| The cost of victory. It was a hard won battle, and when you look at the cost in fallen and wounded, there is little to celebrate. Legolas grows with the challenge. Let's just hope they can get back home without too much trouble. Author Reply: Thank you for the review! I think all too frequently people like to skip over the aftermath of a battle, but for me, the day after is just as important as the action itself. | |

| What a terribly hard chapter to read. Though there is a sort of victory, the cost is overwhelming. Legolas shows his worth and continues to grow in the esteem of those he commands. | I'm glad Rochiron survived and Legolas does quite well taking over command when necessary. Too bad he doesn't know that his brother won't be coming to help. I hope they are able to get back to the Stronghold without too much trouble. And what has Bilbo been up to all this time? Is he still causing trouble? *grin* Author Reply: Teehee, Bilbo is still burglarizing (I think that's a word)...but the poor elves are so preoccupied that they'll get a rude awakening on that score.
