The Revenge of the Wood-Elf (Telerius galadh)  by Orophins Dottir 16 Review(s)
EldanarReviewed Chapter: 2 on 4/13/2004
Oh... now I know why grand-ada rolls his eyes whenever I run into his study.. I thought it was because he thought I was a pest.. but really it's because I'm blonde!

""Nay, it appears to be a bewitched land whose shape may shift ever to better conceal itself beneath the mists." That ought to shut him up for a while" - hehehe.

Author Reply: Nilmandra thinks I hate Master Elrond. Not true! I love that elf. Somehow, I just seem to DO things to the poor guy. (I felt just AWFUL about almost drowning him in "Once in Royal Imladris City", just AWFUL.)

Thank you for reading and reviewing! I wish more readers were as good as you.

Can just hear the dialogue. "Excuse me Námo, we’d really like to have Legolas and Haldir back, so how about it?" <<<

Oh dear. Are you going to have Arwen do in Glorfindel? If I had a prequel to my story, I'd have her kicking his lifeless body under a log and throwing brambles over it to hide the evidence and discourage plundering by coyotes.
PJ -- the abomination! Perfect! In the TTT EE at the end of disc one, all I heard when Faramir gave his little speech was "This movie will make corpses of us all!" Oh dear, oh dear. This is so cleverly done, Orophin's Dottir.

Author Reply: Lady, if a fit of madness should overtake you and convince YOU to do the prequel with Arwen, I should die happy. (I may die by the hands of another by the time I get this crowd to the Havens for the sail to New Zealand. I'd like it to be with a happy smile on the old Scribe's face!)

Should be updating either tonight or tomorrow. I promised myself I would at least get Legolas' part of the Plan over before the "Return of the King" premiere. You'll know me if we are at the same show. I'll be the one skulking there with a steno book to record the Abomination's newest sins!

luv ur story...hilarious!! just wanted to tell u that Thranduil is sadi to be a blond in "The Hobbit", except he doesn't have a name yet...just "the Elven King of Mirkwood"

Author Reply: Yes, I thought at much but I was working very late at night and was too lazy to look it up for confirmation! I have been duly slapped silly over this! Sigh.

Welcome to this story! I thank you for your review and hope you will continue with us along this somewhat mad path. I warn you that chapters 4, 6 and 7 are much, much darker than this one. Hang on though and we shall still get our revenge in the end. If this company of reviewers seems strange to you, know that they are the best of Arda. Blessings upon them and upon your house as well. Let me know what you think as we continue.

Oh, the peek inside Elrond's peevish mind was delicious. I always knew he was not as perfectly adjusted as he appeared. And with mother-in-law problems, too.
Also I have been reading your author replies and I just have to say: My parents thought I was weird...

Author Reply: Thy parents think their child weird? How can this be? If it doth aid your sanity profile with them, the Karenator and I shall visit bearing Thranny, Haldir, Orophin, balrog fingers, tacos and Glorfy newly returned from the French Quarter. Then shall you appear as fair to thy parents as the waterfalls of Imladris!

Speak softly on Elrond. I am in deep doo-doo with our Web Elf over my treatment of her beloved Peredhil. I fear oft that only our shared love of Glorfindel keeps us on speaking terms.

"And ever after was the great friendship of Glorfindel and Elrond woven into the songs of the First Born."

LOL! The contrast between their thoughts and their speech is so funny, and I do like the idea of Glorfindel ending up as Namo's penfriend :) But if Elrond is anything to go by there's no wonder he's reluctant to be surrounded by all those bad tempered Imladris elves.

Now what? I can't wait to see them get to grips with the Fell Creatures of New Zealand! More please!

Author Reply: Your kind review is much appreciated. *bows low*

Yes, a new chapter has now been posted and the Lord Celeborn speeds towards Imladris with news for his Lady of New Zealand. Fear not! The days of wrath approach for New Zealand. However, Lord Legolas bids me inform you that, as he is the Alpha Elf and not Haldir, that fell land must wait until he smites his enemies at the the Scientific Research Center of Middle Earth.

Thank you for your fair words and I hope you enjoy the new chapter.

Hey, Tolkien said Thranduil was blond. And he wore a crown of autumn leaves or spring flowers. I see no problem with that. And his son . . . oh, if Legolas wasn't intended to be a blond, he sure is one now. That silken cascade of gold, that smooth, pale skin . . . I wouldn't have it any other way. But brown eyes. Legolas is better with brown eyes. So what if Tolkien later decided most Elves had dark hair? My whole family has brown hair, and I have red, and my sister is blonde. Exceptions happen.

Love the line about "throw one blond into the mix, and next thing you know they're proposing a Quest like as not." Marvelous idea about Glorfindel bonding with Namo, giving a sympathetic ear as needed. I detect traces of a "Very Secret Diaries" tone at times in characters' thought patterns--very funny! Makes an interesting mix with the more lofty writing style.

Hope Legolas recovers from his dissection wounds soon! He can keep the hospital gown, though.

Author Reply: Humble Scribe to his Majesty King Thranduil is not familiar with "Very Secret Diaries" but senses that your words are kind and thanks you for them.

As long as Celeborn and his Lady rule the Galadhrim, ever shall we have a supply of blond elves. I fear for your last wish, my lady, for the elves are known for their courtesy and I doubt not that the Prince will be clothed soon in the splendor that befits his rank. Please read new chapter posted and may it comfort you in your sorrow.

Your interpretation of Elrond is absolutely amazing and hilarious. That chapter was amazing. Poor Glorfindel. And poor Elrond. I love all the blond jokes. They are great. I will admit, I never had that interpretation of blond elves, but it definetly works. More soon please!

Author Reply: Master Elrond and I thank you. We bid you read the new installment just posted and pray that it meets with your approval.

I laughed out loud over Elrond's various thoughts about Galadriel, who would indeed be a trial to have as a mother in law. So Glorfindel has to go pick the two dead ones up? Well, good luck to him. I suspect that those two will not be good travel companions. And now what? Much mayhem, I suppose.

Author Reply: Ah, yes, he has I am sure by now reached Mandos for Asfaloth is swift among horses.

Enjoy the newest chapter and gird thyself for the next. In it, Glorfindel will approach the Ford of Bruinen with his newly restored elflings.

My heart misgives me.
