Chocolate lembas--that sounds yummy!!

Any chance that they might also make chocolate fudge? =)

Author Reply: I have no idea... But Hobbits probably do! :)

Thanks for reading!

Oh...This is just delightful!! Poor Legolas, as I've been on that side of bets like that. At least Estel realized he couldn't handle two pieces of Chocolate Lembas, so our Noble Prince was able to enjoy his treat. :oD

Love, love, love this!! Thanks for sharing it w/us!! :o)

Author Reply: Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :)

Hahahaha! Humour!!This makes me think of my Grand pa when he says almost the exactly same thing of mushrooms which he despiced even unto his death!😆Its the part where Legolas wonder what has befallen Imladris to eat such a thing! But unlike Legolas he never learned to like them. Well salsify.. Im amazed it came up in fanfiction. Im an enthustiastic and rather experienced grower of vegetables in my garden. Perhaps I should try it some time! I love your story its full of " feelgood", freshness and delightful play of little men and elves😌Heartwarming !

Author Reply: Salsify in fanfiction... Well, it has a lot to do with Hobbits in Kentucky! ;) And a thread on the ALEP Facebook group that grew into a request for a story. Glad you enjoyed it! And yes, I've had salsify grown and cooked at Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, KY and it is VERY Yummy!

Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)

I had a feeling that I'd enjoy this story when I saw the title (chocolate lembas? yes, please!), and I was by no means disappointed. Thank you for writing it! This is a very sweet and charming story, with some interesting character insights. I imagine it would be very frustrating for little Estel to feel chronically over-protected for no good reason that he can think of. As for adolescent Estel, I would hate to be the poor Elves set to guard him if he took a turn for the rebellious! I also appreciated your portrayal of Legolas here. It seems like his friendship with Estel is giving him a chance to be a "kid" in a way that maybe he couldn't much during his own childhood. On a lighter note, his reactions to the salsify ("What calamity has fallen upon the Last Homely House that you would eat such a thing?") were hilarious.

(Speaking of reactions to salsify, I must admit that this was the first I'd heard of it. Just looking at the word, my only guess was that it might be a verb related to salsa...like, "these tortilla chips will taste even better once we salsify them!" Once I looked the word up, things made considerably more sense, though the image of some Wood Elves gathered eagerly around a big bowl of tomatoes and cilantro is definitely entertaining.) :)

Author Reply: Thank you for your kind review! I have eaten salsify and it is AMAZING! I highly recommend it.

And yes, I can definitely see Wood Elves doing chips and salsa, with beer and a piņata. LOL!

Thanks for reading and reviewing!
