Coming back to SoA for the first time after a loooong hiatus, and I can't tell me how happy it makes me to see you posting stories again. Loved this--your Arandur is such a perfect figure to guide Estel, and I love seeing Aragorn when he's at this stage in life. Looking forward to going through and reading more of your work!

Author Reply: Thanks! I'm so glad you liked this fic! I was surprised by how much I enjoyed writing it. Young!Aragorn is fun to work with.

I'm glad you're back! I took a somewhat ridiculous hiatus myself, so I know how that goes.

Lovely! Aragorn has so much to learn about being Chieftan, and he is so young. He has a good start by using his Ada, Elrond, as an example. :D

Author Reply: Thanks for the great review!

Ah! *heavy sigh*

I'm glad I read The Quiet War first. I haven't read your stories for awhile and seeing Aragorn as an 'understudy' so to speak in that tale made it easier to read this one, with Aragorn now having matured a bit.

I love the characters, especially your OC.

And I love Aragorn's growth. That he would fashion his authority upon Elrond's is pretty neat.

Again - lovely tale. you have such a way with words. Awesome.

I really enjoyed this story. You capture young Aragorn feeling his way into his role so well. Great to see you writing again!

Author Reply: Thanks, Linda! It's good to be writing again, even if I don't know how long it'll last.

Yes, he has two homes now, and he has handled his uncle's disapproval well. Nicely managed indeed by one who must learn to rule.

Author Reply: Yes, I was trying to capture a bit of what that learning process must have been like. Thanks for reviewing!

Oh, this is just lovely. I like very much the way young Aragorn is beginning to feel his way around his new role, balancing what he learns of his father's people with what he learned at Elrond's side growing up in Rivendell. And I like Arandur as a character--he feels very true to Middle-earth.

I love it when my friends have birthdays! *grin*

Author Reply: Yeah, birthdays are great. ;D

I'm glad you enjoyed this story and especially glad that you liked Arandur. I might play with him a bit more in future stories.
