At least Aragorn has not proved rude--or, at least not in this instance! Heh!

Author Reply: Heh! I'm sure he tries not to be, Larner! Thank you so much for your reviews!

I love this turn of phrase: curled like a cat by the warm fire

It's interesting to see the different responses: it highlights especially, I think, why Númenor fell... and why Aragorn didn't.

Author Reply: Thank you so much, Lindelea! I'm so glad you love that phrase, it's one of my favorites too, I think.

I'm glad it highlighted that! Thank you for letting me know.

A lovely series. I especially appreciated seeing the moon through their eyes, and knowing that Artanis had not succumbed to resentment toward the Valar.

Author Reply: Thank you so much Larner, I'm glad you've enjoyed this! The next story is now posted!

Ah, but I read echoes of Fiondil here! I rejoice that she finds comfort here, but grieve that Denethor avoided her sickroom and deathbed. And she wishes to greet Thorongil, whom she sees as a brother? Interesting!

Author Reply: I'm sure you do see echoes of my beloved Atya - I could do no less than to honor him. *misses Fiondil greatly*

She has quite a lot to talk to Thorongil about...especially if this is taken as Isildurchil Dithen 'verse!

Quite the tradition, and another reflected in how and when Valandil's descendant Aragorn shall learn his own lineage. So, the circlets were not precisely wanted by their recipient, but treasured nonetheless? Interesting.

Author Reply: Oh, well, young Thranduil found circlets annoying. What can I say? Heh! :) I'm glad you found this interesting.

Well, this tutor has had over two millenia to learn himself, and is knowledgeable about herbs used in healing. It should be most interesting to learn from Elrond's son.

Author Reply: Yes, he has! I am sure Kili will learn many interesting lessons from Elrohir. We'll have to see if I am fortunate enough to see any more!

This kinslaying is, I think, the worst. Poor Nimloth!

Author Reply: Poor Nimloth, for sure! Thank you for your lovely reviews, Larner!

Poor Galadriel and Itarille! That lengthy trip was so hard on them--on ALL of them, in fact! Just traveling to the North or South Pole with dogsleds and all the necessary equipment is hard enough. What they all went through before they reached their destination doesn't even bear considering!

Author Reply: That's so true KathyG!! I can't even imagine going to the North or South Pole, never mind what all the Exiles must have been through. *shiver* Definitely poor Galadriel, Itarille (Idril) and everyone else. <3

All these vignettes are so worthy of their own stories. I enjoyed them a lot, and made disappointed moans when there was no "next chapter". Of course I knew at the outset that these would be mere windows, a peek through veiling curtains. Thank you.

Author Reply: Don't worry! There will be a "next chapter" before long. This gets updated once a month with my entries from the Teitho writing contest. The next tale, "Their Hour Was Not Yet Come", will be structured rather like this one, though it wasn't written for tolkien-weekly. It's more of a tale-within-a-tale. I hope you will enjoy it!

Oh, well done. I would surely like to see this one expanded into a full story.

Author Reply: I may revisit it! Thank you so much for your review.
