O those aches that worsen with age... Ooo! I just remembered that Éowyn is a healer! Is there arnica in Faramir's future, perhaps? (I think Pippin ought to have brought with him for Faramir a new pair of slippers made from sheepskin with the soft, warm woollen side on the inside of the slippers. After all, the Green Hills of Tookland are perfectly suited to sheep! And best of all, no breaking-in period is needed. Heck, he might have brought shearling slippers for the whole family! Light and easy enough to pack.) I can imagine great progress made over twenty years. Ithilien was already beautiful, and it can only be more so after Faramir's diligent attention to the matter. At age fourteen, I would have loved to have an uncle who brought me a horse. I had to wait until I was an adult to buy my own. I'm so glad to see Pippin and Diamond here. And Merry! Is Estella here, too? Yes, I see her now! Ah, yes, I too envisioned some rough sailing in Pippin's early years. So this sounds comfortingly familiar, even if it wasn't all that comfortable for the young Thain himself. Sigh. An echo of Boromir: "One does not..." "Never getting married..."! Hah! Spoken with all the short-sightedness of Youth. But I do adore the love you portray between the various couples. I also love the friendship between the two queens. And "...a time for new directions" sounds... promising? Are you sure this story will have only three chapters? Author Reply: Lindelea! Oh No! This story will have more than three chapters! But I really want to finish at least "Destiny's Child" first. Those plot bunnies are restless and have developed sharp teeth! LOL!! I sense that Eowyn has formulated some form of Arnica! And the application of rubbing in the Arnica may have directly lead to at least one of the children! *LOL* *evil grin* I think the idea of Pippin having some difficulties at first quite probably can from your wonderful Pippin stories! I grabbed the idea of the relationships between Merry and Estella and Pippin and Diamond and ran with it. hee-hee! I think the relationship between Eowyn and Arwen would have grown quite strong and close. Lounging around the solar was quite an easy chapter to write. And once my story gets a little boozy. There will be more... Thanks for writing! (((hugs))) MM Author Reply: And yes! Pippin should have brought slippers for all!! But that thought went away as he was tucking into Second Breakfast and fail to mention it to Diamond, who laden with 17 other things to do for the trip! So it didn't happen! Fool of a Took! :-)) (((hugs))) MM | |

Oh! You are such a dear! Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. I deeply appreciate it. The first thing I saw when I clicked on the story was Beregond's name! What a perfect beginning... The trouble was always in the details, he thought ruefully. It sounds as if Finduílas has had the Captain of the White Company wrapped around her finger for quite a long time. And he's fully aware of it. "Papa would never doubt my safety if I were with you,” Finduílas affirmed. Nor would I. Beregond is completely trustworthy, and I'm sure he'd offer his own life if necessary to save any or all of the family of the Prince (and Princess) of Ithilien. The girl's salute melts my heart. Oh, but poor Beregond, to be mourning such a loss. I'm sure he feels extra protective of Finduílas, too, for this reason. (I think I remember Telion from another story of yours? As an apprentice? Yes, I remember reading about the very special wedding rings. I think re-reading that story may be on the horizon. Aww, but his humility is heart-touching. What she saw in him, he would never know, but he prayed that she would never come to her senses.) Oh! What a good Master. He follows my philosophy of parenting, difficult to apply at times but always worth the effort: People are more important than things. Author Reply: Lindelea! Don't mention it! :-) I thought you would like it! Especially as Beregond is in it! And yes Finduilas definitely him wrapped around her finger, but she is a sweet girl. And yes I think Beregond would give his life in the family's defense! Telion is indeed a character from another of my stories, "Leaving Home; Coming Home" It is the story of Eowyn and Faramir's wedding and as a side bonus Eomer meets Lothiriel as well. The Fluff content is quite high! He was the young apprentice, all arms and legs! He is just trying to pass on what Master Taethion taught him. Bless! Really glad you are enjoying it. It is only the two chapters. There will be more but I really want to finish both long stories I have on the go currently, "Destiny's Child" and "Reunion in Mirkwood" my plot bunnies for those stories are starting to grow fangs! *eeek!* Thanks for writing!
