Healing the Long Cleeve  by TopazTook 161 Review(s)

Both couples will grow in their marriages and their love now. And it will be good for Diamond to realize the physical aspects of love from Sam and Rosie.

Author Reply: Of course, marriages are shifting and changing/growing all the time -- including in this chapter. I don’t think Pip and Diamond are going to necessarily be spying on Sam and Rosie’s bedroom, though.

Yes, just perhaps she is good for him. Now, if Pippin and Diamond will just move on to the next stage and actually find the love that's growing find its proper expression!

As you can tell, I'm getting a bit eager for the two of them to get on with it!

Author Reply: “Yes, just perhaps she is good for him.” YES! Thank you!: the story is meant in part to lead slowly to a change in thinking about the much-maligned in fanfic Diamond; kind of a parallel to Merry’s journey on the subject.

Yes; making readers impatient seems to be a hallmark of this story. :)

The staff being where it rightfully belonged could be very suggestive, and I'm glad she chose the marshmallow game. That is WAY too late for the two of them to begin kissing, you know!

Author Reply: Yes, umm, I seem to have gotten the idea from what reviewers have said that there’s quite a strong feeling out there that this is too late for them to begin kissing, LOL. (Of course, this story is what it is.) Glad you liked the marshmallow game, which I did as well.

*Could* the placement of the staff be suggestive indeed? Really. Hmm. [Blinks innocently.]

Oh, we are all becoming so certain we know what's going on, and none of them have a clue, do they? Love Diamond's protectiveness.

Author Reply: Yep, we do have that tendency to be certain we know what’s going on, don’t we? Glad you liked Diamond’s protectiveness, too. [“*Nobody* messes with *my* Pip.” -- Diamond]

About time she cottoned on. She still is an innocent, but smart enough to realize when others are doing their own flirting with her man! About time, about time.

Author Reply: Mmm-hmm. She’s not dumb. (“Stand by your man...”) Sorry. The phrasing of your review just caused me to have a little Tammy Wynette flashback moment there. ;)

We're getting the proper courting, I think, and loved Pippin pulling Diamond out of the barrel of candy. Ganelon has not a clue what's truly important, and Honeysuckle is missing out on a great deal of joy. Seems her husband misses the return on his lovemaking.

Author Reply: Thank you! (I don’t recall any comments about the candy barrel when this chapter was first posted, and I rather liked it.) Ganelon, Gerier and Honeysuckle all, of course, have their own “issues.”

Ah, Ganelon, you have no idea at all of the importance of that gardener, do you? And you are not much brighter, in your way, than Everard.

Enjoying this, I am, particularly as we see Diamond about ready to let Pippin know she is ready to go the next step in their marriage.

Author Reply: No, the hobbits of the Shire — even those closest to the Travellers — still don’t realize the importance of the Quest, or of Sam. Ganelon’s not alone in that, although he’s more spiteful and vengeful than most.

Glad you’re enjoying.

Such innocence, and then a Hobbit bodice-ripper! I have been giggling through the entire section since she sat with Willow. Dear, innocent Diamond! I hope it gives her some pleasant ideas!

Author Reply:
Glad you enjoyed. Of course, just as not all wanderers are lost: not all romances are bodice-rippers. ;)

And she is proving a rather difficult nut to crack, as is Paladin, who is, if I remember my Tale of Years, nearing his end at this time.

So, Pippin's war wound is acting up? Am not surprised it, too, would bother him at times.

Author Reply: Snerk. I hadn’t even thought of the “hard nut to crack” reference in regard to Diamond. I was going with Pippin being a bit “nutty”, which is why he’s glad she’s fond of them. :)

Poor Everard. Hope that Pimpernel is truly happy with him.

Author Reply: She is. And Everard is a happy hobbit, too. (Can’t have *all* the marriages in this story be overly complicated!)
