What a delightful story! Ten-year-old Pippin is completely charming. The biscuits sound delicious. I love the holiday touches and hints of long-held traditions. And you have written a sympathetic Ferumbras here, which was refreshing. I think he and Pip make wonderful conspirators.

So happy to see your name appear in my reviews! Hope all is well with you and the family! I love writing these holiday stories! They are so much fun! I thought it would be fun to have the old and the young Tooks conspiring in mischief! So happy to see your name!

Be well!

What a beautiful ending! Light breaking without with sunrise and fires, and within the hearts. Such wonderful feelings and images and speaking to all the senses. The sweet sunrise biscuits is such a nice concept.
This story was very sweet. Starting with baking the biscuits. How curious Pippin is - we know him like that - and eager to learn, know more and be part. I never tire to see him. And you render him so well. The patience they have explaining everything properly to him is sweet. Of course how could one not, when he awakens such fondness, his interest is delightful. (Although I'm not sure if his mother would agree about the smoking, so young as he is...:))
This peace is full of love and peace and sweetness.
Thank you for it!

Sorry it took me so long to respond. We are unfortunately back in the office at work :-( and things have been hectic! Thank you for your kind words. Hobbit fluff is SO much fun to write and I can just imagine little Pippin charming everyone and being doted upon by a loving family. I love to create ceremonies and traditions and then write about then! Thanks again and happy new years!

Be well; stay safe!

This is absolutely lovely. Full of traditions and love and those small but treasured moments that hobbits remember all their lives. I especially like this:

t but he radiated joy and Ferumbras knew that there was certainly not enough of that precious commodity that it was not to shunted when found.

Happy Solstice to you!

Thanks so much for the review. It was fun to write something just completely happy and angst-free. So glad you liked it! I thought Hobbits and the Solstice it has got to revolve around food!

Happy belated Solstice to you as well!

Be Well and Safe!
