The Falcon: The Adventures of Peregrin Took  by Tom Fairbairn 44 Review(s)
Grey WondererReviewed Chapter: 13 on 6/8/2004
"Nay," said Obed. "Regret not the courage of a heart that's true, fool though it be." He looked past Poclis and smiled. "Behold, now comes such a heart."

The perfect description of Pippin! I am so glad they arrived in time so that Poclis was not killed in the battle. I love the mystic side of this chapter. Pippin's dream and the true meaning of Leah's name. Lots of lovely connections to the Shire, Mery/Merry and Pippin's wish to make Gandalf proud of him amid his self-doubts. It was very fitting that Frodo would not chose for Pippin, but supported him and was proud of him. Can't wait for more.

Author Reply: Frodo is Pippin's hero. And what Pip needed to hear, only Frodo, if not Gandalf, could say with authority.

Oh my gosh! Poor Pippin!

Your descriptions of what he went through were very good, very upsetting, but very good.

I was shocked when it turned out that the captain's name was Mery.

The description of Pippin when he attacks Mery was amazing!

You are very talented and I'm so glad that grey_wonderer recommended your story!

Author Reply: It was upsetting to write that part, but Pip's a survivor. Hobbits are tough.

"Who's in pieces now, Mr. Peeper? "

Great line!

I loved the descriptions of the village and it's people and as always the fighting scenes were excellent! Glad Pippin got "thanked" for his bravery, and thought him thinking of what his mom and sister would think of his clothes was cute.

I really liked the scene where he got his lion tooths necklace, and I'm very curious about this blue wizard.

I like how your keeping track of everyone through Pippin's visions.

Leah sounds interesting, and I liked the bit with Diamond and Little Faramir.
Was very glad that the pirate and Davy were still alive.

I know, I know. Patience, planning ... honestly, Poclis, sometimes you sound just like a Brandybuck."

I laughed so hard when I read this line! Brilliant!

And your closing paragraph with the description was great!

Bravo!

I am so glad to see Brogar again! I always like it when an old friend returns. I also loved the kite flash-back at the end of the chapter. Even then, Pippin was adventurous. I love that he didn't want to come down because he was enjoying the view. Oh, and he sees to have gotten over his dislike of girls since then. LOL
I think it is so interesting the way that Pippin can sometimes push Maglor out of his mind, but not entirely because of Maglor's strength and experience. I wonder if they will be on the same side in this or if things will take a nasty turn at some point. Can't wait to read more so I am going on to the next chapter.

Wow!

I really liked this chapter. Having Pippin know not to take weapons into the circle of trees was really cool.

I'm glad he decided to leave the crown, and can't wait to see what happens next.

"I can tell a hero when I see one."

"So can I," murmured the captain later, glancing at the sleeping hobbit sprawled on the hammock in a corner of his library.

I loved those lines!

You have such a talent for writing action sequences! Keeps your readers on the edge of their seats.

I also really like Davy's character, and Pippin's uneasiness with people thinking frodo was a savior.

Great Stuff!

Going on to read more!
