So glad you posted this! I loved the descriptions of the various lands. It all felt very vivid. I got a chuckle out of them commiserating over the Mettare perfumes and from Faramir's reaction to pipeweed. The whole piece felt very atmospheric. Kudos.

A delightful tale that hones in on what has been shown to be the sense that most strongly brings up memories--scent! How perfect a tale to be shared between these two!

"Imagine the reek of sulphur and decaying filth and burning all combined; that is Mordor. Frodo and Sam endured a great deal to destroy the Ring."

It's wonderful to think that the King honors the hobbits for every achievement, even those to which others wouldn't give a second thought. I wonder how Aragorn remembers the scent of the Shire?

Author Reply: Thank you, Aragorn does indeed always honour Frodo and Sam. I think he remembers the scent of blossom in the Shire.
