| Wonderfully insightful piece, and spectacular tactile imagery! What a penetrating snapshot of Aragorn's difficult transition from a Ranger to a King. I have always imagined that he would be unsettled by the pampered life, and find it more difficult to endure than the rigors of the Wild. Your portrayal of Arwen's anchoring of him is also touching without being cloying (and I am not a big Arwen fan). Thanks for your mention of Halbarad - he is one of my often-overlooked favorites! |

| Hurrah! I will admit I've never really thought about life being anything less than perfect after the end of the war - not idylic perfect, mind you, but no major trauma. Sometimes it's hard to remember that those we idolize and revere are human as well. I'm looking forward to more. |
