What a wonderful story! I was reluctant to read an Eowyn/Legolas fic at first, but after becoming a fan of Ningloreth's E/L stories at Eryn-Carantaur, I really do love this pairing. When I read that your story was an inspiration to Ningloreth, I just had to read it.

Let me say, your fic has been nothing short of amazing. You write with great attention to detail and language that makes your story so rich and wonderful to read. Thank you for sharing your gift of writing with us, hopeless addicts of LOTR fanfic. Please keep up the great work!

I'm fairly new to the LOTR's fandom and have taken a liking to this pairing. I must say that you have made a very believable and well-rounded story. I enjoyed it greatly. Thank you.

Whenever I come across (especially) these passages (yes, I do read this story or parts of it now and then):

Quote:
Earendil's words grew fainter, a distant echo, like a voice calling across the glassy plane of a wide lake. Fare thee well, Eowyn of Rohan. There are great deeds behind thee, but greater still before thee. Be brave, and do not fear to love. In the end, it is what matters most...

and:

This message Mithrandir bade Earendil carry to us all. 'Be watchful, my young friends, but do not jump at shadows. I cannot say with utter surety, but I believe the dark power we have sensed stirring in Arda may already be known to you, at least in part. He will come in a form that is pleasing. He will not strike with brute force for he is yet weak. He will seek to destroy Gondor and all his enemies in more subtle ways. Be ware, and trust your hearts in discerning friend from foe. Do not refuse the hand of those who seek redemption. Make haste to Gondor, Aragorn, for this enemy will make himself known within the year. Do not fear for Arwen and the babe. They are already under the wing of a strong protector, though they do not know it. Farewell! I send my blessing and my love! If I could, I would return to aid you, but my time in Middle Earth is finished.'" Legolas paused. "I will have some pivotal part to play in this matter, though what or how Mandos did not reveal."

and:

"Then rise, Eowyn, Knight of Gondor."
The words resounded eerily in her head as though some vital piece of an intricate puzzle puzzle had just fallen into place. This was another link in the chain of Earendil's prophesy, she thought with a chill. The prophesy to which she was now irrevocably shackled. Yet she stood, smiling bravely, seeing the answering flicker of unease in Aragorn's eyes. Whatever had just passed he had felt it, too.

End quote

...as I said when I read this I always get so excited and giddy at the prospect of the sequel "Knight of Gondor". So many possibilities for the main and side plots, for the development of the characters and what else!

From your answers to your reviewers at the end of your last chapter I deduce that you had at least a rough draft. Sure, you also warn it takes time but - and I quote you: "Abandon? Never! "Knight of Gondor" may take a while, but it will come." But that was over 3 and a half year ago.
You also encouraged your readers to write to you and you seemed interested in what your readers thought about your story - but you never answered since then, neither on the review board nor in form of a new "chapter", why is that? Your didnīt even post a short notice saying that you have - for what ever reason - given up on LotR fanfiction, again, why?

As I mentioned above, I read the story once in a while again. And often I come across little details (in description, in speech/thoughts of the characters and so on) I never seemed to have noticed before and I am again impressed with your skill in writing and imagination. I was also pleased at your "courage" to free yourself from Tolkien-canon where this was necessary for your characterisation and storyline.

So, I think itīs such a loss and a great pity to give up this story which you put so much effort, time and commitment into. I doubt that you still read any of your reviews since you never react but I thought I give it a try - again, and nudge you a little bit. And if you see me as a nuisance because of that then say so and give us a sign of life.

This sounds a bit fangirlish, but you ROCK. I just spent the past three days having to tear myself away from this story to study.

Just reread chapter 6 ... has wetted my appetite for the sequel. Waiting patiently. A wait I know will be well worth it.

Two words: Truly amazing.

Tremendous grasp of character interactions. I don't think I have laughed so hard at anyone's writings in some time. The Gimli/Legolas interactions is so dead on I had to stop reading for a momment to keep from laughing myself to death.

The raw emotion is so vivid and described so fully. Truly stunning work. I look forward to the continuing story.

Thank you for a truly marvelous ending. I read most of it very misty eyed and savoured every word.
I don't remember when I have enjoyed a story so much.
Looking forward, eagerly, to the sequel and, if ever you have time, to the "prequel" you hinted at.

Brilliant, Erin! We waited for quite a while and it was well worth it. Thank you for writing the only well-written E/L story out there.

I get to be the first to tell you how wonderful this story was. You'd think, after all the stories by you I had read, I would know that what I expect will happen never does! The bit under the well totally caught me by surprise and I 'd totally forgotten about the sword . . . .

As always, masterful storytelling, beautiful imagery and a lingering fullfillment long after the final word.

I'm looking forward to the next story. Thank you for this one.
