| Although Tolkien wrote the part about Frodo going to the Grey Havens - and although I understand the reasons behind it - I never really liked that this beautiful friendship that had endured so much over such a long period of time was broken up. Truly sad. Thanks for your story though. JULES6 Author Reply: I know, I hate that it had to end that way! I've never written a reunion fic before, maybe I'll try one day. | I really liked your first paragraph where Sam pleads with the elements to return the ship to the harbour. It is a sad chapter, but nicely done for your first story. Hope that there will be happier times to come. One thing, though, The Grey Havens is a harbour where elves sail from to the west, to Avallone, the blessed realm where Frodo will find peace.
