get enough of that "missing scene" from the book.

:D

Sweet. Seriously sweet. Little chubby-legged Legolas and autumn leaves - and an all-powerful Ada who has to admit to limitations. So gorgeous.

Ahhh. Some happy Feanor and Nerdanel. He's not the world's most empathetic elf, but he can get messages that are signalled so plainly.

I feel so sorry for Nerdanel. However happy she was - and it didn't last for ever - she was abandoned by them all in the end. And left alone until the end of days.

Lovely. This must be a moment that some part of Celeborn relishes. At last Elrond knows what it is like to have some unworthy male carry off your precious daughter.

And, since Celeborn may not sail, the end is not so different. But, just as Elrond was not such a bad son-in-law, Aragorn adores Arwen and will do his best to make her happy.

I love the picture of Elrond letting Celebrian greet Galadriel first - before he and she indulge in rather more . . . adult activities.

Aww. Boromir is such a good big brother. A tad bossy, but very right in this instance; Faramir has to learn to drink properly.

Great moment between the two brothers.

A lovely, secret, best shared - Faramir is wise enough not to rebuke his wife or try to stop her from maintaining her sword-arm; but gives her respect and challenge in his request to spar with her.

I really wanted to slap Saruman's hand away from Boromir's shoulder, there. But it's sadly typical of Boromir that he doesn't look as deeply as his brother; and would be more impressed by Saruman than by Mithrandir. I would wager that Denethor was not impressed by either wizard, and was just trying to get whatever use he could out of ol' White-Hand.

Good job!
