The Gift of Dreaming  by shirebound 9 Review(s)

Ha! Trickses! (as Gollum would say ... :-P)

Yeah, didn't see that coming ...

Author Reply: Shirebound can be tricksssy, yes she can! :)

I didn't expect that at all. The mental image literally changed shape at the end.

On a different note: Three of your stories aren't working. I can click the title, but get an error message, and there aren't any chapters listed for them. What went wrong? :(

Author Reply: Thank you for the review! I'm glad the 'misdirection' worked on this little tale. :)

Thanks for letting me know about the 'missing chapters'. I uploaded three short story drafts to the site, but haven't 'published' them yet. I didn't know that they would show up on my public stories list! "In a Dusty Corner", "In the Company of Hobbits", and "The Lineage" are still works in progress, but I plan to finish and publish one of them this weekend as a birthday mathon.

You surprised me big time! That was great and I had no idea until the last. Such excellent writing and you didn't give anything away. : )

Author Reply: Thanks so much! I'm so glad this worked.

Wow! That was an unexpected twist, but a very clever one.

I like it very much that Faramir Took has a brother named Boromir. So history repeats itself (with a little help from Pippin and Diamond)!

Author Reply: Thank you! Once I started musing over the idea that Pippin might name both his sons after the Stewards, it was fun to write a little teaser. :)

Oh, my! Amazing job... you got me started on one track and suddenly I was on another. Masterfully done.

As long as you and your brother stand true...
A good promise to remember.

Author Reply: Thank you so much! *beams*

I love imagining the Shire safe in the hands and hearts of those who love it best.

Dang it, that was supposed to say that I'd gobble them up like a hobbit eating second breakfast. How I missed that vital word, I have no idea.

Author Reply: Hobbits are indeed vital! *grins*

You are a sneaky, clever hobbit. Until I saw the word "tweens" I was sure this was about the sons of Denethor.

So, there is a Boromir in the Took family too, and he listens to his brother's dreams a lot like his namesake.

You must write more about these two. Those are stories I'd gobble up like a eating second breakfast. :)

Author Reply: Thanks so much. I loves being sneaky, and am really glad you liked this. If I get an idea to write more about the young Tooks, I'll certainly pounce on it. :)

LarnerReviewed Chapter: 1 on 1/27/2015
Oh, how wonderful the twist on this one! So, Diamond and Peregrin named their second son for Boromir? Delightful! And Faramir apparently dreamed of the King!

Author Reply: Thank you so much. I got to thinking that Pippin might have honored Boromir by naming a second (or even a first) son after him.

AntaneReviewed Chapter: 1 on 1/27/2015
Whoa, that was a twist to what I was expecting. How sweet that now only was there a Faramir Took but a Boromir too! The Steward would be pleased to know that. :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Thanks, Antane. This was fun to write. :)
