| Perfect diversions for a recovering Hobbit. I am glad that the Gaffer is now willing to allow Sam to continue studying in his leisure time. Author Reply: I should like to think that the Gaffer would be willing to allow that in canon, as well. He does love Sam, and Frodo made a good point when he said that Sam would have too much time on his hands if the Gaffer did not permit to continue his studies while he's recovering. | |

| I remember the original story, and this is delightful. Sam won't be bored any longer now that Merry and Pippin have come to visit, and what a wonderful conversation Frodo had with the Gaffer. I'm so happy for Sam that he has such loving friends. Author Reply: I love the original story, and I wanted to write a gapfiller for it for quite some time after I had first read it. However, it was not until I came across it on LiveJournal that I had the option of doing so, as I dared not to write it unless Mariole was willing. Thankfully, she was! =) Sam is indeed fortunate that he has such great friends. | |
