Jaded Amber  by Virtuella 7 Review(s)

Oh, but so many of us have suffered from depression at times. A perfect metaphor for it, as well as a wonderful expression for the relief its sufferers can experience. The gem sounds wonderful--I rather like the idea it caught not an insect this time but a flower instead. And Faramir has associations with it, too.

So good to see this from you. Have been suffering from computer woes since early in December, and am now facing Win8 warily.

Author Reply: Thank you, my dear! I hope your computer woes now lie behind you.

Oh my, I found myself agreeing with Eowyn, that Legolas could've sung the orcs out of Helm's Deep! That said, I wish he could come by and sing my aches and pains away, :D He's such a sweetheart, and your story was lovely.

Author Reply: Thank you - all that elven singing needs to good for something!

What a beautiful and fantastically uplifting story. I felt so much sympathy for Eowyn here. You know one such as she would have struggled with moving on from the more active days of her youth. I'm so glad Legolas could help her, and that she's surrounded by her children and her loving husband. I greatly enjoyed how you structured this story and the surprise of the flower in the amber was so sweet. Thank you for telling this hopeful tale.

Lovely. I do like the way that your Éowyn is a 'real' person, not always happy, not always a gentle and gentlewomanly wife. And how nice to hear a little of Déoric - who is also a 'real' person.

Author Reply: Thank you. Yes, I think Eowyn as a very realistic character, she comes across like that in the book.

Ah, trust Legolas to find a way to brighten Eowyn's spirit and give her back her joy. A lovely piece, Virtuella. Thanks for sharing.

This is a beautiful story, exquisitely written. Your description of Legolas' song.... the imagery leaves me speechless. What a gift to Eowyn, and to us. Thank you for this lovely, hopeful tale.
