Pippin's Poor Poetry  by Chigger 6 Review(s)
Chathol-linnReviewed Chapter: 999999 on 5/20/2004
A poem and a surprise! Nicely done. I actually thought Pippin's poem was good, although I did not recognize the poet. The squabbling over the use of "authored" was amusing also. Best regards - Chathol-linn

Author Reply: Thank you. :)

That's hilarious! Who would have thought that Pippin's poetry would end up in literature books while Legolas's would not? LOL

Author Reply: I think I'd rather read Legolas'. ;)

Thanks a lot! :)

So Pippin is not a poet?
And no doubt his friends already know it.
for they told him the same
that his poetry was lame
so Pip told them to take it and, um, SHOW it.

Okay -- as a foremost authority on bad poetry, having written enough of it in my time, I had to laugh repeatedly at the commentary that the poem did not rhyme. Such laughter took the form of a rhyming couplet. thanks a lot, Chigger!

Author Reply: I must admit that I got an attack of the giggles when I read YOUR poem. It's much better than Pippin's anyway. I'm still slogging through the poetry section of my literature book and the rest of the peoms aren't much better. Some people may like it, but I can't stand Poe's The Raven and I've read it more times that I would have liked. Too weird for me. I prefer Longfellow's Paul Revere's Ride. I have a lot of that one memorized. At least it ryhmes! Thanks for the review.

hahahahaha

I *knew* it had to be a real poem. How do people manage to write such? I admit to having a taste for poetry that has a definite rhyme and rhythm to it. Thanks for the author's note.

Author Reply: I really can't tell you how people manage to, not only write, but sell that kind of "poetry." I like poems that rhyme and flow nicely, but that did neither. I just hated it and knew I had to make fun of it somehow. Sorry Pippin! Thanks for the review.

That was very entertaining. I often wonder what they talked about to pass the time. This is as good a guess as any. I like the way Pippin struck a pose to recite his poem. Very funny!

Author Reply: You know Pippin, he's comical about everything, and I always thought the "poet's pose" was rather comical looking. Coriel had to help me in worming my story into what Tolkien had written, and I think she did a darn good job, too. Thanks for your thoughts.

Hehehe!!! The Hobbits aren't the only ones with hysterics!!!! Hehehe!!! *ahem* Anyway... Very well written!

Author Reply: I'm glad to hear you liked it. I wrote it when Coriel was having a bad day, and I think it cheered her up, too. Thanks a lot!
