Assorted Drabbles  by Forodwaith 76 Review(s)

Great. The whole drabble meanders up to that very forceful and poignant end. I particularly liked "Pendulum," though - hypnotizing. You've made a lot out of a powerfully simple idea and, personnaly, it's nice to see Frodo acknowledging Boromir.

Author Reply: Thank you for reading & for the kind words, Nancy. I do believe that Frodo would understand Boromir very well -- they were both overcome by the Ring's power in the end.

Ooh; Denethor contemplating his mortality and not guessing, thankfully, at the sorrow of his ending. Well done!

Leave it to Faramir to appreciate the potential in the wild woods of Ithilien. A nice moment in my favorite Ranger's life.

I put this into Word and it sadi that it was 99 words! Sorry, just wanted to check up on you.

Author Reply: Huh. MS Word isn't always accurate, but I hand-counted and you're absolutely right. I have no idea where that one word went; it must have disappeared during revision!

Thank you for writing a Bilbo-fic! I'm very flattered... Nobody ever wrote a fic for me (blush!) I must confess though, that when I asked for a 'young Bilbo fic', I was thinking of a child Bilbo, perhaps with his mother Belladonna (one of the remarkeble daughters of the Old Took) or father, or perhaps on his grandfather's (the Old Took) lap when that canny old hobbit talked to his old friend Gandalf. Remember that Gandalf remembered Bilbo as a brighteyed young lad, always asking about the world outside the Shire? But I love *any* fic about Bilbo, because Bilbo is THE Hobbit. The Dragon-whispering, Ring-finding, Riddle-asking Burglar. Who is also a poet, a writer, a story-teller and a scholar. Bilbo rocks! Yeah!
But enough raving about Bilbo.
Thank you again for writing this fic.
(Sorry I'm so late with reviewing. I had the flu last week and must have missed it...)

enjoyed all your drabbles. Love ranger drabbles the best, so really liked this last one of Aragorn as a young ranger.

Author Reply: Thanks, grumpy. I like writing Ranger drabbles too; I'm working on another one featuring Aragorn & Halbarad.

I usually pass up at drabbles (because they're so short) and I never yet reviewed one, but I have to say that I've just read all of your drabbles (reading one I had to read them all!) and each is a little gem!! Wonderful! I especially like the fact that your subjects are so diverse (a drabble about Rosie and one about Smaug, yet another about Denethor or the Ainur)
Would you write one for me? (pretty please?) About Bilbo? A young Bilbo, by preference. Poor Bilbo is always a bit neglected in fanfic, and when he does appear it is always in reference to his adoption of Frodo or something like that, but the stories are never about HIM. And he is an intriguing character, after all.

Author Reply: Take a look at Ch. 27, Marion - hope you enjoy it.

*applauds* I positively love drabbles! But I'd like to request one involving little Pip or little Frodo, please!

Many thanks and more writing please!

Author Reply: Hi HobbitLass,
Glad you enjoyed them! Hmm, little Pippin or Frodo... I'll have to ponder that for a while, but I'll definitely write you something.

Great drabble! i really like the way Gilraen hinted at one of them losing a child. Well done!

Author Reply: Glad you enjoyed it, Cookie.
