This is so sad, but it has an inner logic that I can't deny. Another one to blame on Feanor. What was he thinking...

Author Reply: *Was* he thinking at all, to begin with? I have my doubts...

Sorry I haven't reviewed lately, but this time of year is very hectic. I have been reading though and enjoying each story. This story, however, struck a cord with me, for I was trying to place this on the Darkening timeline. Has Arafinwë not returned yet? For I would think he would squash the anger and all against the innocent very quickly. Or is he still on the road back and when he returns he will find half his remaining household mysteriously gone? They were all insane, I think, and no one from the Valar on down was thinking straight about anything. One of these days I'd like to continue my Darkening story to describe the steps Arafinwë took to reclaim the respect of the other clans for the Noldor who remained behind. I think that's a story worth telling.

Author Reply: Frankly, I didn't give the timeline much thought, as I'm not as well-versed in the First Age as I probably should be. I just wanted to address this particular event that was already mentioned in "Elvenhome". These little nothings are just ideas that I couldn't fit into the already overloaded storyline.

And believe me, I know about hectic. Christmas break couln't come soon enough. When I've caught up with all the things that had to be put on hold because of work, I might have a couple of days to do something I actually enjoy.
