The chapter after this just posted, so I thought I had ought to review this one first. ...barrels not water-tight...but perhaps just enough. I remember a millenia or so later, (depending on how old Legolas was at the time of The Battle of Five Armies, I have heard two different versions,) thirteen Dwarves and their friend the Hobbit rode in and on the Elven King's barrels all the way down to Laketown. They were carefully packed, full-grown dwarves, not thrown in, frightened children, but there still is hope! And the rope is tight, perhaps Galion has them. Now to get an unconscious Saeron out in one piece!

Author Reply: maybe they are waterproof but they can still impact with the rocks in the river and they are surely sticky, nothing really pleasant for little children. Yes, and Saeron needs help also - much to do for poor Galion....thank you so much for reading and reviewing demedter d. Lai8

A taut chapter and a mean cliffhanger. If even one of the children, assuming they are actually in the barrels, is killed, Thoran will have much to answer for. He truly is insane. Looking forward to the next chapter with bated breath.

Author Reply: where would be the fun without a cliffhanger but your are right nothing to laugh in this chapter and the children ARE in the barrels! Thoran will have much to answer for. And he has not reached his peak in insanity. Thank you so much for an appreciated review, Fiondil. Lai
