A Far Green Country  by Citrine 2 Review(s)

A lovely, bittersweet story with enough humor to take the sadness away. Merry and Pippin are blessed to grow old with their dearest friend at their side and to look forward to a place where they will meet their loved ones again.
I very much enjoyed reading it.

Author Reply: Ack! I'm sorry it took me so long to reply to you, but life got in the way. It seems strange to say, but this was a lot of fun to write, even though I sniffled a bit over my keyboard. This is one of the easier stories I've ever done-I just put Merry and Pippin together, gave them a nice lunch, and listened to them talk. Tolkien is the true master of the bittersweet ending, and whatever I did well in this story I owe entirely to him and the inspiration of his beautiful words. Thank you so much for your very kind review!

Sweet, but not saccharine. (is that how you spell it?)

There was enough laughter sprinkled in to make the balance just right. Well done, an enjoyable read, at least to these eyes.
