The Revenge of the Wood-Elf (Telerius galadh)  by Orophins Dottir 10 Review(s)
technetiumReviewed Chapter: Prologue on 1/5/2004
Oh, this is awesome! I love Legolas's snarky thoughts and the fell land of New Zealand. I've been waiting to see a follow-up to Bryn's work for quite some time. This is an excellent and hilarious start.

Author Reply: The fair Web Elf Nilmandra has managed through her technical wizardry to retrieve thy accidently deleted review! After that much effort on the part of our Web Elf, I'd best reply!

Thank you for the review. Also, thank you for teaching me a new word: "Snarky".

I am old and fading, but I do like this word. Its sound is very evocative of its meaning. We old and fading ones call that onomatopoeia. 'Tis a lovely linguistic concept.

Haldir continued. "There were a lot of the Uruk-Hai actually. I managed to kill the first one." They made a lot of fuss about that one. Kept screaming for something called an ambulance. Very confusing. Haldir sighed. <<<

Oh, dear sister in insanity. I now understand your copious reviews. I just found this thing. Must warn you, I understand not the elvish language, nor the intracacies of elven culture -- at least, I have been told as much, many times over and by those far more learned than myself.

that said. I plan to sit down and have a very nice time with this one.

Author Reply: *Scribe happy dances through the Woodland Realm!* Welcome to Taur-E-Ndaedelos and my particular warped corner of this fearful forest. Sit down and be at home! You will fit right in. *chuckles evilly*

I assure you, Fair Lindorien, that between our collected works we have no doubt offended all. Shall I send you my recipe for semi-rotten tomato sauce?

There has been no one sacred to us. I am sure the Thranduil crowd has a wanted poster out on me after I made him do what he did. The fact that I made him repent deeply in the next chapter did me no good. The Good Thranny crowd can be very stern. Prince Legolas has had to assign me a bodyguard. Not that I'm complaining. They are very hunky warriors and not from Imladris for which I am thankful.

I still am in awe that you actually killed Frodo. Bilbo annoys me mightily and I've toyed with the idea, but. . .

The Shire crowd makes Thranny's bunch look like softies. Harm not a single hair on a hobbit foot if you value your life is their motto.

Gosh, sorry, just found this as I have been incredibly self-absorbed lately but Karen told me she's been torturing you as well so I had to go take a look. This is hysterically funny - I absolutely love it and as soon as I get these these confounded whips off my back I cannot wait to read more! (ouch)

Author Reply: Ai, a comrade of the Balrog Mama! You are welcome in our humble house! This madness has totally escalated over the weeks and only dear Karen hath kept me sane. She hath a supplier for prozac, my precious! Offend her not.

It's lovely to have a new reviewer. Let me know what you think as we tread these dangerous paths together.

Cool. I love Bryn's work. Can't wait to finish his.

Author Reply: Blessings on thee, new reviewer! I am thrilled that you have dared to set foot upon this somewhat insane path. Fear not! Thou shalt travel in the best of company! We are all totally nuts on this here bus. I would be interested to hear your thoughts along the route as the rest of us have been involved in this morass of madness for lo these many weeks. So, review, my precious! We who write live for this.

ROTFL! Fabulous! I've often thought the common Telerius galadh would have something to say about 'Dissection', but I hadn't imagined it would involve throwing up :)

Lots of lovely little touches in this. Haldir's insufferable head-tip, the wrought-silver devices to hold clothes together, Legolas' true thoughts about the great Glorfindel's silver bells ;) Just wonderful!

Author Reply: Yea, ‘tis sad what has befallen Lord Legolas. Many weep and their hearts are heavy with sorrow,

However, in the latest chapter just posted Celeborn and Thranduil are successful and we know that fair Glorfindel has already ridden forth.

There is always hope.

I loved Legolas's and Haldir's assessment of each other as finicky Galadhrim and crude wood elf. And indeed, I think I might be puking too if I had met either one of them in their current state. They are plenty confused, though. How will they ever be able to sort out who to wreak vengeance on?

Author Reply: Yes, but even with their wariness, you will note that blond elves are ever more trusting of each other than that bunch in Imladris.

Legolas and Haldir will ne'er falter in their loyalty to one another, even if Legolas must grit his teeth.

Humble Scribe to his Majesty King Thranduil thanks you for your review.

Ah ha! I knew Legolas would get his revenge at some point! Poor Bryn was just too traumatized by the events recorded by BW to continue. But this is a promising tribute to the great work done by the Middle Earth research team. Hope to see more soon!

Author Reply: Thank you and blessings upon you and your family! Please see newly posted chapter wherein Galadrial has a Plan. BW had been led astray from her right path by the siren call of science, but I think this new journey just may restore her heart to the light.

Hillarious! And I'm delighted to read that our fine elves will be seeking revenge upon the wrong-doers. I'm looking forward to reading the end result.

Author Reply: Thank you for the kind review. Never fear that our boys will ever battle evil, for in their hearts is ever courage to stand against the growing shadow! Hope you enjoy the new chapter which I've just posted. Galadrial is now wading into the fray.

I found you! This is just adorable. Too funny. Such a creative and unusual approach to a story. You have done an excellent job of taking something from our world and placing it in their world and making it work. The conversation between Legolas and Haldir was just too funny. Sometimes it's the things left unsaid that are the best! It seems the hallowed halls of Mandos will never be the same. I can't wait to find out what the plans will be for revenge. This is wonderfully fun....keep going. I'm quite impressed with your imagination and writing.....:>) Karen

Author Reply: As I knew you would for I have communed much of late with the Lady Galadrial and her advice I have taken to heart that we newbies should hold fast together and with our shared strength grow mighty! Galadrial is a fun character to write and very helpful. You can move your story along nicely just by having her search someone's heart or thoughts! Don't think I will be showing their thoughts because I am still in too much awe of Galadrial and Lord Celeborn to trespass. (Now, Elrond is a different story as you will see when I post chapter 2.) Take a look at the new chapter wherein Galadrial has a Plan and let me know what you think!

I laughed just as hard the second time around ;-) Poor Legolas, poor Haldir - but their thoughts are just hilarious!

(Oh, and I will add Rumil and Orophin :D)

Author Reply: Thank you! I'm having a lot of fun with this, and appreciate your encouragement.

I thank you for adding Rúmil and Orophin to the searchable characters. Orophin is young yet, and his spirit has been troubled much at the harm that has befallen his beloved Haldir. I have spoken to his Healer and he has made known to me that this honor that you have bestowed has done much to soothe a troubled soul.

Hope you like the new chapter!
